This is one of those "If I knew then what I know now" scenarios.
It's crazy to see some of these titles for as cheap as they were!

I tried looking for some of the big dollar titles that I know of, but one that stood out to me was Metal Storm for the NES.
It said $5 in that book... I think it goes for like $100 now average.
Glad I've accepted emulation into my life.
Thanks for the cool share!

Okay now they have a "mystery" game that won't be revealed until it goes on sale this Friday/tomorrow...
Also good lord I think they're releasing 2-3 titles every week now. Congrats to the high rollers who can consistently buy and keep up with their massive release schedule.

I like these... if they are worthwhile. It's also worth investing the extra if you really like/love/enjoy the game as a way to support a company for doing a great job.
Honestly, I remember when you used to get the steelbook / limited edition as a freebie for just preordering rather than regular ordering. Steelbooks are one of my favorite bonuses, but nobody really does steelbooks anymore. (Or at least fewer releases) It's either that or they do it but it's like $10-20 extra just to get that. Screw dat nonsense!
The last one I got that did this was Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. You got the regular plastic case and a bitchin steelbook as well.
It's pretty nice looking! The original cover is classier though...

I guess to put it into perspective, if they were to give this treatment to H.E.R.O. on 2600... I'd do it in a second. But I love that game more than life itself

I'm not disagree with that line of thought though. I love Mega Man X! It's one of my favorite Mega Man games, one of my favorite SNES games, and one of my all-time favorite games.
I just... can't justify $100 for a fancy boxed version that could probably be $80 or less.
-
Just buy the real games or the collections. Yuck.
Seriously. Also this ^^^^
-
$100 may seem like a lot, but people are dropping almost that on collector's edition of PS4 these days...so if Mega Man is your jam, why not get a special limited version of it?
Most of today's collector's editions are garbage, so I'm thankfully not one of those people. The only time I could/would justify this is a metal case (generally only $20 more and only $80 before tax) or if the collector's edition is reaaaally worth it (Persona 5 <3).
I can't see justifying $100 for a repro when you can buy the original game complete in box for the same price or slightly more.
Man, I'm glad I still have my original boxed copy of Mega Man 2.
It's cool that they are doing this, but $100 seems a bit steep. My thoughts exactly!

Welp.... iam8bit has another round of high dollar repros from Capcom!
This time we're getting Mega Man 2 in a stylish light blue/dark blue cart (your color is random), and a rather plain-looking Mega Man X in white or blue... (also random).
Links below
Mega Man X
They are 30th Anniversary carts. They look nice enough, but gorram it's $100 each. >_<ON THE PLUS SIDE! There isn't a warning about catching fire this time

I've used the following adapter below with no real issues.
Amazon Link - Trenro Dual Adapter
It's relatively cheap and works well enough. I think I had to install a driver with a disc, but it has worked nearly perfectly.

Someone already shared this on the Game Deals post, but I think it's worth posting here as well!
Humble Bundle - Capcom & Sega PlayStation
Some good Sega and Capcom titles! Even the "coupons" aside, you get like 10 games (mostly PS4 and PS3 with a few Vita) for around $12 currently. It's a good deal if you don't own any of the titles! (I own enough that it's kinda irrelevant for me. lol) -
I have the Slim Model PS3 as well, but it might be a later unit (320 GB model). I tested out multiple games and didn't run into any issues.
Final Fantasy VIII and Final Fantasy IX not only worked but worked with saves I had of the digital versions! Even prompted me to change disc... and that worked. I tested out and it started a new game on FFVIII as well.
I tried out a couple random games from there, and everything seemed to work for me. I know there are a couple PS1 titles that don't work right, but I can't seem to find a reliable list of them.
The only other thing I can think of... Is your discs damaged in any way? Do you have a regular PS1 or PS2 to test them on?
Among the posts on "PS1 titles that don't work", I found one person who randomly mentioned FFVIII, but that didn't seem to be followed up or commented on either. It's always possible the different models handle the PS1 games differently, but I thought all the PS3s used software emulation for PS1 titles and only differed on early PS2 emulation (IE was hardware then moved to software than nothing).

Bought a laptop from guitarmas.
Shipped fairly and quickly. Was very quick to respond and the item was fully working as described.
Would buy from again!

I'm pretty sure you could find the BIOS online.
I mean... Who doesn't find their BIOS online? I think the only system I ever dumped my own BIOS for was the Wii, but that's because it required little effort and could be done with an (easily) softmodded Wii and an SD card.
PCSX2 is great for more than just PS2 emulation though. If you set it up right, you can play PS2 titles upscaled nicely to look (nearly) HD. It's also nice to be able to play some of the more expensive games or rip your own games to keep them from the wear and tear / make backups. I think it's crazy how far PS2 emulation actually is when N64 emulation is still wonky as all get out.
My main computer can emulate them pretty well, and I liked the results... Just couldn't figure the best way to hook up a PS2 controller as using a 360/XB1 controller just feel weird to use for it. (Yeah I have PS3/PS4 controllers, but don't bluetooth built-in or a decent adapter.)

