  1. Also, I wanted to add that I didn't have any Linux code knowledge at all. Although things were simple to get up and running through wifi so I could shoot my collection of roms straight to the device. Also there are other ways of doing this I'm told but honestly wireless is hard to beat!
  2. Just wanted to give my quick impressions of Byte Knights finished product. I'll be honest and tell you that I'm fairly new to the Intellivision world. I had one as a kid but didn't have a gigantic collection. Recently I've been rediscoving the system and it's treasure trove of fun and under appreciated games. So I wanted to be able to enjoy my favorite games with great video quality but have the authentic Intellivision controller in my hand while playing. So I'm very happy to say that this device completely delivered! This thing has plugnplay ease of use. Everything just works. The colors are so bright and vibrant. No bleeding whatsoever. Everything I've gone through plays at the correct speed with all the correct sounds (to the best of my knowledge). I just don't have the time to put one of these things together myself right now so I'm really glad that Byte Knight and a bunch of you guys did all the hard work to figure out the finer details. Also this thing is very nicely put together. Damn good work Byte Knight. Money well spent! sirtris
  3. Thank you! I guess I'll either do the audio/video mod or replace the modulator completely. Don't have a lot of confidence in my soldering skills but I have a few friends that could probably help if I get in trouble. I really appreciate everyones help and advice. I'm a little frustrated with my purchase but maybe It'll get going eventually.
  4. Didn't help at all. Simply went from a soft crackling almost sounds like percussion version of in game music to a constant hiss sounds of older TVs in between channels.
  5. I tried to to tune the modulator. Definitely found the sound adjust screw. No luck. I went ahead and ordered a new one from the site. Maybe getting a little out of my league here. Is it hard to replace it?
  6. I noticed it says Aquarius and Intellivision only for the new modulator. I take it that would work for my Sears unit? And is it worth cracking this thing open to tune or adjust the modulator? If so I guess I'd have to desolder the sides of the shielding.
  7. Okay. I wiggled the power switch to death. I don't think that's it. Also I did use the electrical contact cleaner aerosol spray. Sprayed inside both ends of it to get to the contacts. I removed the screws from the controller holder tray and pulled out the entire box that contains the cpu and RF box. It's soldered and sealed from the sides completely enclosed. I noticed something strange about the circuit board near the cartridge port. It appears that the heat shielding metal is making contact with a row of solder points by the cartridge. I realize that this is maybe an intentional ground but it seems strange that so many would be touching the shielding metal. Anyone else seen this before?
  8. Damn... Still no sound. The only area to clean with the contact cleaner is the power switch correct? I'll try to move it around some more to see if I can get any different results.
  9. I did notice that it was finicky sometimes when switching the power on resulting in a black screen- sometimes the reset button would cure it.
  10. I've got a good feeling about the power switch suggestions. I'll take it apart when I get home tonight.
  11. Thanks Intellivision dude. Will keep that in mind. Although just to make sure I tried on another TV as well. Had a nice clean picture but sound that was straight out of a Rice Krispy box. Snap crackle and pop. ?
  12. Okay. Will try this tomorrow when I get home from work. I guess I'll have to disassemble the unit and find a dial of some sort by the RF out?
  13. Okay just a quick update. I did try the controller idea. No luck with that. Same issue.
