  1. I've played all three of the "toys to life" games, and they are all decent enough games... Just sucks that a new character essentially means a full new purchase every time. It did always help me a bit to know that you at least get a physical good for your purchase although the results are entirely digital. Skylanders are neat and all, but their quality kinda differs. The Disney Infinity characters were always pretty quality looking and generally a neat conversion from a "real" to a "animated" look for some characters. LEGO gives you real LEGO bricks to work with... Course LEGO seems so expensive anymore. That being said, you can expect all of these to get super cheap now that two of the three are 100% confirmed to stop. Skylanders probably isn't too far behind that itself... Or they're waiting for the competition to be gone to swoop back in. I thought some company was planning to release a "Toys to Life" marketed to adults though... Something about buying space ships and being able to customize and buy pieces for them. Afraid I never learned the name of it though.
  2. You said all my points were not fair and inaccurate... but your points were just terrible. I don't feel like they have always targeted collector's. They're targeting people who want physical copies of digital games... That's not 100% collectors. That is anybody wanting a physical piece of a game that they can keep forever in a slowly encroaching digital age of gaming. It's not LRG's fault they can only do limited runs... but telling people to "go to the company" is a shitty answer coming from a (essentially) PR statement made on MetalJesusRocks. They could figure up a better system to do their releases. I'd argue switching purely to preorders is the better version. Try to figure out what the full demand is, meet that, and have some extra. I doubt having a couple hundred games sitting is going to kill their business. If it did, their business model won't survive. The limited funding was an issue in the beginning, but I'm saying it's not as much of an issue now. If they can afford a crew of people, that means they have that much more money to work with. If every single run has a chance of destroying their business, then they need to fix their current model. My point was their initial excuse shouldn't affect the number of copies they have now and yet it still seems to in a way. Saying "it's their business and they can do what they want" sounds like a great way for a company to go OUT of business. Company's can only survive as long as their clientele are around to support them. The physical gamers are going to slowly but surely be a dying breed. I mean I love physical copies of games over digital ones, but it's becoming less of an option for some of my favorite titles. Blaming your customers for your lack of inventory and preparedness is like the shittiest thing I've ever read. You might rethink that statement. I would love LRG to keep making titles... but it's hard to support a company if you can't even get a chance to support them because they can't figure up a better model of selling their physical releases. I get that they're "Limited Run" games, but it's frustrating from a position of wanting a product that you can't have because poor planning on their part.
  3. LONG STORY SHORT? I've lost complete interest in this company and their releases. Slightly longer version below~ I wanted to give them some leeway on their whole thing until the video with HeavyMetalJesus. (Feel free to watch/listen here) There was several bits in it that have fully turned me off of them. -Claiming they want to get everybody a copy but are catering more to collectors than interested games (I'm paraphrasing a bit here) -Saying they can't make more copies and to "go to the company if you want more" -Saying they had limited funds in the beginning but actively have a crew now so this seems like nonsense now... -Unwillingness to even consider numbered runs or anything along that line I don't like the idea of missing out on something because I wasn't there within 5 or less minutes. If we could get more availability up to like... an hour or two. I could be more forgiving. I'd argue an entire day, but apparently if they have too many copies and don't sell out in a day they somehow lose more money because their "collectors" lose interest if it's not a collectible.
  4. I haven't had a CRT in some time. I did have a Framemeister setup to keep myself "futureproof" for retro gaming on modern displays, but I got tired of dealing with all of that. I'm like...60-70% emulation now. I still have my Gamecube (HDMI modded) and a PS2 (component) hooked up as far as "retro" gaming goes. I got PS3, PS4, and Switch otherwise. I packed up the PS1 for now since PS1 emulation is so easy and quick to do. I feel godslabrat summed it up really well. The only thing I'd add is this... Do you want the CHEAPEST (authentic) setup? CRT is the cheapest one. It's not necessarily easy as finding a good CRT is going to get harder and harder. Do you want the MODERN setup? This means both investing in an HDTV that works well with older gaming and investing in the OSSC or Framemeister. These are very expensive setups, but they'll keep you going and don't have to worry about the failure of a TV as you can just move your upscaler to a new TV. Do you want a cheap, modern setup and can get over physical items? Emulation. Completely embracing that last one as you can make it pretty quick and easy and next to no real power needed to do basic things, but I completely understand those who want the real setup or an authentic setup.