Pre-order is up on Gamestop! I know most of you don't like GameStop, but I'm going to link all three versions anyways~
PlayStation 4
Nintendo Switch
Xbox OneUnsure about other placings having it up...but they're doing this kinda weirdly shortly, so I'm jumping on it now to be safe. I'd assume everybody, but maybe they're keeping the physical copies on a limited release?

Sending PM.

Been playing Binding of Issac a bit... Man I suck at it. -_-
Also trying to get more into Nier Automata. It's a great game, and I picked it up some time ago. Just kinda got disconnected from it? Played it more last night, and it is such a great game. I hate that my interest is waning for various (not related to the game) reasons as the game is pretty fantastic.

I haven't bought anything for a few runs myself... there's only so many pretty pixelart metroidvanias you can buy before you're feeling pretty done for awhile, y'know?
Although I am a bit grateful for the lack of interest on my part, they really have been releasing a lot lately. It's hard on the wallet sometimes!
Honestly that's probably going to be the real problem unlike everything I mentioned above... The titles.
There's a nearly infinite number of titles available for them to make a physical copy of, but outside of the hardcore people who are buying all of them just to have them... who are these aimed at?
They're going to slowly encroach into a territory of physical copies of games that nobody really wants. Like you said, there's only so many indie games (pretty pixel metroidvanias compose like 40% of these) that your average gamer would want.
Half the time I haven't heard of the title, and I look into it and find something kinda meh looking. Granted that's not their fault as they're just going for whatever they can get to publish out. Hopefully they can get around to more of the AA titles (not a mistype) that deserve physical copies!

I've more or less gotten over my anger at them, but I've also stopped buying their titles?
This isn't a protest of any sort. I'm just not finding any interest in the titles they're releasing at this point.
That and GOOD LORD they're releasing so many! I think we're getting nearly 3 different physical titles every week!
They're starting to last up to the next day on some even...
-
I didn't see anybody directly mention this, so I thought I'd post it.
They've revealed that the split is indeed 50/50.
X1 thru X4 will be on the first collection.
X5 thru X8 will be on the second collection.
I'm going to pick up both of them via the two disc set for PS4. It'd be cool on Switch, but I don't think I'd care for anything past X4 on Switch.
And a little article from Capcom~

How well do these work on CRTs? Picked up a circa 2003 Trinitron with component inputs, and I'm looking at whether it's worth the extra cost vs. going for s-video.
Looks like they work great, but I'm unsure how large a difference you'll see. I took the following question and answer from their FAQ.
My TV has component video inputs, but it's not an HDTV. Will the cables still work?
Absolutely. An HDTV is not required to experience the clarity provided by our cables. In fact, many users are thrilled with the quality experienced on their standard definition CRT TVs which have YPbPr inputs.
I've added the link to this as well! https://www.hdretrovision.com/faq/
Also happy to report that they are still very much in stock!

I know this is gonna distract from the thread like others, but this makes me kinda sad...
I've had 3 separate dealings with Yurkie, and I've had zero issues with them.
Bought a modded N64 and it worked great.
Had him mod a NES for RGB.
Had him install the HDMI mod in a GameCube. (Not a service offered, specially requested and they did it.)
All three times they were incredibly open about the process and very patient as I often had to send it first and then pay a couple days/week later. I can't say it was a quick turnaround, but they were incredibly professional throughout and overall reasonable turnaround (I think like 2-3 weeks?) They were even willing to answer questions on the systems after I sold both of the RGB modded ones.
THAT BEING SAID... It's sad to hear this happen. Yurkie always seemed like an incredibly professional person as far as his modding goes. I'm hoping that just something bad happened IRL and this was just a bump in the road going ahead.

The #1 item that always sticks in my brain...
When I bought Marvel Vs Capcom 3 at launch and then 8 months later they re-released a Remix/Plus version of the game with exclusive characters and stages that you couldn't add to the base game.
DLC can be done right. Microtransactions can be justified if the base game was free.
Beyond that... I'm kinda disappointed that the industry seems to be really trying to cash in the "nostalgia" craze with generally lackluster, half-assed, or money grabby collections or games.

Shovel Knight: While I haven't played the 3DS version, I have played through the game on the PS3. Everything I said about Shantae above also applies. This is one of my favorite games in recent memory.
Highly recommend Shovel Knight for every gaming device you can. Amazing game in every regard! (I think I own it in like 5+ different ways now.)
However, I quoted this post for a reason. I love Shovel Knight, but the physical copy of it only contains the original campaign (now titled Shovel of Hope) and the first DLC campaign, Plague of Shadows. There's currently a third one called Specter of Torment and a final one that's not out yet called King of Cards.
It's a free update for the physical version of the game, but I wanted to make a note since simbalion mentioned a preference of physical and not having access to Internet at home.

Bought a great Green Game Boy from DNA128k!
Was very active in responding and updating.
Great price for a great little system!
Very fair on shipping as well and packed well.
Would buy from again!

I don't follow their Twitter, but I'm going to assume/hope there's a hint SOMEWHERE, but I only get the emails from them.
I keep following them in hopes that they'll have a release I actually want... Lemme see if I can scrounge anything up.
EDIT - Well I checked their Facebook and Twitter... Nothing there. I guess since it's tomorrow will just have to look it up. Probably send their usual email day of and reveal what it is.
