FS NES REPRODUCTON CUSTOM MADE MULTI GAMES
7800fan replied to carlo3do's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Those are probably not his own real pictures. Google image searches shows many hits on one web site: http://www.gamesstationretro.com/index.php?cPath=21_31_147 Same background pattern but user ID doesn't seem like there's any connection. -

PSX/PSOne does not, they are pre-Component era and only does RGB at best. I'd have to recheck my PS2 for the setting. -
Looks a bit harder to solder on Lynx 1 because of the LCD connector. On Lynx 2, the pins are staggered which allows some room to solder on wires or remove the old connector and use the original holes. On Lynx 1, there are no holes so one does need to be careful when soldering on wires. I'd suggest solid core wires only for the Lynx 1 mod like an old IDE-80 conductor ribbon cable. With stranded wires, you may have a stray strand or 2 that could jump across the solder pads or even bridge connection with solder. I'd offer solder service but I have never done Lynx 1 so if I foul up anything, I'd be out money for replacement Lynx 1 board.

Recommend me a new (and by 'new' i mean classic) console!

There is one drawback to Genesis with Power Base Converter and 32x, both won't work with each other. 32x blocks something that SMS mode needs so you need to unplug 20 cables, plug the video back into Genesis, move the 32x off, then mount the converter. -
What do you get if you crossed Pong, Space Invaders, and Pac Man game? http://www.gamnesia.com/news/a-new-fan-project-turns-pong-pac-man-and-space-invaders-into-one-intense-ga#.VSdg3PnF_xU

On Saturn? Pop back cover off, pop battery out, pop new one in. The small space may be hard to work in if you have big hands but it's far easier than replacing one in a DC or Gamecube.

Won't be as big as they were in '80s for sure. Some kids are turned off by low res graphic, insane game difficulty, and the fact those old games can cost about the same as new games for XBox One or PS4. For some kids, the old games aren't "cool" at all. Not to mention the old games aren't portable like mobile games are so it'd hard for one to log an Atari 2600, a CRT TV, and a portable generator to play it on the run. Probably the same reason I haven't seen anyone carry around a yugo-sized Boom Box in the last 2 decades. Same reason Walmart doesn't carry LPs even though there's still production and still (weak) demand for old needle based music that people claims sound better than CD and MP3 players.

I found a couple odd cables at Goodwill today. One is a Playstation multi-video to composite + audio cable that is about 8" long. Only eight inches. I suspect it was originally for PS2 with LCD module. All of PSOne LCD were direct connect and I have never seen official LCD module for older PSX. The second one is giving me trouble. It also has Playstation multi-video connector but it comes to 6 RCA plugs: blue, green, 2 red, white, and yellow. The one red, white, and yellow works for composite but I can't figure out the green, blue, and red plug. It is not component for sure, PSOne and PS2 gave me TV "no signal" error. I thought it may be RGB? The only old school RGB is my Commodore monitor with 9 pin D sub connector so I'd need to hack a rig to plug that in and check with both PSOne and PS2. -
The reason I mentioned getting this locked, there is really not much point. Most of us knows that Ax had gone MIA after taking money and talking about it won't get him to come back. It he could, he would have already tried to make a post. Something is obviously keeping him away from the internet.

By default, yes. Not only do they shove it, they basically ram it up where the sun doesn't shine without using lube. I've had it disabled in my preference and in listing and it still gets turned on. I've managed to have a few listing up right now with no GSP, and I've made it clear I am not using GSP in the description. At one time in the past I've delibrately listed my stuff with "errors" in the shipping box to be 1 oz, 1x1x1 inches to get them to calculate as little as possible. Didn't work, they just refunded the buyer and discarded the stuff if it costs more to forward than what they got. When they do forward it, they repack in as small as possible after checking the content matches the description and finding what country made the item. I shipped a bunch of 32X games that were all CIB and in near mint condition. The buyer in France got crushed boxes and when he showed the picture of the box, it was different from what I used. On eBay forum there's numerous complaint about this such as poorly protected item getting wet and damaged, valuable CIB game ended up only cart in buyer's hand because the box and manual was probably too big to repack, etc etc. They probably would smash a 1,000 year old ming vase to make it fit smaller box. Buyer often can't see the final amount until after they commit, then they get the sticker shock when eBay decides the Combat cart is 10 pounds, is over size limit of 84", and requires 50 dollars shipping. Right now I do state I won't use GSP and I will go out of the way to avoid them. Even if I have to invoice the buyer separately through PP, manually mark the listing as paid, turning off UID, and shipping it direct. Taking an extra 5 minutes to fill out in detail the custom form is far better than buyer's aggravation at missing boxes, wet stuff, and damaged stuff. GSP is fine for the lazy seller who don't care what happens to the good and doesn't sell often enough that a neg or 2 would hurt the seller at all. But for 99% of us, GSP is a scam.

