M.U.L.E. is now available in cartridge form!!!
Adam Huemer replied to Super-Genius!'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I wrote "Wrong" because IBM did not hire Electronic Arts to write it for them. Please learn reading. -
I have the suspicion this cartridge works on the Atari 400, but the .atr I have works in 800 mode only. Could anybody confirm my suspicion? Also the .atr lets you choose the starting level by pressing fire button. Is that a cracker's add-on or has this feature already been in the original cart, cause in the 5200 version it isn't?

M.U.L.E. is now available in cartridge form!!!
Adam Huemer replied to Super-Genius!'s topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
M.U.L.E. was released by Electronic Arts in 1983 on several platforms, in 1985 they converted it to the IBM PC Jr., according to rumours IBM bought the rights later. http://www.eidolons-inn.de/mule/ -

I disagree, charging $34,95!!! for a pirated copy of a 1983 Atari 8Bit game is incredibly lame. On the other hand if people are stupid enough to pay that, I couldn't care less. -
I try to convert James Bond 007 .rom file for the 5200 to .cart file using Atari800 WinPL, but it crashes the emulator. Is that a known issue? anybody knows how to handle this?

Compatiblity between 800, the XL and the XE models
Adam Huemer replied to Adam Huemer's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
thanks for reply -
I recommend Real Spectrum Windows version, very compatible, supports everything from 16K to the Russian clones, lots of options and handy to use. www.ramsoft.bbk.org/realspec.html (unreachable right now, Italian servers I guess...)

best 2600 emulator to emulate screen colours
Adam Huemer replied to Adam Huemer's topic in Emulation
as far as I remember the Z26 colours look way paler than the Stella ones. Which one does the 2600 fanatic (you!) prefer? -
best 2600 emulator to emulate screen colours
Adam Huemer replied to Adam Huemer's topic in Emulation
thanks for answer. do you know which emulator/color settings were used for screenshots here on AtariAge? -
I wonder which emulator emulates the 2600's screen colours best, which one would you suggest to use? Currently I'm using Cyberstella/StellaX. thanks in advance

Infogrames Taking Credit For Atari Arcade Classics!!
Adam Huemer replied to Gregory DG's topic in Arcade and Pinball
seems this company got really big. (I'm not watching nowadays PC market) I remember them as a software house who released really lame games on the 8bit/16bit computers. -
Okay, I have an empty disk now, but when I type in Basic the emu Atari 800 WIN (the polish one) crashes always although I restart it completely. Also when I want to load/save from basic i get error 131.
-
They are not that long. Now final questions: How can I make a 88KB ATR? and how do I save the typed-in file in Atari Basic? (never owned an Atari)
-
So am I right to say that there is simply no Atari emulator supporting tape images? And, yes, of course 20K files wont really eat space on my 15GB HD, but I am a perfectionist in these cases. The type-ins arent from Antics mag but from a German book 'Spiele für den Atari' (Games for the Atari) by Markt&Technik/Happy Computer.
-
I want to type in listings from a book. In which emulator can I save one file in a tape image?! I do not want to use an .atr disk image for a 10KB game. Does Atari800WIN support tape files somehow? And no 'executables', they are not tape files.
-
I'm using this emulator and never owned an Atari 8 bit on my own but the colours look so dark to me. Is there any chance to use a brighter colour palette with this emulator?

L.Sky is right, Activision released Park Patrol in 1984. Firebird bought the rights for many of their games like Park Patrol, River Raid, Decathlon and re-released them as budget games (mainly in 1987). This at least counts for the C64, my idea is that they coded the Amstrad/Spectrum version on their own, at least I never heard of an American company releasing games for the Spectrum.
-
Bad luck, no Atari version. Besides the 64 I also found an Amstrad and a Spectrum version in my collection.
-
This many C64 manuals, but as the games were quite equal instructions were too.. http://project64.c64.org

No, about the version A system rom, which was found in Atari 800s. Sites who offer system roms just have version B.
-
I've got an .exe of Nautilus by Synapse. It starts okay in the title screen but how do I start the game? No key or joy button give any response.
-
Hm, the 800 OS B is to be found everywhere, but I want the 800 OS A.
-
Someone tell me the exact differences between the Atari 400 and the Atari 800?! Is the 800 OS A somewhere available on the net? thanks 4 answers in advance. My video games encyclopaedia now features Atari 8 bit home computers too: ... erhrm... 2 games yet. http://pirates.emucamp.com

Enduro would be possible on the C64 but it would be far from that smooth. hmm. maybe you could make it equally smooth by using multiplexed sprites but that's a bit more difficutl to code. Where to get the Rainbow Arts CD.. most probably on ebay.de but also there it's very rare and if it pops up... expensive
