Kickstarter -- New System Shock game
KeeperofLindblum replied to SoulBlazer's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I'd like to throw my own experience with Kickstarter in the ring because I've probably had more Kickstarter experience than the average person... I've backed 46 projects. Of those 46 projects, I'd say around 30 of them have actually delivered. I've given as much as $135 and as little as $15. The full amount I've given over the entirety of my Kickstarter life is $1,642. I've backed mostly video games, but I have also given to web comic books, music albums, a plush, and more! There are around 5-6 projects I've completely written off because I know they are never going to deliver. The first project I backed (Super Retro Squard) is probably the biggest failure among those as it completely shit itself. That goes back to 2013. The second biggest one would be Mighty No 9. I gave to them... twice. I have all my rewards at this point (about 2 years later than I should have), and that game was just a general disappointment. One of the best ones I've backed has become one of my all time favorite games... You may have heard of it? Shovel Knight. Without Kickstarter, we may have never gotten Shovel Knight. If anything is an argument FOR Kickstarter, it is that game. There's other success stories like Kung Fury (getting a sequel!), Hyper Light Drifter (another great game!), Project Eternity (now called Pillers of Eternity), Shantae Half-Genie Hero, Moon Hunters, Children of Zodiarcs, Shadows of Adam, and probably several more that I never backed. (Sorry I just wanted to promote some of the ones that I both backed and delivered as they're all pretty great games!) I backed one project where the person running and designing it took the money and run! (Goblins: Alternate Realities. Card game for a popular web comic Goblins.) There was one project that included "Triple A staff to make the RPG you all want!"... Project Phoenix. That one quickly became a lie and a shitshow as they proceeded to neither make the game promised or even try to deliver. They're still working on it, but I doubt I'll even play it when I get it. Story War completely succeeded, but then the company went completely under after they delivered... Like 6 months to a year later. I could go on and on, but I won't. As moycon stated, Kickstarter is a risk, and anytime you invest your money, you are risking something. However, I have learned a few things before putting anything into a Kickstarter. I realized there were projects I should have put more into, projects I shouldn't have cancelled backing, and projects I should have just walked away from. I could make all sorts of suggestions about what to and not to do, but honestly? I'd say Kickstarter is kinda done. What few real projects came along have already been done and finished. It seems most projects from there can't be trusted anymore. EDIT - Sorry I keep editing to clarify and better state some parts of this. -
Super Nintendo Classic Edition - SNES Mini thread
KeeperofLindblum replied to Rev's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah I wasn't trying to be crappy about it or nothing. I just thought people were watching this thread and might respond in time. I was actually there another 30 minutes and still would have been happy to grab it. I can always check back in a few days and see if it is still there. I know that Wal-Mart pretty well and they aren't a huge gamer outlet (IE not selling a lot of games in general). -

Spotted one here in Oklahoma. If someone can respond in the next 15 minutes or so I'll pick it up for them. -
Bumpity bump bump! I've generally decreased prices and bundled remaining Wii games. (Twilight Princess pending) I sent you a PM late last night on this. EDIT - Sorry for all the bumps! I won't bump again til Monday at soonest.

Mega Man Legacy Collection (XB1, PS4, 3DS, PC)
KeeperofLindblum replied to Atariboy's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I always have this exact conundrum with Capcom... I hate how they do some things, but then I realize I have to choose one of two paths: 1. Support any Mega Man game (or other likable Capcom series) in hopes of getting more and better games in that series. 2. Don't support Capcom's generally lazy cash grabs because they should put more effort in. I tend to go the former rather than the latter because I'd rather put money in with hopes of enough support bringing about more games I actually want. Then I start thinking "but I'm supporting lazy business tactics!" and keep going around and around until I just don't know what to do... I JUST WANT MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3 ALL RIGHT!?!? -
Not at home to get the exact figures, but I figure close to $4.50 first class. I doubt it would get more than $5, but it won't be less than $4. I can figure exact amount when I get home. So you're looking around $9-10 shipped.

Another bump! Realized I shouldn't keep my Wii games considering I don't have a Wii... Everything is pretty much priced to sell except the big one.

