  1. sku_u,

It used to be that you could only get delivery confirmation on media mail or priority packages.  This is why a lot of people used to send single cartridges media mail.  The post office changed the policy several months ago to offer delivery confirmation on packages sent first class.  I am sure that a lot of sellers are not aware of this change.

I am guilty of forgetting to change my eBay signature template thingy that I use on my auctions. Sometimes, I fix the price but leave the Media Mail. I ship First Class even if it is a little more....sometimes it is only 10 cents difference. It is really nice that the postal service made that change, a great improvement! :)

  2. Here is a typical S&H profit for me. Usually a small Media Mail package like a video or a game or maybe even a couple games can be sent for $1.42 and I charge $2.50 but I do buy the envelopes, bubble wrap, tape, labels, boxes etc... which may not be all used on this package but the trip to Staples or Office Max every once in awhile hurts. But like someone said, you do take on the responsibility when you list it and you shouldn't charge for every little thing, also I disagree with the "hidden" S&H charges, that is absurd! I would rather take a massive loss than tell someone to pay more after the price was either stated or told to them. Anyway, I don't think I even covered any costs with listings on an auction like described there. I usually gallery so that is 55 cents to list then the Final Value then most people are doing PayPal these days so there is 30 cents or whatever plus the percentage and I am only a little over a dollar with the handling. Oh well, I guess I don't even overcharge as much as I thought I did. I don't like to go much under $2.00 S&H on anything though. Unless it can be sent in a regular envelope or something. Just my thoughts because I'm bored right now. Sorry if you read all the way down to here, I am rambling today!! 8)

  3. Totally not on topic but I still don't know what "IMO" means.  There was another I didn't know too that had an A in it or something.  I am just not up on chat, this is the only place I go other than eBay.

    IMO - In my opinion

IMHO - In my humble opinion

AFAIK - As far as I know (I think)

IIRC - If I recall correctly

    BTW - By the way

SUJBYJ - Shut up Joey Bastard You Jackass :D

    Great! Thanks a lot Joey!

Also, I just want to be clear that I think the guy is nuts with charging that much. That is ripping people off for real! What an ass!

  4. He is not kidding, he sent me that email, I don't get it. I sent the guy an email telling him what it will cost before he went to the post office but he wouldn't listen. I know how much it costs, I've sent countless packages to Jason in the past.

He is making up for the bad timing of his auction in charging extra for the shipping IMO.

Am I the only person left who doesn't rip people off on shipping ?  :ponder:

I don't think I really rip people off but I do add a handling fee to my auctions. I am not ashamed to admit that I try to cover the bubble wrap, envelopes, boxes if not Priority and some of the nasty fees that it cost me to sell the item....not the whole thing, just some. For instance, I try to get around $1.00 - $1.50 extra depending but it is always in the auction so everyone can plainly see before they bid. Sometimes I sell stuff that I know I won't make much on too but this way, the people have the choice of getting something if they need it since while they may not realize it, they are helping me pay the fee to list it. If you have a store, you have to account for your overhead when you put the prices on stuff. I even see someplaces that will charge you 30 cents or 35 cents to use a Debit card...like a gas station or something. But, I am in Phoenix and it's weird some places. I don't know but do know this....

THE WORST THING ABOUT EBAY IS PACKING STUFF UP AND GOING TO THE POST OFFICE!

So, at least help pay some of those PayPal and eBay fees....those kill!!

  5. Sorry just donated a Strategy X to someone else.  :(

No worries, I truly am spending too much on Atari. Just last night, I got a Sir Lancelot single cart only which maybe I paid too much for but that makes 3 XONOX singles. I got to chill out, I don't think I will be bidding anymore on the complete Waterworld. :( I have the cart already but I just have to have the other stuff. The kids are now playing Pooyan after having a Marine Wars "war". Cool! :D

  6. Check this out,

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...egory=3528&rd=1

I just got Pooyan with the instructions in the mail and I don't know if you guys/gals seen this seller before but there was the name "R.O.B." in pen on just about every cart they had but I needed this one and thought old Rob might have skipped this one or said the hell with it since it is a rather dark label. No sir, the end part of the label is white and that's right where he has it. :)

The instructions however are in good to very good condition and other than the marking on the cart, all is well. Pooyan still has a welcome place in my collection. That's 2 Konami's for me now with my Marine Wars cart only. :D

CPU? You have some Konami's laying around ready for donation to my charity, right?

  7. Forget this project on Novice. I am on level 4 now which is actually 104 and I'm tired. 913090 is the score. I guess I will go to a cool million to see what happens. Probably just one more 1. :)

    Expert is next.

Yep.....I'm done and it didn't roll over at a million, the screen has enough room for that but not for levels over 100. Time for me to get to work on eBay a little bit and maybe clean up the hell-hole the kids made for me. :x

  8. Hi! I think I am on the easiest novice setting so that is why I am still playing but this game rocks and am just wondering what your high score is on novice. I have been playing now for awhile and have it on Pause. I am on Level 56 with 488590 points and 4 ships in reserve. I had to give my hand a little break. Really fun game and a good conversion from the coin-op in my opinion.

  9. Hello,

Looking to buy this DVD used. Must be the original DVD and not a duplicate. Trying to save a little money by not buying a new one.

    Thanks!

    Ditto..... me too! 8)

No, really I did see the price and it is quite high on the website. I wonder if the DVD is any good?

  10. I didn't realize it makes a big difference but when you are talking about hundreds of thousands and/or millions of copies, I see how it could impact the profit margin. I was just going through all of my instructions tonight and was looking at the variations I have. I like to have both the B&W and the regular on the manuals and sometimes they look completely different. Like I have an Activision Dolphin that is very plain looking. And, the white Atari boxes that I have seen are crazy, can you imagine seeing that hanging at the toy store. Not very attractive. :P

The blue labels seem to usually be in poor condition but I guess all the Activision's have label problems. Froggo seems to have about the best labels but the worst games.

  11. lol

BTW, the entire structure has to be removed from the land.  Apparently, asbestos and lead paint were partly to blame, and it failed inspection.  So the buyer also has to pay to remove the whole thing PLUS bring it up to code if it is going to be set on other land.

    $$$

    If they pay

  12. The auction was done as a joke. :)

      -Bry

So, are the bids a joke too. That was my point, the people who are bidding on this....the last I saw the auction was over 5 dollars!

    People are funny! :D

  13. I think that seller is from the deep woods of Georgia or the Amazon.  Nuff said.   :P

Yeah but what about the people bidding on it? Wonder where they are from?

  14. Hey! I know I just posted a thread here but I have a question about an auction. I just won this:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...&category=15686

and am wondering where it came from, how did people get it? It does have a copyright on it and ATARI CLUB but since no one else was really bidding on it, now I am wondering why. Perhaps everyone knows this is a "fake" or something like that. Maybe, these are common. I won it already so I guess it doesn't matter much now but if anyone knows anything about it, let me know. Thanks!! :)
