Minor bump! Lot of items have been sold, but I still have what I have. Supaboy is pending. Make me an offer on the rest of it! EDIT - Does anybody have suggestions on selling the PlayStation Underground volumes?

Any XRGB Mini experts? Saving settings per mode...
KeeperofLindblum replied to Starglider01's topic in Hardware
While I loved my Framemeister, I'll say this is definitely one of the quirkier features on it. You can save your profile settings and re-apply them by loading them, but there's not really a great way to set and save individual ports. you almost have to re-apply your settings to the entire unit every time. (I thought I read something that if you try to set individual ports it can miss some settings, but don't take my word on that!) Might check My Life in Gaming's youtube channel for some advice. They have an "RGB Master Class" that covers the Framemeister pretty well and I think they go into detail on this. Afraid I'm unsure how to set up the actual profiles as I simply just downloaded and used the ones made by firebrandx... http://www.firebrandx.com/framemeisterprofiles.html I no longer own one, so that's really all I can suggest or say on it at this time. >_< -
HDMI plug for Gamecube
KeeperofLindblum replied to Master Phruby's topic in Classic Console Discussion
The last time I got a quote on this it was around $100 or so shipped. Might have gone up slightly since then. I had the internal mod done, and with the cost of parts and modding, I spent a little over $200 to have it done. This is the cheaper option and has the benefit of being transferable. I still prefer the internal mod myself, but I'm fully understanding of liking this external one instead. Probably the only benefit I have is being able to access the menu without a remote. -
Is that something easy to fix? I don't really have the best knowledge to work on something like this, and my lack of free time doesn't help that either. Of course there's also my understanding that CRTs can be dangerous to fix.

This is getting tossed either tomorrow or Friday, so it's your last call! I wasn't hopeful for any takers, but I figured I'd give it a try.
-
Just a minor bump. I realize most won't be interested in this as I can assume the Oklahoma retro gaming community probably isn't that massive and probably even fewer frequent AtariAge. We will probably end up tossing this on Friday if nobody speaks up by then. (I don't feel like dealing with Craigslist nuts or I'd go there next.)

Gamestop bringing back older consoles.
KeeperofLindblum replied to StickerPeeler's topic in Classic Console Discussion
There's been quite a few (horror) stories of people buying from Gamestop's "Retro Games" and getting either a bootleg or swapped title. They have comparative pricing on their stuff and allow returns/refunds if wrong, but it seems like you're taking a huge risk no matter if you buy carts or discs. Carts are likely to be bootlegs or swapped titles. I feel like discs could easily be burned and labelled well and therefore fake. It was an interesting idea, and it could have had great results.... if GameStop been willing to put the time, money, and effort into it. Pat the NES Punk has some older videos covering what's gone wrong. Let me link the more relevant one below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuGbBTDHzFg -
Super Retro Boy...No News?
KeeperofLindblum replied to StephenJ's topic in Classic Console Discussion
What consoles? From what I can tell, they haven't had anything new for some time, and most of their site is out of stock except for custom game boy cases, display holders for LITERALLY EVERYTHING, and some other random garbage. Their overpriced games and consoles are nonsense. The only time I felt they were relevant was when they sold the custom backlit GBA. Once those ran dry (or the backlights to be exact), I think they had a hard time finding a follow up... I just remember getting into an argument on their Facebook cause they were selling the Revo k101 for like $250+ because they printed off a shell for it. (You can buy one for like $100.) -
GameCube feels nice, but I think I'd choose the Super Nintendo. I've always really wanted one (and had one up until preording that Analogue Super NT). Has a lot of great games spread throughout, and if we're playing "add-ons are okay", then you can technically buy those silly NES, Genesis, and GBA add-ons by Retro-Bit!

