  1. I've more or less gotten over my anger at them, but I've also stopped buying their titles? This isn't a protest of any sort. I'm just not finding any interest in the titles they're releasing at this point. That and GOOD LORD they're releasing so many! I think we're getting nearly 3 different physical titles every week! They're starting to last up to the next day on some even...
  2. I didn't see anybody directly mention this, so I thought I'd post it. They've revealed that the split is indeed 50/50. X1 thru X4 will be on the first collection. X5 thru X8 will be on the second collection. I'm going to pick up both of them via the two disc set for PS4. It'd be cool on Switch, but I don't think I'd care for anything past X4 on Switch. And a little article from Capcom~ http://www.capcom-unity.com/capkel/blog/2018/04/10/mega-man-x-legacy-collection-1-and-2-launch-july-24th
  3. Looks like they work great, but I'm unsure how large a difference you'll see. I took the following question and answer from their FAQ. I've added the link to this as well! https://www.hdretrovision.com/faq/ Also happy to report that they are still very much in stock!
  4. I know this is gonna distract from the thread like others, but this makes me kinda sad... I've had 3 separate dealings with Yurkie, and I've had zero issues with them. Bought a modded N64 and it worked great. Had him mod a NES for RGB. Had him install the HDMI mod in a GameCube. (Not a service offered, specially requested and they did it.) All three times they were incredibly open about the process and very patient as I often had to send it first and then pay a couple days/week later. I can't say it was a quick turnaround, but they were incredibly professional throughout and overall reasonable turnaround (I think like 2-3 weeks?) They were even willing to answer questions on the systems after I sold both of the RGB modded ones. THAT BEING SAID... It's sad to hear this happen. Yurkie always seemed like an incredibly professional person as far as his modding goes. I'm hoping that just something bad happened IRL and this was just a bump in the road going ahead.
  5. The #1 item that always sticks in my brain... When I bought Marvel Vs Capcom 3 at launch and then 8 months later they re-released a Remix/Plus version of the game with exclusive characters and stages that you couldn't add to the base game. DLC can be done right. Microtransactions can be justified if the base game was free. Beyond that... I'm kinda disappointed that the industry seems to be really trying to cash in the "nostalgia" craze with generally lackluster, half-assed, or money grabby collections or games.
  6. Highly recommend Shovel Knight for every gaming device you can. Amazing game in every regard! (I think I own it in like 5+ different ways now.) However, I quoted this post for a reason. I love Shovel Knight, but the physical copy of it only contains the original campaign (now titled Shovel of Hope) and the first DLC campaign, Plague of Shadows. There's currently a third one called Specter of Torment and a final one that's not out yet called King of Cards. It's a free update for the physical version of the game, but I wanted to make a note since simbalion mentioned a preference of physical and not having access to Internet at home.
  7. Bought a great Green Game Boy from DNA128k! Was very active in responding and updating. Great price for a great little system! Very fair on shipping as well and packed well. Would buy from again!
  8. 3DS has a pretty large library both physically and digitally. There are quite a few rock solid titles in there too! As already mentioned, they have a good variety on Virtual Console, so be sure to check that out! (SNES has a great lineup, and they have several of the older Pokemon games if that is your thing.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Virtual_Console_games_for_Nintendo_3DS_(North_America) I'll go ahead and third The Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds Among the ports/remakes, I can suggest... Both Legend of Zeldas (Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time) Donkey Kong Country Returns (excellent port of excellent game) Star Fox 64 3D (I just like Star Fox 64...) Trying to find some exclusives that haven't been mentioned... Pokemon Sun/Moon (if you want more recent) or there is X / Y (if you want a bit cheaper) Bravely Default (excellent old style JRPG) Bravely Second (if you beat the first one and want more) Fire Emblem Awakening (if you like tactical RPGs, has easier modes than previous games and can disable permadeath!) Animal Crossing New Leaf (if you want a play by day life simulatorish thing) Theatrhythem Final Fantasy Curtain Call (If you like Final Fantasy music and rhythm games, it's the sequel but better/larger song selection!) Mario Kart 7 (good if you want Mario Kart and don't have a Switch... if you have a Switch, stick to You've already got a couple Marios so you're good there~ There's quite a few titles on the 3DS, so it's hard to fully encompass everything you can get on it... Also I've mostly stuck with RPGs.
  9. I asked someone at the GameStop I check out here and there. (Namely for a good deal / steals. Despite everybody's hate, you can find some decent stuff during a Buy *, Get * sale.) They knew most of the items I brought up when I asked them. I think it's meant to be a fully implemented thing, but they only get in trouble if they get caught... So many people probably throw caution to the wind as it's unlikely to be caught immediately (if ever). Funny enough, the core problem for all of this seems to just be they should have a minimum of 2 people always. The second person should just be behind the counter always and not leave for any reason. This and their drawers full of games should have always been locked and keys always on hand... No real excuse for that one.
  10. They do have a chart of TVs showing what all they have tested. It's mostly Sega Genesis, but there's a few SNES spots in there. Worth checking out if interested! http://www.hdretrovision.com/s/240p-TVs_20171211.pdf Based on the PDF they have above, the TCL works for the cable, but it won't let you force 4:3 aspect ratio on it.
  11. It's probably a combination of multiple factors. I have a feeling the recent Super NT is playing a big factor in the SNES cables remaining in stock. With such a nice HDMI option, fewer people are needing component cables for their SNES. I ended up selling my cable and my SNES because I preordered the Super NT. Also didn't help that my TV (screw you Vizio V_V) didn't work with it... I'd also like to assume that they have a much larger number of Sega Genesis cables considering it's the base need for all of the adapters they have available. Only other thing I could figure here other than "they actually planned this out" is that we're all lucky that some people are holding off for now.
  12. Just a heads up that these are still very much in stock! I'll try to update if I see any of them go out of stock. Unfortunately for me... I have a Vizio and those seem to be the LEAST friendly with their cables. I was considering one for my PS1, but it's not gonna work. Thankfully both the PS2 and PS3 can play PS1 discs! (Feel bad for my poor PS1 though...) EDIT - So this is basically just another heads up to be sure you do the 240p test they suggest! They won't refund you if the flaw is incompatibility. http://www.hdretrovision.com/240p
  13. I shared a status update, but I want everybody to have a chance to get these! https://shop.hdretrovision.com/collections/component-cables They are excellent component cables and while seemingly expensive, I can confirm they work great! Be sure to do their 240p test on your TV before ordering, or you'll be disappointed... http://www.hdretrovision.com/240p
  14. HDRetrovision component cables back in stock! https://shop.hdretrovision.com/collections/component-cables

