  1. I think we can all agree that the original Mega Man has gotten pretty expensive in stores and online. I've got the opportunity to get a real Rockman cart really cheap. For some reason, and maybe I'm being way too much of a purist, it just doesn't feel the same to have a copy of Rockman over having a copy of Mega Man, although I know they are identical. Would any of you feel the same, or am I just being too picky?
  2. Thanks for the help. This one below says its specifically for the Sega Genesis (doesn't say which model). http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-Adapter-Charger-for-Atari-Jaguar-or-Sega-Genesis-Power-Supply-9V-1A-5-5-2-1mm-/371032074597?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item56633c2965 I do have concerned about Chinese parts like these. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try either. Anybody else ever tried using one of these?
  3. So would any of these work for a Model 1? They are AC/DC, 9V, 1A, with 2.1mm plug. Please keep in mind that I am not an electrician, so some of your explanations go over my head. http://www.radioshack.com/nte-57-9d-1000-4-ac-dc-9v-1a-2-1mm-plug/55057422.html#.VUoehHvIx-4 http://www.ebay.com/itm/5V-7-5V-9V-12V-15V-5-5mm-x-2-1mm-AC-DC-Power-Adapter-Supply-Cord-Charger-/300997253277?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item4614d5989d http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-240V-50-60Hz-AC-DC-9V-1A-Converter-Charger-Adapter-Power-Supply-5-5x2-1mm-/320861187380?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab4d12d34
  4. What about wattage? The 1602 is 17W, but most generic adapters are 9W They need to be 9V, 1A, 17W with a 2.1mm plug right?
  5. Maybe if I could get a Duo version. I don't have a Sega CD. I mean its $30 after all. Pricey. Might as well get the 1602
  6. Do they still have that tournament? Who hosts it?
  7. Was Dr. Mario truly 1v1? I mean you weren't directly going at each other. None of your actions affected your opponents actions. Does anybody have an opinion on Ice Climber as a 1v1 game?
  8. Amen brother. I've gotten blisters from Tecmo Bowl lol
  9. I'd prefer to have the OEM version (1602), but they're getting pretty high on eBay and not easy to find locally where I am. I've been told Tomee is the best 3rd party version. Anyone else have suggestions?
  10. So, basically Twitch is a much safer route? Doesn't seem like anyone should be streaming on YouTube if itll be getting flagged.
  11. Haven't some companies tried to shut down bigger tournaments like EVO? Not saying we'll ever get that big. Just curious. Is using newer games like EVO does more of a concern to these companies, or would companies care if we had a group of 60 or so playing Warlords or F-Zero?
  12. I'd heard Capcom gets feisty on these things too. Is that true?
  13. So there's a group of us that get together to play old games like Street Fighter 2, RBI Baseball, Super Mario, etc. I was wondering if it's legal to live stream or even just post videos of our game play online? We wouldn't be using ROMs, just the original carts that I own. I know the big companies might not notice, but would the legal thing be to do is ask them for permission? Is live streaming these old games legal without permission from the copyright holder?
  14. I've got a Sega Genesis with the Power Base Converter. I've never played any of the Fantasy Zone games, but read a lot of good things. Any recommendations on which game to get to break my FZ cherry? Lol
  15. So is that guy "rivermod" legit? Do they really sell modded Atari 7800s?
  16. Supposedly comes with stereo surround and Scart connector. I'd say that's an improvement
  17. So, in the past 2 months I have emailed Best Electronics 3 times asking about purchasing the CX78 controller, and never got a response. Any suggestions?
  18. Came across a German group that claims to have an "ANNIVERSARY EDITION OF THE ATARI 7800". It looks really nice, but I was wondering if anybody knew about this or have bought from these guys. They also appear to have something called an "Atari 7800 Hifi Rack Version". Their stuff looks really cool. https://www.facebook.com/pages/retro-moddingde/1472842296262882 http://0711spiele.de/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGRM_LNlxtY
  19. Trying to find some good 1v1 games for the 7800, but most 7800 games that are multiplayer are more co-op. I guess Joust and Mario Bros kind of count, although you aren't directly fighting/competing against each other. Anybody have suggestions for some good 1v1 7800 games?
  20. Right on that website. I've seen it still for sale on others.
