  1. OK, this is it...the final stretch in my attempt at building a complete TI-Branded 99/4a Software Module library. I have omitted from my wishlist any titles that do not have a known or complete PHM #, or titles that never existed in a released cartridge (Choplifter and WingWar for example). If anyone is looking for a loving home for any of the following seven remaining titles (w/manual sweetens the pot), let's talk turkey (or cash, your choice). PHM3000 - Diagnotic PHM3045 - Electrical Engineering: Circuit Analysis 1 PHM3066 - Buchungjournal PHM3085 - Computer Math Games III (also looking for I, IV and V, but hey, that's just dreaming in technicolor) PHM3092 - Multiplication (Milliken) - this one should be an easy find, but for some reason it remains elusive PHM3185 - Word Radar PHM3213 - TI-Calc Not concerned with label/cartridge colour, as my goal is simply acquiring a single copy of each title, not a copy of each cartridge variation (for now anyway).
  2. It is also evidenced within our own community. We have had file versions of various cartridges for many many years, and with the advent of SD Floppy emulation and the nanoPEB's use of CF's (and now the FlashROM 99), load times from "disk", which originally slowed loading to a crawl, are now not perceptively slower than loading direct from a cartridge. Yet even having all these cool & groovy modern tools, many of us have bookshelves filled with hundreds of the same cartridges for titles which we already have a perfectly functional file version copy. Not sure if it is because I was already an adult when I owned my first 99, or if I just had a repressed collector inside me who has now come out to play, but no file version of cartridge based software, or massive library of memory card stored titles will ever replace the nostalgically tactile response of holding a cassette-sized plastic-encased circuit board, or flipping through an original 30 year old paper manual. And you either get that or you don't. My bank account wishes I didn't, but I do.
  3. I think I have dsk versions of all of them (except Word Radar, could never find that one on Cartridge or file), but not all in one place, so thanks!
  4. Thanks buddy, I'll check it out...I love little helper programs and nifty TSR's! From handy os enhancements to tiny proggies that fix what Microsoft breaks (they have to be the only company I know of that insists on removing/disabling key features with every "upgrade"!) Heck I even continue to use gadgets in Win 10...security concerns be damned, I love my desktop CPU and Network meters and my giant digital clock! All of them more convenient and useful than any blasted Win8/Win10 tiles! And none of them require that I log onto my Microsoft account to use them! Now tell me...which is REALLY the greater security concern - gadgets or Windows 10 itself????
  5. Noticed that with the Scholastic series too. I have a gaming rig with triple monitor surround and Steam installed, but since I've had the 99 in the dining room. whenever I get a house full of kids, it's the TI they want to play with. Even the teenagers get a kick out of the "retro" games, and although they used to always head straight into the den to fire up CoD or Portal, I'm finding more and more they battle with the kids for TI time (especially since one of them has discovered Aperture!). Kids. Fighting over computer time on a computer with no internet connection! Who'd a thunk it! Who knows, maybe 99/4A's will be THE go to Xmas gift for the younguns in my family for 2016! Bet no TI execs in 1983 imagined anyone would be saying THAT 30 years later!
  6. Any of those would do but you've been so busy helping us get to (and past) 171 entries, that I'm cool if you just relax and leave these to others. Ω just posted the link to the youtube video, so I think I'll try my hand at converting a few of 'em myself... Nice thing about coming from a country founded by two separate cultures (that don't always play nice) is that I have two long-weekend's in a row coming up...one this week-end (Fête St Jean Bapitiste) and one next weekend (Canada Day)...as long as I don't spend all 6 days playing games (and attending the string of free concerts), I should have time to convert a few!
  7. yes tis, but €923...ouch! I'm still crying watching the auction for the 99/4 with sidecars and drives draw to a close at only €199 without having bid on it! The deals for TI collectors are definitely on the Euro ebay sites. Too many speculators on this side of the pond driving prices through the roof. I got a NIB Demonstration cart for $50 (that's CAD dollars not euros or greenbacks!!) from ebay.uk, and then paid even less for a Space Patrol with manual from ebay.de. Same carts on ebay.ca or ebay.com would be well over $100US! BTW... did someone here on AtariAge score Blaine's green coffee mug with pewter TI logo...saw it once, but when I went back to buy it 10 minutes later, it was gone!