Emulation in 4K, what kind of rig do I need?
KeeperofLindblum replied to toptenmaterial's topic in Emulation
Well it's really going to depend on how far up you're wanting to go... I'll have to check my PC Specs when I get home as I can't remember what I have off the top of my head. I have a GTX 950 and I'm able to run quite a bit. I will say that I ran into slowdowns when trying to do 1080p Wii games just on my PC Monitor. (Might just need to do some actual configuring rather than sticking with default though.) However, the same card was able to run GameCube games at 4k when pushed to my 4K TV. I think most older titles (PS1-era or less) are easy enough to run in 4K and really only require getting the resolution right plus a few minor settings. I mean I have an old Dell Optiplex with no dedicated video card, and I was able to run PS1 games up to 4K on my TV. Again, I'll need to check some of my settings and full specs when I'm home in a few days. For now, what consoles or generation of consoles are you looking to run? -
My wife got a Switch for Christmas...
KeeperofLindblum replied to x=usr(1536)'s topic in Nintendo Switch
Stardew Valley is pretty good if you like Harvest Moon type games. I've heard Golf Story is really good, and it's some sorta of golf-RPG thing. It's supposed to be pretty funny and entertaining. I've enjoyed Cave Story (always good!), Master Blaster Zero (remake of original), and Mighty Gunvolt Burst (Mega Man-esque clone) as well. There's also something called Oceanhorn that's sort of a 3D isometric Zelda-style game. I played a demo and liked it, but haven't bought it because I've got so much on my plate. -
I have an odd freebie that kinda has prerequisites? I backed the Shantae Half Genie Hero kickstarted and have quite a few codes that aren't the actual game. Why? I backed for WiiU copy, but now I don't have the WiiU anymore! (The game itself has already been redeemed.) Would anybody be interested in the DLC codes for some of the content? I believe backers are getting them early. Biggest issue with these codes is they only work for the WiiU version of the game. Any takers? I will PM the codes. (Would greatly prefer someone who actually has the game... I mean it just makes sense as these codes are worthless to you otherwise.)

That's pretty good to hear! I'll be honest... I'm also just not sure if I really want to buy Skyrim again considering I have bought a minimum of like... 5 copies already. If I really wanted to buy it again, I'd probably do the Switch version because at least that one is portable. Skyrim VR seems like it'd be a really neat trip, but I don't think I could play it for hours on end.

I've only played a few titles myself after purchasing the same Gran Turismo Sports bundle. Gran Turismo Sports - This is cool, but I think I got motion sick from it. Also not a huge racing simulation person, so this won't get much attention. EVE Valkyrie - This is the main reason I bought it. It's a great space flight game and really enjoy this one! Archangel - Surprisingly good (and tough) first person mech game. It's got a strong arcade style, but it's a lot of fun! It's even cooler if you have PlayStation Move controllers to control the arms! I keep dying though because I'm not shielding properly. Starblood Arena - A "Space FPS" as I'm going to call it. It's arena battles where you fly around as one of several space ships and try to shoot down others. Feels a lot more arcade-y and action packed than EVE Valkyrie was so far. I had fun, but this gave me a bit of motion sickness as well. I think it was because it kept going from VR off and on as constant loading was needed. I'm gonna pick up Resident Evil 7 eventually and considering other titles. Probably not Skyrim VR as that would require a lot of time and still not sure how well I'm handling all this. I've never been prone to motion sickness, but Gran Turismo really did a number on me...

Oh? I didn't know there was already a second revision... I don't have an HDR TV, so I guess that doesn't make any difference to me. I just figured to share because it was a good price, but this is good to know information! Thanks.

You can get a PlayStation VR for pretty cheap at Gamestop right now! https://www.gamestop.com/ps4/consoles/playstation-vr-headset-camera-bundle/150721 It's only $199 for the base set! (VR unit and camera) Not sure how long the sale is going on, so you should jump on it if i you want it cheap! They have a couple other sets that are discounted, but the next price from there is $299 for Doom VFX (just adds DOOM VR to main set) or $349 for Skyrim VR bundle (comes with VR, camera, 2 Move controllers, and Skyrim VR)

Super Nintendo Classic Edition - SNES Mini thread
KeeperofLindblum replied to Rev's topic in Classic Console Discussion
My local GameStop had gotten in several SNES classics so I picked one up for me. I'm thinking of going by tomorrow morning and getting another one. I have a possible friend interested, but they haven't gotten back to me. Anybody interested in buying it off me at cost plus shipping? -
PlayStation Store has a really good Holiday Sale going on. Lots of variety of titles for pretty good prices! I picked up several VR games for like half price~ https://store.playstation.com/en-us/grid/STORE-MSF77008-HOLISALE17LP/1

Mega Man 11 coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Switch!
KeeperofLindblum replied to Pixelboy's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I've played very little of X7 and X8. I just remember X7 being pretty bad. I think X7 is considered so bad that X8 is only considered good because of how bad X7 was. -
New Gamecube HDMI adapter
KeeperofLindblum replied to Punisher5.0's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I'm assuming you meant GameCube there? If not, then we are definitely in two different spots. Both the internal and external mod use the exact same software for the GameCube HDMI. They are all based on GCVideo as it's the software that allows the digital conversion to occur. The only difference for us is how we access the menu. Granted, if you are talking about Wii, then it's probably a different scenario entirely.
