  1. Is there anyone building an up to date ColecoVision system ?? i.e. is there a CV 2 in the pipeline ?
  2. Wherever you get your TMS99xx ICs always test them ASAP as any ICs that are 30+ years old can be DUFF, even NOS. So building a test rig to check them probably isn't such a silly idea.
  3. I thought the CV2 (Colecovision 2) was just an imaginary creature, sort of mythical beast , like Unicorns, Griffins and Dragons ?? Will the Colecovision 2 Ever be Made ??
  4. Making direct ( & improved) pin compatible replacements, in DIP format would be good. Especially things like the 74LS612 as 40ns propagation delay is rather long especially if your using 70/85/100ns+ SRAM/EPROMs, saves having to use WAIT states to slow things down.
  5. I've heard a rumour that someone is build a NEW Powertran Cortex System based on a TM99105 CPU does anyone know more ??
  6. More connectors/expansion sockets would be good, as well as a TMS9901 PIO ? And a true 9 pin D-type connector ? Someone with good CAD/PCB skills could modify it in a couple of hours , or even a weekend ??
  7. Has Stuart got plans to put more of his Breadboard projects onto a PCBs ??
  8. Has anyone on the forum built / designed a TMS99105/TMS99110 system ?
  9. What is needed for the TMS9900 is something like the N8VEM or S-100 that really does some serious homebrew hardware. A Serious Hardcore hardware TMS99xx section kicking out new hardware (and the associated software) to keep the TMS CPU alive !
  10. Hi. I've been considering building a small TMS9900 system for some time , then I spotted these kits on ebay.com. Has any body bought one, are they OK ?? They seem good value for money. I might just buy one and take the risk ! If anyone has any information on the company that sells them.. please let me know. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Z80-CPU-Kit-Z84C00xx-V9958-AY-3-8910-SRAM-EEPROM-CPLD-ect-/151338381536?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item233c7870e0
  11. The Ti-99/4A definetly needs more hardware people designing stuff !
  12. As an educational tool for students and hobbyists to learn about microcomputer design and architecture I think it's a splendid idea but : Have you done any serious costing and what is the specification to be ?? How long would it take to design and test a prototype ? There's quite a lot of planning and project management involved to get a Working System to market! The ICs still look plentiful on ebay.com but you'd have to test them to route any defective or counterfeit chips.. Would it be an individual effort or a team project ? There's quite a lot to think about !
