is possible to port it to 5200 an no need a genius for it a precalc with moving texture - precalc for drawing screen can stay in rom, same tiles textures, 16kB of ram should be enough for large texture and rest of stuff what need to be in ram
-
no, ask fox maybe he would like to port it
-
Find one 7800 for yourself on 7800 I can do games bit better
-
New coming will be much better. I already get permissions for few other amazing titles Robbo is only a warmup
-
If somebody like to try the game, here it is. It is not a final version, but is possible to play on real hw and emulators Final version will be available when I finish 7800 version -ps- known bugs: - self destruction doesn't work on real hardware, in emulator START button - some glitches happend in sfx engine a52-robbo.zip
-
Janusz doesnt care about it. I was talk with several people and every told the same I get permission for use Robbo Forever, I have our pemissions for use Robbo code what we get for Alex game I think it is enough - need to be I didnt seen before PAM package but there is nothing what could be usefull for me :/ btw. thanks for your english translation. I will send you final version game binary when both versions will be done - now i am focused on 7800 port

will be on a days Atari 5200 version get 1st prize on QB Party 2016 game dev competition With re-writted source code and my 5200 & 7800 frameworks soon you will get 3 Robbo based games - Robbo, Robbo Forever & Alex
-
1st prize on game dev compo at QB Party \o/ Robbo beats all other 64-bit PC productions
-
We will see I still need to write 5200 keypad handler - game is playable now, but "suicide" button still not work on real hardware yesterday morning I made analog controller handler work and it made possible to show the game at QB Party game dev compo. It was realy nice to see how people enjoy this 8-bit game Other 7 productions at the competition were typical windows games with overloaded graphics effects. Second good thing is that 7800 version will be ready soon.
-
I would contact the author if I could do it. I will try to get permission of Janusz Pelc when 7800 version will be ready - but Avalon already made it open source. For sure I will build two more titles on this engine - Robbo Forever and Alex (extended Robbo version from 1991 - few more items and enemy cratures) I get also a request from polish community members to build my multi language version for XL/XE platform too I know that english translation is bad, I made it in hurry (all code tooks 7 days of work) - my target was build it in hungarian only and it was only a test of my 5200 framework If you like to fix the translation, feel free and do it. I will be able to focus on code
-
Before it happend, I will need buy 3D printer. I have no other idea for cartridge housings, rest I have designed.
-
most of bugs already fixed
-
It was very early build There was no game logic and no animations. Now I know bit more about 7800 dev, so I will need re-write code for my new 7800 framework
-
Robbo 7800 will take bit more time (graphics conversion, maybe redraw - we will see), but I have a lot old polish games sources so soon I will need to pick another title to port for Atari 5200
-
yes, indeed but 4kB RAM will be not enough for game logic, so 78SC with 16kB RAM will be needed
-
6 days maybe, but i spended some time for developing Atari 5200 & Atari 7800 frameworks
-
It is a port of first polish game published for Atari XL/XE
-
it is work in progress video PAL code on NTSC machine. still some minor bugs left to be fixed PAL color values need to be converted to NTSC too - in some levels eyes bleeding I need to add language picker - polish, hungarian, english, german. maybe russian but i still need to make a translation
-
simple presentation of a26-flashcart at work (2/4/8/16k images)
-
Don't worry about POKEYs, there are still a lot available on stocks
-
I know, I seen your video Freezer feature usage will be marginal - most of users will use it only for game cheats. I like and I will work in memory monitor, but I want to open 7800 platform and make it more user-friendly, BASIC interpreter should help ... and finaly USB keyboard will be usefull
-
dont forget that you have not used CPU IRQ signal with use of glue logic its realy easy to count tacts & juggle memory - yes, I have a freezer feature too
-
sure, I am not designing those devices only for myself but you need to be patient - still bit work left
-
Yes. You can add 75ohm resistor on cinch plug - signal to ground. I hope it will help I am putting cvbs mod on mainboard pcb in place of RF unit (universal PAL mainboard)