Dang it! I haven't been happy with any of my other HD solutions for my Genesis.

Well, I did the test. My main TV (Panasonic) won't support those cables, **Sigh**. I don't know if my bedroom TV will support them or not, Or if I'd really use them there. I may do the test there just to check compatibility.

  15. I'm cool with the Dualshock series, but I prefer the XB360/XB1 layout for FPS on console. Feels weird with Dualshock. OTHERWISE! One of my favorite controllers is actually the original PS1 controllers with no analog sticks. (Yeah I'm one of those weirdos. Weirdo in a good sense!) I've picked up quite a few over time cause they're relatively cheap, and they feel like improved Super Nintendo controllers (slightly more ergonomic and not as flat).
  16. I remember having this as one of my first Game Boy games... Boy did I suck at it! Still not much better, but I remember it pretty well and being a pretty good game despite the Game Boy limitation. Impressive what developers could seemingly do back then within their limitations when it seems now your best bet with a port is that it's riddled with issues. *looks at modern PC ports of multiple games*
  17. PS3 controller acts like an original Dualshock. You use the PlayStation button menu to change it between digital and analog. If you change to digital, I believe that enables the use of the analog sticks in place of the d-pads. It's been a while, but I can check on a random game tonight. I don't have any of the Crash games, but I do have Spyro and that should more or less reveal this. EDIT - Okay I realize now you specified people who have Crash. I might, so I'll check either way.
  18. Probably a lot of "nopes" from the Gamestop employees as well. (They'll figure out something to keep from having to do it.) I'd argue that would be a bit sad to do as well since that seems like half the point of Nintendo Labo is to build it yourself... My understanding is that you only get like 1 set of resources to complete each item. I think you're paying more for the blueprints and software than the actual pieces of cardboard. I mean once you build it once you have at least the general items needed to build it again and again. ...that is if I understood the intention of this.
  19. It's a surprisingly good game! I'd highly recommend a playthrough of it. They also have a really good multiplayer light cycles if you can find anybody playing and hosting a server of it.
  20. ...Does anybody actually think about these policies before they are put in place? Inconvenient is like the nicest word here. There's a lot more words that cover this that aren't nearly as nice. I really only go to Gamestop in hopes of some good sale/deal on something. This... pretty much kills it for me. I feel like you could pretty easily troll a Gamestop by going up to the counter with like 4-5 titles and then changing your mind on several mid-transaction. Then walking away when it takes too long.
  21. Minor bump! I pushed a couple titles to the freebies thread as I don't think they will sell here. Anything not sold over the weekend will be going to eBay.
  22. Finally picked up Resident Evil 7 several months back... and I beat it just this week! Great game and great callback to some of the earlier games (namely the first game) as well as leaving it fresh and fun like the more recent ones (RE4 and RE5... not RE6). They also clearly and inspiration from a certain horror demo. *cough* PT *cough* You can pick up the original game for just $20 now as they have the Gold Edition with extra content, so I highly recommend to anybody who was on the fence! Next up I'm gonna do the Secret of Mana remake... I only partially played the original, but this is gonna be tough because of the "upgrades".
