There are some 550 members on this board. But what happens if say Member #37 (this was a random pick, so #37, just simmer down) leaves the board and never returns. Does his/her number just sit un-occupied forever or do we all get bumped up a number? Is there a statute of limitations on inactive member numbers? Can I lobby for a higher number (you know, closer to #1)? Am I way too concerned about this? Should I take a nap? Stan, Member #409

So THAT'S who Super-man REALLY is. I knew it couldn't be that Kent sap. Jimmy Olsen, Stan

Nateo, I always found Kung-fu Master to be really hard (nearly impossible on the emu). Not Double Dragon hard and un-fun, but just plain hard. What little graphics I had an opportunity to see were really good. Grasshopper Stan (Nateo's Kung-Fu is stronger than mine)

DUDE! Do you really have a copy of Octopusy? Somebody get this guy a cart, quick! Sweet! I've never even heard of anyone having that! Octo-Stan

YES! SOMEBODY ELSE IN THE WORLD JUST USED THE TERM "PISSA!" Thank you NB, you are the king! I'm the only person in this state (KY; that I know of) who even has a clue what that means! Rock on! Pissa Stan

Its very fitting! Pretty cool, dude. I'm trying to decide on a custom image for myself, Pitfall Harry there is cool and all, but I want something different!

Yeah, it looks to me like some general funk and crud from being handled by crumb-gobbling children. I'm going to get that GOO-GONE stuff tomorrow and give that a try. If all else fails I'll lightly apply that tempting alcohol....It is just Barnstorming after all. Scrubbing Stan

Caution: Playing Atari may be hazardous to your health

Thanks, skatepunk! I really didn't think anybody paid attention to those. I do it mostly to amuse myself, but I'm glad you get a kick out of them too! hee hee! I'll try to keep them fresh and entertaining! Blushing Stan -
I'm working my off this weekend to get all the information together. There are a few secrets I'm still trying to ferret out, like what i mention in my last post about the green castle. The maps are done, but I need to get them into a drawing program and clean them up a little (they are hand drawn, believe me screen-shot maps would be a headache for me and you). I'm looking at first of next week (10.15.01) at the earliest. I've still to get the actual site registered and all. After the Indenture/Adventure maps, I'm going to begin work on the definitive Private Eye strategy guide. Thanks for the interest! Stan

So do you have to swap them in between events? How do you do that. Please, I'm addicted to this game, but can't go through joysticks like candy. Olympic Stan -
Adventure takes this category, hands down. Fun as you can get, but bland in the visuals. Runner up goes to Zaxxon. I LOVE this game, but as we all know it is a disappointing port. Despite its ugliness, I play it non-stop. (Those stupid looking bird-face things and the pretty in pink ground turrets are the worst)

The hot, wet q-tip did nada, zip, nothing, but make my label wet. The damage may be permanent. I'm tempted to try the alcohol just a little and see what happens. Maybe I'll grab some GOO-GONE tomorrow....

Is shelving out of the question at this point? Shelves would keep the weight of your collection off the floor (of course it would transfer it to the walls). The shelves would take less room than the cubes (I think) and you could dictate the spacing. Are these carts in boxes or loose? Maybe you can strike some kind of balance between shelving and bookcase storage to even out the weight. If all else fails, just remove your furniture and build new furniture out of the Atari goods. Good Luck Stan

I just about pulled a muscle in my arm playing Decathlon. By the time I did the 1500m dash, I had to stop and take a nap. Who's idea was it to make this game so physically draining? I'd get less of a work out doing the actual Decathlon! Sheesh. Not only that, but I think I need a new controller now. Has anybody ruined a joystick playing this game. I mean its fun and all, but should you have to have an extra controller just for Decathlon? Ouch Physical Therapy Stan

YIPES! I'm going to give the q-tip a go here in a minute. Thanks for the help!

That's what the How To on this site said. I was thinking a slightly damp q-tip gently applied. Will this do it or will it also damage the label?
-
You still looking to unload in bulk or are you willing to break some things up?
-
No offense taken, Snider-man. I wish I had the kind of $$$ to spend like that. Do you see any of the $$$ from Venture II when Hozer sells them for you or did you get your $$$ up front?
-
Thanks. I'm still a little nervous about putting alcohol on the label itself. Has anyone done this with success?

Hey. Anybody know why I go into the invisible maze inside the green castle, carrying an object and the screen flashes? I have EVERY item save for the #4. i took the magnet in and NOTHING was drawn to it. I've tried the bridge, but can find no doorless rooms. What is hiding in there? Update: The mapping is finally done! I'm trying to finish up compiling secrets and such. Then I'll put up a website so everyone who wants the solution and maps can get them.

The FLEA came up big today (well, ok, not really), but I did find a Barnstorming cart (hey, its the first cart I have ever found here in KY) And the guy who had it says he has 3 systems and over 100 games and he'll hook me up. (I know we've all heard these stories before, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, who knows.) ANYWAY. I know this has been asked before, but I cannot find where it was, the cart has some "dirt" on the label and I'd like to try to clean it up. How do I do that without destroying the label? Finally found something Stan

yeah, that Track ball was a menace. CC is a total A+. One of my all time faves to play. I hate those stupid trees!!!!

The best thing about Pitfall II's graphics was how smooth everything looked. The mix of colors really made it stick out. Solaris was awesome when it came out. It was the coolest looking space game I had ever seen. Those are probably the best I can think of right now.

Hey, Snider-man, I'm willing to go $5 for a game that was produced 20+ years ago and is in demand among a small community of people. I just can't see 10x that amount for any Atari game. Then again, I'm not totally into the collecting aspect of the hobby. Just my opinion. I didn't complain about not being able to get to the CGE (mostly because I didn't know about it) and I'm not complaining about it now so much as I am shocked about the price of the game in general. It just doesn't seem to make sense when you compare it to modern games that cost the same. I understand the dude had to work hard to produce it, I totally feel for that, but $50 still sounds steep! Your game (Venture II kids, its cool) doesn't cost $50! Not even the treasure boxed ones you made. (by the way, can I still order a copy of Venture II?) Bargain Stan

I think you have blurred the lines a little too much. According to your criteria: quote: Originally posted by King Atari: Both have you on quest, obviously. In both of them you need to pick up objects to continue the journey. just about any RPG is a rip of Swordquest. I haven't played all of the KQ series, but the ones I have played were decent and pretty different. Swordquest, it seems to me, was more about simple puzzle/action challenge and placing items in the correct rooms according to the story in the comic. Kings Quest was more about sub-quests, more complicated puzzles, character/environment interactions and internal storylines. There weren't too many action challenges. Then again, I haven't played them all so there could be similarities I am missing... Stan Quest