  8. With Solitaire the other day, and the 3 listed above (along with Tris II that I already had as a bin) my primary gaming activities are now covered on the same cartridge for the first time! Cool bud....many, many many thanks, but before you quit entirely... ...could we have a few of the Scott Foresman white label or DLM Academic Educational games. They are arguably some of the best looking (and fun!) games released for the 4A and since no other system has their match, they are historically important. They're also so nice to have around when I get stuck with the grandkids/great nieces/nephews on a Sunday afternoon, who are often less gentle on the cartridge port than I would like. You have certainly warned a lengthy break though!! Have a beer (Canadian or German beer only please) on us!
  9. If you're using a PC (obviously not on your phone) I HIGHLY recommend Better File Rename...write custom scripts and/or create droplets that let you rename entire directories with a single click! I consider it an essential program that should have been built into windows back with '95 (not a single uppercase extension on my system with a single "change to lowercase/extension only" command.
  10. Don't forget TI-Scramble in your list...to me it is the most impressive example of an F18 game that also runs on non-enhanced hardware - and it's easy to disable (or enable) the F18 enhancements when loading the game and actually compare the difference. Mighty jaw dropping!
  11. Grazie,Toda, Danke, Graçias, domo arigatou, Thank You, shukraan, dank je, tack, Kiitos, Merci, <insert alternate language here>
  12. If I may be so bold as to make a request, the title I miss most from having 2.7 Suite plugged in almost permanently (besides XB itself) is Solitaire. Can still load it via E/A5, but would be nice to simply have it as a menu entry
  13. WOW!! The only thing missing is a 32k sidecar! What a great hardware collection at an exceptional price!! The weight of the sidecars and external drive would make shipping prohibitively expensive though, which is probably why he is not offering international shipping. Thanks for sharing this because it (sadly) does not appear on ebay Canada or ebay US.
  14. No way would I pay $420 CAD (approx $327 US) for a 99/4 with case damage, and without a power supply (and at least one keyboard overlay), but I do love when one of these volume slider/headphone jack models makes an appearance like this one. If you're going to put cold hard cash towards a 4 this, in my mind, is the model to buy. Just something sexy about not needing a "Solid State Software" badge to cover a missing volume slider! A couple hundred bucks less (and a power cable) and I'd consider snatching this one up.
  15. Personally, I admire a Transylvanian transvestite who understands the dramatic value of pregnant pauses.
  16. Good catch (and as long as some idiots don't make the price skyrocket, it's currently at a fair value (let's face it, it's only needed for 3 games - one is a two player game and the other two are only of interest to pre-schoolers). It "enhances" the other MBX games to varying degrees (most notably the 360° joystick control in Superfly), but there is simply not enough software depth to make it worth the $150-$250 it sometimes lists for. Of course if the joystick was usable in non-MBX games, it would be a different story. It is arguably among the best joystick designs of the 1980's. I don't see any games in the pictures, just 3 keypad overlays and a single game manual (the Championship Baseball overlay is a good one to have though, since the cart is often sold pretty cheap without it). Everything else looks intact, including all the system manuals (not always included with these!) Foam on the headphones looks pretty good too. Careful though, not tested, so no guarantee it's a working unit, and since it will likely sell above the current bid, it's a major 'caveat emptor'!
  17. YOU? You made a LIST???? OMG, how unusual! <evil grin> (luv ya brother!)
  18. Include the filename of the database. DSK1.PENNIES not just DSK1
  19. < back forward > To get back to the flashrom 99 menu after running a program (if you used « Fn + » to exit) hit the cartridge's reset button while on the TI colour bar title screen.
  20. Try: INV3RT3D / N8T (ok the 8 is a stretch, but for the needs of old farts with less than fully-functional memory synapses, it works)
  21. too quick on the draw there buddy...corrected seconds after posting!!
  22. UMMMM...excuse me, but does THIS actually exist?? The game (Space Quest II, Vauhall's Revenge) was not released until 1987, so it was an unlikely candidate for a TI port! Especially by Sierra-Online themselves (systems orphaned 5 years previous don't usually attract major label developers). I'm thinking this is more likely the PC version.
  23. The topic is irrational wants, right? Well, I want to travel back in time with all these cool and groovy modern gadgets that can now be connected to vintage rigs, and get a chance to enjoy them "back-in-the-day". Imagine going back with a lotharek drive (and a healthy supply of pre-filled SD's - since they'd be a tad difficult to find in 1982) Of course being in my 20's again would be an added bonus. Unfortunately, I know for a fact (don't ask me how) that the time travel card (that will connect to a TI 99/4A's expansion port) won't be released until 2027.
