But did anyone Buy a DVD player when they first came out? Everyone I know bought a PS2 as their first DVD player. Then later they may have picked up another when they became so cheap, they were giving them away when you signed up for a new bank account...

I was so excited about the DVD format I purchased one of the first available in 1997. It came with Batman and Robin.

I jumped in DVD a little later, 2001 when I decided to try it. My first player was a GE branded 3 disc player. Right now I have a sony 400 disc player and my gripe is no one makes 1000+ disc player.
