  1. I had exactly the same problem. reason was bad data on the disk. solution was to rewrite the disk from the ATR. now my disk is working fine. greetings - Mario

You need the SIO2SD.xex File in the root of the SD Card and in the Setup of the SIO2SD you need to set the option 'cfgtool mode: startup+shift' Then you must press the Shift key of the SIO2SD-Device and power on the Atari. (yes, Power on. only coldstart does not work) In older Bios / Pbi versions it was working fine. But after the last update it's only working, if the pbi is disabled, so you can have fast loading only by using a patched OS. Greetings, Mario Sio2SD.xex

After updating to upbi180 I cant run the sio2sd disk selection/cfg tool by holding down the shift key on the sio2sd device, when the pbi is enabled. if pbi is disabled it's still working. also in fast mode, when I have selected the XL/XE HISPEED SIO patched OS ROM it's working. is there a solution to fix my problem, without downgrading the U1MBROMs? I would prefer to use unpatched XL/XE OS ROM and still have fast loading from my sio2sd again. greetings Mario
  8. Hey Stephen. Yepp it was a lot of pre-processing. Pixel by pixel optimization the Picture, moving parts of the background up n down to reduce the colour-changes per line to a minimum, Pixeling the shadows on skin and the dress with only one colour, trying to not use any dithering to mak the picture look this perfekt after conversion. I'm a bit proud, even if ppl can't see all the work in this comic picture. The source picture looks like the target picture but without the scanlines. I'm usng simple MSPaint for drawing the Layers in 320x240 using double x pixelsize and Photoshop to move the parts of the pic till they work perfect in rastaconnverter. Greetings, Mario

  13. Very cool. Finally one more paddle game and thank god, it's not another one of the 100+ arkanoid / breakout clones. Unfortunately I have ATARI-paddles but only a few games to use them. BTW. would like to have a list of all paddle-games for the A8. Is there such a thing? greetings Mario

  15. Hey ho mates. Hmm. It's not a problem of skillz. It's artistic freedom. As you can see here, the 1st designs was made in brown colours. Almost everywhere, you can see, the 'good' actors are painted or dressed in nice colours and the 'vicked' n 'crazy' actor is using ugly n dark colours and shiny eyes. Take a look. That's one reason. Very simple. And aside from that, the mostly brown background in the game is one big reason. Greetings Mario

  20. MY PERSONAL opinion: All the other alt Marios looks better than the smurf one. That blue face is very irritating to me. I have always in mind: 'why to hell is the face blue? there's a lot of flesh-color in any other part of the screen so why not in marios face?' But I am still happy with the MOD as it is. You're the MOD-MAN.
  21. Sure... here are 2 screenshots. One from V7RMT Version and one from the original version of 1983. In the original version Mario face is blue and flesh-colored and in the V7 version Marios face is light and dark blue. Don't know if it is possible but it would be great to have the face more flesh-colored than blue like a smurf. away from the blue face.... AWESOME WORK!!!!! Big big thank you. cheers, Mario
  22. Thanks, for another great pimping of good old classics... but ... ......is it only me????? unfortunately it looks all great only on NTSC Altirra. Mario on real PAL hardware and also in pal Altirra looks blue like a smurf.
