not sure how much they are really worth but I'd like to offer $100 via Paypal for one working system with battery cover, more if it's been recapped and/or LCD modded. I have a Turbo Everdrive so I won't need region mod.

Modular case for sale. I have changed the way I store my carts
7800fan replied to mkiker2089's topic in Auction Central
Those case looks like it uses the same notch and groove system for interlinking as the smaller 4 carts unit. Different size I assume? -
So can the game ROM be stored unencrypted for faster loading? Or is the ROM required to be encrypted?

Gamestop to buy back and sell retro consoles
7800fan replied to Master Phruby's topic in Classic Console Discussion
25 cents for your gold Legend of Zelda cart... 25 cents for your Dragon Warrior 3, 25 cents for Stadium Events, can't buy Tengen Tetris in the trash it goes... $3 for your NES deck with power adapter and a controller... Only 12 year old who can't use eBay and 72-year old grandparents who don't know how to use eBay would sell valuable classic games for a pittance. Are they still going to hog every top loading NES that comes their way for game testing like Funcoland did? -
TG-16 version does have higher res and/or more color than SMS version and NES version. So they would look much better while staying close to original gameplay. I haven't done any of later FZ games though.

Isn't most of the ROM loaded into RAM before playing? During the long wait at power on? Any cheat would have to be hacked at ROM itself with a flash cart or installed inside by the CPUs. Someone has done hacking for SMS games and TG-16 games over at Krikzz forum using GGG or via hex editior. I'm sure Lynx ROMs can be hacked for cheat when Lynx flash cart is plentiful.

Nice Gameboy hack but I think I would prefer something a little wider like Lynx or GBA for hacking in a Pi. They are more comfortable to hold than the tall Gameboy. When I hold, even the old fat model, my fingers often overlap on the back and it can get warm and sweaty back there. Then I run the risk of slipping at an important jump or shoot time and getting killed instead.

The LCD mod for Lynx 1? It's available now. The video? Soon And yes Game Gear I hope.

unhappy I missed it and no new production is planned. Completed eBay auction shows they have sold for as low as $75 so I am watching for normal auction and not pricey reseller.

AA doesn't have every single ROM. They deliberately left out a few ROMs such as those by Activision and Imagic. -

re: blurry image. Ever try to scan a cart PCB? Most scanners are very nearsighted and can only scan what's on the glass with clear and sharp image. Anything more than a few mm off the glass ends up out of focus and blurry. With some EPROM, the surface of the chip can be about 0.2 inches (about 5mm) from the surface of the PCB. So that picture is legit. It is still debatable if it's a fake proto from EPROMs or not. -

Second picture shows a pair of EPROM, 2764 or 8KB each. They appear to be soldered on so it may be early production cart before mask rom was made. -
You wouldn't want a car that drives fine for 3 or 4 days, then suddenly it just quits running and leaves you stranded? If such car was sold, there'd be nasty outcry for recall and fix. Some people don't want hardware that has a reoccurring small one in a million chance of failing.

The Official Turbografx 16 Thread!

There's also a cheat built in the game that you could skip to the end zone with maxed everything and then it becomes easy to finish the game. Graphic wise it's decent. Gameplay wise, it's easy to see why this was a free game, they would have had a hard time selling it otherwise. -
Still have my sets from years ago. I do know I have the complete series 1 and 2 and I do remember a few variations which resulted in 3 cards of the same design but 3 different names (and checklist card with different names) such as series 2 Fran Fran / Schizo Fran

Cassette case is bigger and less convenient for carrying around if you have lots of games. Still nice looking cover!

All TE and its Japanese counterpart PC Engine GT will require recap even if it seems working. A lot of them suffered from shit cap syndrome, like Game Gear, and will fail if it hasn't failed yet. <--- still looking for a cheap TE or GT to play on the road. Need to find about $100 first -

Now the hunt begins: finding ROMs (no intro set would be best), sorting them, removing O's, B's, and other duplicate ROMs. Then separating J and U and separating them by letters like #, A, B, C (or group them like A-E, F-H, I-M) -
I have Eric's EotB with working save, still CIB. $20,000 CIB Lemmings $5,000 Blue Lightning demo $5000 Would help if the OP also specified price range in addition to list of game.

First: is the backlight on? Then you are sure the ribbon connector is plugged in correctly? The cable needs to go all the way in and straight or the LCD won't work. If it's the backlight, on Lynx II they can be unplugged, check that. If it's plugged in, As long as the sound works, it's probably safe to remove the LCD and the bulb and get the new LCD installed.

SOLD Atari Lynx Eye of the Beholder and AVP Prototypes
7800fan replied to 4ever2600's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Either of you notice the original thread was started in 2007? I doubt that EotB and AvP are still available for sale from the original poster. -
And ebay is probably watching to seller, checking other communication for fee padding. Any fee not part of original listing is not collected by eBay via FVF and eBay doesn't want seller to get fee-free money.

I have mine set to 320°C for most of the work. It's high enough to melt most through-hole solders without causing serious damage to the PCB. It works mostly on tin/lead solder though for pre-RHoS electronics. Lead-free solder still gives me trouble and I need to turn the heat up some more.