Seller posted a before picture of good packing, buyer posts an after picture of a very small box with shit packing. When both buyer and seller gets together to complain, it's almost always eBay's fault. -
It would be believable if the seller did not have "working Intellivision systems" listed at the same time as untested system. This seller clearly knows how to turn on the system, has several Intellivision games (on eBay) to test with, and there is no reason for this one single console to go untested. Tested working console always go for more money. I did ask the seller why this one was untested when he has working Intellivision systems. He hasn't responded at all. The most likely scenario is that the seller did in fact test it and couldn't get it to work at all, and knows that broken system sells for less than untested system and is counting on noob eBay buyer who doesn't check seller's inventory before buying the broken system.3

I think this needs to be locked. I haven't dealt with Ax before but it does sound like unfortunate case of someone falling off the Earth after taking the money. We will never know what happened to him or why he hasn't responded or repaid what he still owed. I've lost my share of money in the past. People on forums have complained about "that someone who took money and left" but complaining usually won't get anywhere. Filing police report can help if the person lives in the same country and you are sure it's a scam. Whether you want to file complaint with Ax is up to you. But complaining won't get him to come back for update or to offer refund or anything.

TG-16 does not do component naively. Only 15KHz RGB and most USA TV do not take RGB. Some that takes VGA port expects 31KHz and usually won't work with 15KHz signal. My guess is someone goofed, someone meant composite, or there's an RGB to Component converter somewhere. TG-16 (and all PC Engine variants) can do composite and RGB from the expansion connector. Hack will be needed to get RGB out of a Duo or to get S-video from any of the consoles.

If you checked eBay forum, there are complaints about well packed goods getting repacked into smaller packages to cut on shipping cost. Also it seems they need to verify what's in the box matches eBay listing (ie eBay seller listed a book, the box better have a book and not a rock), and lastly, to check for detail such as country of manufacture for custom purpose. If the folks at GSP facility can save a few dollars by getting rid of excess padding, it works for them. Unfortunately the folks are only paid McMinimum wage to process and handle quickly. I've seen story about one valuable vintage doll getting packed well by the original seller, and the buyer got it in a different, smaller box with no padding and it broke. Another seller complained about sending a $250 CIB rare game and the buyer got the cart only, box and manual nowhere to be found. If they could, they would probably smash a 1,000 year old ming vase because the shards fit smaller box and costs less to ship. -
Anticipation Not as dangerous as Monopoly but it can still ruin friendship

Sorry but it's Star Wars now. The new "Wrath of Khan" remake ended up knocking Star Trek 5 out of the #1 shittiest movie spot. When that happens, it's time to switch.

Makes me cackle evilly. Playing this on new LCD is so much nicier!!! I should get a picture as proof. I should sell the box I got with the game, it may go for a lot since it's OOP and limited run.

eBay Auction -- Item Number: 301426213505 untested but seller has lots of Intellivision games and 2 working Intellivision systems up so it's very likely the Sears model was tested, found non-working, and seller is trying to pass it off as untested for more money. IMO sneaky and dishonest. Both Sears version and Intellivision version can use the same RF cable, same F-type adapter, same Intellivision games, and uses same 120v power source. My guess is it was found to be broken, and he's selling it "untested" to try and get more money. Only idiot would sell "UNTESTED" while selling working systems and working games at the same time.

So What Did You Guys Get For Easter?
7800fan replied to VectorGamer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
A few M&M bags. I still got a few unopened bags from Christmas 2013 and I'm pretty sure chocolate don't age like wine. They stay mostly the same. -
QFT and not just TG-16 but many other systems that never reached mainstream status like Neo Geo, 3DO, Virtual Boy, etc. Some of those games are fetching more than $100. And woe to anyone who tries to get all 3 CDi Zelda games, you'll get laughed at.

Looks good! I might get this one instead of other Lynx flash cart, there aren't many games I don't have that has ROM available.
-
Just a crazy idea. New LCD for Microvision!!! Be able to play it in the dark! Microvision LCD is stupidly simple compared to Lynx and GG LCD. 16 rows and 16 columns all directly controlled so it is possible to tap into all 32 lines, compute the image, and feed it into new LCD. Maybe even with variable color (ie instead of black squares on white, have white on black or other color combination) I'll take the GG LCD first when it's out. The RGB mod out there does not handle 2 different sizes gracefully and when fed to monitor (or with new LCD), Game Gear games ends up shrunk while SMS retains full size. I've asked, the creator of RGB board admitted there's not enough processing power left in his FPGA to manually resize GG images to eliminate black borders.

#1 if it's an auction listing and it has bid already, seller can't revise to change shipping option even to remove GSP. If it has no bid or if it's a BIN, it can be revised to remove GSP. Sounds like a bunch of inexperienced sellers. If the listing ends and it was set to allow GSP but not offer other international shipping option, the buyer is stuck with GSP. If the seller did offer additional international shipping option, it is possible for seller and buyer to bypass GSP. I just won't use GSP in my listing and I will revise or cancel listing if GSP is somehow stealth-enabled. If the seller has GSP selected in the listing above, and choose no alternative option, it can't be changed after the auction ends and the buyer is stuck with GSP. But if the seller has selected the other 2 shipping options, buyer can use that instead of GSP. Again, I avoid allowing GSP in my listing. Too many horror stories of ruined valuable items and upset buyers. It is much safer to ship directly to buyer than to let those idiots working at McMinimum wage repack priceless item into tiny packages, losing important paper and boxes along the way and not protecting the original item as well as I can. Plus when I sell direct to buyers, buyer has a better chance of avoiding taxes while shipping through GSP it is impossible to avoid taxes.
