COOL! Thanks! Does the MAME emu emulate the actual arcade games? I'd like to play that thing one more time! Mr. Stan

Was this a real game? I seem to recall playing it quite a bit and it was pretty fun, but I can't find anything about it anywhere, so now maybe I think I'm nuts. And if it does exist, has it ever been ported to any home systems?

ENTOMBED! does sound similar, but in ENTOMBED! you can move up and around and such. This games sounds more interesting because you are a victim of gravity, you can only fall down. I'm not saying toss in the monsters and "floor acid" (ie make-breaks) right away, but these are things that could be included on advanced levels or something like that. Sounds like a lot of fun!

Is this even possible? I'd like to experience this game first-hand (I've only seen screen shots and demos), but don't have a copy of the game and all its extra hardware so the only way I could is through the emu. But is it even possible to make a ROM of the stupid thing?

Why the paddles? Just curious...

Hold yer horses there Chris. While it is a VERY daunting and difficult task to create a RPG for the 2600, I don't think it is totally impossible. Difficult? Yes. EXTREMELY limiting? Absolutely. Impossible? Almost. If you look at a game like Dragonstomper, it is probably one of the best examples of a 2600 RPG, but it is very rough and requires that stupid cassette to work (I hate the whole idea of that thing) Many people nowadays have very limited access to superchargers or cuttle carts etc. So making a game that requires a lot of extraneous equipment will limit those who can actually enjoy the game. It would be nice to make an Atari RPG that would all fit into one little black cartridge, but it ain't gonna be easy or pretty. HOWEVER! I am wrestling with 6502 assembly as we speak and may some year actually understand it. Should that happen, my first priority (after making two other planned games that will stretch my programming muscles) is to create a "Zelda" for the 2600. So we are of the same mind, but there are some very real and very tough obstacles to work through and around. If I ever tackle 6502 and get comfortable with programming it, I'll let you know. I hear your cries and hope to be able to respond, its just not that easy. Understanding Stan

Marble Madness would have been cool. I've only ever played it on NES, but it was tubs of fun. How about Birdie King? I put so much money into that machine as a kid (and I had no idea what golf even was) and Atari has no really good golf games that I know of. It might have required that pesky trackball though.... Hole in one Stan

Sounds like fun to me! I'd fill them out!

Sort of, you see as a kid I grew up on Spider-man comics. I learned to read thanks to Spider-man comics. So in a way, Spidey and I are both StanJr's. We were both forged by Stan "the Man" Lee. Spidey's the coolest! Stan

It got so bad when I was a kid, my mom started letting me eat in my room because I would come to dinner all pissed off I had to stop playing Atari. Of course, my parents understood because they played the thing as much as I did! All in the Family Stan

Yeah that pitfall sucked bad. I hated that stupid graphic at the top, the so-called Health Meter, that had the alligator eating Harry. Dumb Dumb Dumb. The PSX Pitfall was much better, but NOTTHING beats the originals. I always thought the music was cool, just because it was there and not on most other games.

There are 3 games that I never get bored with Spider-man Zaxxon (I know the graphics suck) Crystal Castles I used to play Mr. DO! ALL the time. But over all of these, I must put Pitfall II at the very top. It is the best.

Yeah Frostbite rules, but its doesn't start to get really fun until you get past 200,000 points. You have to plan your next 3 or 4 jumps in a heartbeat, then there's that stupid bear! Its loads of fun! Frostbitten Stan

I had that same problem with the boards until I bookmarked the new address and started using that instead of the old location. Now I'm always logged, baby! Logged in Stan

Yeah, these things looked like they were Dollar Store specials. They had a sad dust cover thing that was broken or at least loose covering the chip and the labels looked like they were done by 1st graders. It was really weird, but good for a laugh. Chaz, thanks for the offer, but no, I don't think I'd come within a mile of this thing. RangerG, I bet getting a lump of coal would have been preferable. Did you set the living room rug on fire that year or what? Nothing but high quality Stan

I stopped in a thrift on my home from work on a fluke. As I was shifting through looking for more than just the $1 Space Invaders, I came across about 7 carts that were similar in size to SNES games, but were obviously not. The end label said the games were for the Radio Shack TRS 80 computer system. The WHA...? Does anybody know anything about this? The games were $5 a peice and featured such classics as: Shooting Gallery Polaris Doubleback Dino Attack (I think) some kind of driving game and what looked like a Pong. There were some others but I don't remember. What is this?

As a kid, I liked them because I couldn't figure them out. Now that I understand the deal, I'm pretty jaded. Earthworld was the most fun (I've never played Waterworld). But my vote goes to Airworld. (I assume that one cat is still making this game right?) I'm an optimist. Hey moycon, I like ET too. I spent about 6 hours playing it a few months ago. For some reason I couldn't stop. Best non-eBay way to sell a system & games?

You can always drop your goods on this board and let us pick them apart.... -
Sounds like it has potential. Maybe add some monsters or something that try to eat the ball and perhaps a power-up item that makes the ball invincible or able to fall through the floor at will (like Make-Breaks in Entombed.) The basic concept is cool and probably fun to play.

Thanks Alex, I'm getting an image together this week!

False alarm, the blinking maze in the green castle turned out to be caused by an invisible dead dragon. I STILL cannot find that #4 in level 4. Its the last thing I need for the guide. I'm going to embark on a third room-by-room, if that doesn't find it, I guess I play level 4 again, sigh. Tired Stan

Hey guys, the new server is great. One thing. I was just tinkering with my profile and noticed that there were no (0) avatars. Are you adding more? Can we still send you something for a custom avatar? Exactly what do you need for that, jpg or bmp or what? stan

Hey, Ben. I've got a soda pop right here, now fork over that number 5! Thanks for the explanation Albert, sorry about that #3/#2 thing. You'll always be #2 to me! Stan 409 (hey, I'm a secret cleaning formula!)
