  1. I really need a ColecoVision bluetooth controller. 8bitdo makes some great PCB wireless drop-in kits for Sega Genesis, NES, SNES and PSX so feesibly if someone could design a PCB with bluetooth and a 9-pin bluetooth receiver dongle for the controller port we could have wireless CV vintage controllers for the modern age. Something that I could really use as my couch is 12 feet away from my TV and I have cats that like to chew on cables.
  2. Ok this might be old news that may have been posted here before somewhere but I just stumbled across this and… well… WOW. Somebody has an axe to grind. http://nerdlypleasures.blogspot.com/2018/11/the-collectorvision-phoenix-part-2-fpga.html?m=1
  3. He’s squatting on it because he knows the trademark has value and to the ire of this community specifically. If I were collectorvision I would have traded him those Phoenix’s for rights to the name.
  4. I don’t understand why Collectorvision sold them to that douchebag Cardillo in the first place unless it was to smooth things over. And you had to expect a markup from Cardillo. I certainly would not have given him my support.
  5. Lol Chris Cardillo is… wait for it… reselling the CollectorVision Phoenix’s he bought up from CollectorVision! ????????? https://coleco-colecovision.myshopify.com/collections/all
  6. This is precisely what I suspected would happen when I heard they purchased them. They’ll just acquire the technology and resell it as their own and say they own the copyright. They’ll rebrand it as Coleco HD or something. Take all the credit.
  7. Or maybe they got it and it didn’t work on their TV too so they decided to offload it. ?
  8. Ugh I already have that scaler for my Colecovision. That really kind of defeats the entire point of upgrading to the Phoenix then as all of the video is being scaled through that box which is what I was looking forward to eliminating. I read it coukd be an HDCP compliance issue with the HDMI cable not supporting it? Maybe get an HDMI 3.0 cable instead of the one that was included?
  9. No idea what any of that means. Nothing was updated out of box. Why would these not have shipped with current firmware installed? In any case if it needs updated how would I go about doing this?
  10. Ah! Thank you! That sure was deceiving. I was afraid it was going to jack it up. The last thing I wanted to do was crack the case open and jack it up. Ok so I got it off and the tension spring was off from the recessed slot on the hinge. Put it back. It worked. Put a cartridge in and pulled it out and it came out of the groove again.
  11. The problem is the lower half of the sticker on mine is covering right over the case seam so even if I unscrew it will crease the sticker when I have to lift it back to see what’s going on inside.
  12. something wrong with the spring not pushing it back up? If I turn the unit upside down it closes again but if I push it down it stays down. I am beyond frustrated after waiting so long and this is what I get. I can’t even crack the case open because it will ruin the sticker on the front.
  13. Not only that but after pulling out the cartridge the door slot appears to be broken. Strike 2. I am NOT happy. ?
  14. Well boo just hooked upmy Phoenix I get sound no picture at all. Same issue on different HDMI ports. My Samsung QLED does not recognize a source signal. Audio is going through my Yamaha receiver.
  15. Received one of my Phoenix’s today. Hope the other one is on its way.
  16. Oh a retro silver ColecoVision styled slipcover would look awesome
  17. Any updates on the Phoenix? Last update in January said it was shipping end of March and here we are.
  18. It’s 2021 and the website is still offline
  19. They literally copy/pasted the same e-mail they sent out in October. Nothing has changed.
  20. It’s like when Coleco promised the computer expansion module for the Colecovision but didn’t release it until after the video game crash and by then it was already too late. Coleco went bankrupt because of it. I’m still reading about all of the bugs. The second run has been delayed as a result but they are addressing some of those bugs so they can deliver an improved core so I don’t mind the delay to fix the issues. But yeah a LOT was promised in the Phoenix marketing sales pitch they have yet to fulfill that reminds me of the sales and marketing pitch for the Adam. The big question is IF/WHEN? Yet I keep seeing preorders for new homebrew games and wondering why Phoenix support hasn’t been the primary focus. We need more console games directly supported by the FPGA/SGM on the Phoenix. I’d love to see more classic games get SGM enhanced like Time Pilot 84 in all of its arcade glory. New Phoenix controllers instead of using Sega gamepads. There’s an opportunity to take the Phoenix and Colecovision to the next level it could have been had it continued in 85. Time will tell but I’d hate to see tge Phoenix not realize its full potential as promised and turn into just another Adam.
  21. If it was strictly about money then they would still be taking more orders for the Phoenix and doing more runs. Orders for the second run have closed. That’s it or so they say. Still scratching my head that they will sell to Cardildo. That’s like sleeping with the enemy. If I had heard about this before placing my orders I might have reconsidered.
  22. I just don’t understand why you would sell to the already knowing unfriendly competition who is no doubt going to copy it for their own nefarious marketing purposes under the Coleco brand. That Chris whathisfucking name is a sonofabitch. I wouldn’t give him the time of day.
  23. Yeah that website is so 1994. I have a really hard time navigating and trying to find what I’m looking for. But if that’s how he wants to run it good for him.
  24. Simply stunning! Can’t wait for this! Will it have voice synthesis?