Mega Man Legacy Collection (XB1, PS4, 3DS, PC)
KeeperofLindblum replied to Atariboy's topic in Modern Console Discussion
...How would they even split them up though? I mean you can't do straight down the middle. That would leave X1 thru X4 (the best ones) on the first collection and make the second one nearly pointless. (X5 and X6 okay. X7 and X8 not really) If you do X1 thru X6 on the first collection, that's even worse! You'd be leaving X7 and X8 by themselves. I'm hoping the X collection might have a few extra titles to help balance the collections because I'm not sure where they'll draw the line. I already own and don't play the first two collections, but I'd be cool supporting again for both on a single cart.~ (IE how it should have been on discs. lol) -
This contains PC games, but I'm linking mostly for the console titles. I didn't see anywhere else to post and doesn't seem worthy of a thread... Square Enix is having an anniversary sale, and there's a lot of great old and new titles that are INCREDIBLY cheap! Some titles are as cheap as $4! https://store.na.square-enix.com/sales/anniversary-sale/

Super Nt Console review
KeeperofLindblum replied to swlovinist's topic in Classic Console Discussion
...okay I feel stupid because I didn't realize there was an SD card slot on it. I had to google image search to find it. (Not at home right now) I wonder if this makes the SD2SNES or SuperEverdrive pointless... -
Super Nintendo Classic Edition - SNES Mini thread
KeeperofLindblum replied to Rev's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Seeing as I have the Super NT now, is there anybody here who would be interested in buying my SNES Classic? I have all of the items that came in the box It's been opened and used, but I doubt it has 2 hours of play time on it. I'm not going to overcharge, but there is a slight catch... You'd be buying the SNES Classic and this carrying case I got for it. Seeing as I'm not a scalping butt, I'll probably let it go for $100 plus shipping (IE actual cost of both items). I'd prefer to give someone here a chance who doesn't already own one. I guess the best version is to leave a post on here requesting it and then message me. EDIT - Please try to be honest about this. -_- I'm hoping to get one to someone who genuinely wants one and can't find one. EDIT 2 - Feel free to message about this incase it falls through, but otherwise this is currently pending with someone! -
Super Nt Console review
KeeperofLindblum replied to swlovinist's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Anytime I looked in the past about a SNES HDMI mod. I can never seem to find any truly relevant information or products. What few things I see don't look pretty... (Old NintendoAge Thread) That's the best I found just looking about quickly. I have a bad feeling that with RGB readily available on the console, component cables through HDRetrovision (rarely), and multiple HDMI SNES options out now... We probably won't get a true mod like the NES did. Also wow I didn't know the Supa Retron HD was actually out? (GameStop Link) I just imagine it's a weird mixture of acceptable and hot garbage. -
HDMI plug for Gamecube
KeeperofLindblum replied to Master Phruby's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Indeed it is! I'm gonna assume the dummy jack is to help stabilize it and put less pressure on the digital port. Considering that one looks a bit more professional (read fancy), I'd probably go with it if/when I decide to get an external solution as well. -
Super Nt Console review
KeeperofLindblum replied to swlovinist's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I got my Super NT in today... It's pretty awesome. I don't have a way to capture, but I can confirm it looks and feels really quality. My favorite part so far is that it feels INCREDIBLY sturdy. Like I was surprised at the overall build quality and heft of which the console has. -

I saw someone posted this on their status update. I didn't realize we had another person making these! It looks pretty snazzy, but it's $50 more. Just something to consider if you don't want to wait on zeldaxpro. https://castlemaniagames.com/shop?olsPage=products%2Fgchd-gamecube-hdmi-adapter-from-eon-gaming -

https://zzblogs.wixsite.com/home/purchase-a-plug-n-play-2-0 The link says 20, but it's the 3.0 version. I guess he just hasn't updated the page name. lol -
Final bump! PS1 games are pending. Supaboy S is on eBay (if someone on here is interested, I'll do better than eBay). All that's left is the Mayflash Arcade stick.

Playstation 2 Drive emulation?
KeeperofLindblum replied to my80chevette's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Thanks for that info! I might go ahead and invest in that setup for a second PS2 I have. This will give me a bit more options and I can test them to decide which setup I like more. -
Playstation 2 Drive emulation?
KeeperofLindblum replied to my80chevette's topic in Classic Console Discussion
As someone who has only used Free McBoot, is there any major benefit to HDBoot that should bring me over? I would like if it directly booted into the OPL, but I can't say that would justify me redoing my entire setup for it. -
Playstation 2 Drive emulation?
KeeperofLindblum replied to my80chevette's topic in Classic Console Discussion
The Free McBoot application can run off a memory card and lets you run from fat and slim consoles. It's mostly for booting games from a hard drive, but it looks like you can boot from a flash drive as well. (I use Free McBoot but haven't messed with running games off USB) All you need is for someone to install Free McBoot on a memory card you own (or buy one that someone has preloaded with it). -
Bumping for last time! Minor price decrease across the board. Anything still here on Friday will most likely go to eBay. Prices will be more there, but I was hoping someone here would pounce. *shrugs* Am I just striking at the wrong time? I'm honestly unsure. I realize my pictures aren't always the greatest, but I try to be open about any issues or flaws with items.

Okay sorry for another bump, but I added controllers to the listing now. Sorry sorry. >_<
