  1. Thanks, I'll start hunting for the other one. -Chuck
  2. Mine is different than CPUWIZ's, it looks like the cart in the AA database and it appears to be glued together. Anybody know how to get it apart without breaking it? -Chuck
  3. I have a new Ghostbusters II I've never been able to play. I'll check and see if mine is an eprom too. Thanks CPUWIZ for sharing that, and thanks for the conversion Thomas. -Chuck
  4. Hello sailor, Sorry, I couldn't help it. Zork is always with me. Most eprom programmers will let you compare the contents of the eprom with your binary file to assure you burned an accurate image. I'd check that along with the solder connections. BTW which burner do you use? Just in case, the chip faces the rear of the Atari when the board is plugged in the console. -Chuck
  5. The 2600 games I currently play most are - Marble Craze A Better Pac-Man Adventure Pac-Invaders Combat Rock I'm sure Thrust + will sit atop my Atari with these when it gets here. -Chuck
  6. You don't exactly have to pour it. A few little dabs is all you need. In this hobby everyone should learn to solder, it's a valuable skill. Plus the smell of soldering is one of life's major joys. -Chuck
  7. Amen brother Inky, I lurk more than post, but I visit AA almost every day. All dealings I had with Randy have gone well, I have bought several things from him over the years with no problem. He did ask me if he could make and sell copies of Pac-Invaders even though at the time I was still selling the original 25 copies on my site. I said sure, I was always happy when somebody wanted a copy regardless of where they got it. I even encouraged people to make their own. The whole game was an experiment in dissassembly, modification, and reassembly that turned out well. I certainly wasn't expecting to make anything from it. I really would like to see things worked out between Thomas and Randy so that we can all go back to playing games. These guys are both major contributors to the hobby, I'd hate to lose either one. -Chuck
  8. angrybrit, That rots! It isn't as easy as it looks and the instructions while good, are not 100% clear. Did you remove the wires, clean up the solder and try it without the Afterburner? I'll be first in line for the GC adapter. -Chuck
  9. CPUWIZ, I bought a new front cover from Lik-Sang molded to fit the afterburner and the potentiometer. It is exactly the same color as my original and the pot is just under the screen. They did a nice job, it fit perfectly. -Chuck
  10. Rob, Alex and Lee said it better than I could. I am looking forward to seeing the game in it's unfinished state. There are quite a few Cubicolor copies out there. Even a limited release gets recreated, especially if it is a great game. Cubicolor was released by CCE in Brazil as Cubo Magico. The copies may not be as valuable in the secondary market as a signed original from you, but to those of us who just want to play the games that isn't nearly as important. Thanks for the games, you've done some great work. -Chuck
  11. Anyone else do the Afterburner light modification to their GBA? I did mine last night and it actually makes the GBA useable. I can play Castlevania now. The install took about 1.5 hours and it works better than I thought it would. I'm glad I wired in the dimmer circuit, full brightness is not always needed. -Chuck
  12. That is cool! Reever Raad sounds a lot like two weird NTSC games that I picked up a couple of years ago. Spaidder Fight and Seea Gueast. What does the front lable look like? -Chuck
  13. The only bar code program I ever saw was the sample program that was packed with it. -Chuck
  14. Rob, My original one is the model with no channel select, the spring style sticks and the grey power adapter. The spring joysticks do make that sweet click sound when the switches activate. I've never seen any of those sticks with the Atari logo on the end intact. I don't think ours lasted over a couple of weeks. All the heavy consoles I've ever had were chaannel 3 only. I don't think the serial number thing is off topic, we were still talking original heavy Sunnyvale consoles. -Chuck
  15. I have had several heavy-sixers over the years. I still keep the original one we bought when they first came out. It's still the one we keep hooked up. CPUWIZ, Thanks, now I have to look at my serial numbers too. -Chuck
  16. The DC Gameshark will load imports too. I've only tried it with Vampire Chronicle, but it worked fine. -Chuck
  17. I have the Hozer version of A Better Pac-man. It's one of my most frequently played 2600 games too. Pesco is cool, but it isn't as fluid of a game, I like A Better Pac-man better. -Chuck
  18. SS, A lot of the commercial releases for the 2600 were eproms too, you probably already have some 20 year old eproms in your collection. Ubersaurus is right, if they do eventually succumb to bit rot you can reprogram them with a fresh rom image. The tough part is getting the cart apart without damaging the labels. -Chuck
  19. I have a friend that collects the Chick booklets like we collect Atari games. He used to put them in my mailbox at work all the time, I especially enjoy the HA, HA, HA evil laugh that every bad guy has in the stories. -Chuck
  20. Debro, Nice job, It's going to be a good game. I'm glad to see more homebrew new development, it breaths new life into this hobby. -Chuck
  21. Joeybastard, Jebadiah Springfield couldn't have said it better. -Chuck
  22. Mikau, I wont use the cheats unless it gets impossibly difficult. So far I'm really enjoying this game so I'll take my time and do it the way the designers intended. -Chuck
  23. My patience is starting to run out too. Jah Fish, please let us know what has and has not been sent. I look everyday for it in the mail and am dissapointed each time. -Chuck
  24. MegaManFan, That's exactly what I did! After about the fourth try I managed to pick up a fast enough car to catch him with and ran him down. -Chuck
  25. No, I didn't see that one...but I did see the intro on my copy that's unmistakably based on the Commodore 64. Agent X, You made me laugh, I needed that. Commodore's weren't allowed in our house, I've never seen one plugged in. -Chuck