  5. Yeah I'm thinking it was a mistake on Valve's part. I clicked the link myself and it doesn't work now... I do have proof it was a thing though! I managed to order one while the deal was up.
  6. So here's an odd one I stumbled upon. You can get Steam Link for $1 if you purchase it with a game called ICEY. The total is like $9 before shipping (course shipping was like $8 for me). http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/5025/ICEY__Steam_Link_Bundle/
  7. Yes it does~ https://www.fangamer.com/products/undertale-ps4-vita $25 for the non-collector's edition available for PC, PS4, and PS Vita. You can also just get it digitally if you want.
  8. Wait what? I swore these used to be like $45... I think they went up in price!
  9. Hell no. It was $90 for the system, 2 controllers, Retrovision component cables, and the duo n power supply. EDIT - Those last two items go for around $40 each so someone got a great deal.
  10. SNES & Framemeister are both sold! Updating thread title.
  11. Framemeister is basically sold. Currently PENDING on all other items.
  12. With the Super NT coming out... I got some items to sell. Framemeister Bundle $280 shipped (SOLD) SNES bundle $90 shipped (SOLD) EDIT - Hot damn that went fast! THANKS FOR PLAYING!
  13. I got my physical version in a few days ago. I took pictures, but I finally got a moment to post them up! Album with the full set here -----> https://imgur.com/a/oxtC3 I'll post the main ones on here if you don't feel like clicking.
  14. Oh my... Looks like I might finally be able to eliminate the Framemeister!
  15. I have mixed feelings on Seedi. On one hand it's a pretty cool device that simplifies the playing of CD-based titles at a pretty affordable price. On the other hand, I have a PC just for emulation (which has a disc drive) and a modded PS1 that can play burned games... I can't really comment on the software ordeal at this time. The best version would be to not go against the creators wishes... But I mean people are going to anyways? And the final thought on this is that every single machine like this is going in one of two directions: 1. Emulation box with the same software as always with off the shelf parts. - These are more likely to work but feel lame cause it's something you could build yourself but... Convenience. 2. Emulation box with custom hardware and custom software. - These feel like a pipe dream at best. The only one with any hope is the Zimba 3000 (Kevtris's system), but that seems like a far off thing at most. Anybody else doing this doesn't really appear qualified and can only tell us the "grand idea" with no real delivery. I'll consider the Seedi but will probably end up passing cause I don't really need it.
  16. I wish I could offer more advice, but RetroArch (libretro) is pretty good for getting emulators on both Windows and Linux. You can download "cores", and they're basically just listed as systems which gets the appropriate emulator for each. http://www.retroarch.com/
  17. Even closer to what you posted is this... Which is actually out and purchasable. https://arduboy.com/
  18. This really seems like such an original idea... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1227007236/freeplay-zero-freeplay-cm3-by-freeplaytech https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/583173617/raspi-boy-retro-handheld-emulation-console-electro https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1985705009/piplay-portable https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2032055368/the-encade-a-portable-raspberry-pi-gaming-console https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/robotloveskitty/gamekid And those are just the ones I found by chance. (I learned of the Game Kid during it's run but passed on it.)
  19. PM sent for... Final Fantasy 7 Wild Arms Parasite Eve
  20. I bought one of these and only had it briefly... It was okay, but it wasn't amazing by any mark. I found the sound wasn't very good, and the cart slot is slightly loose. If you push the game any (which isn't hard based on its location), it can cause it to glitch and essentially disconnect. It's pretty cool using one of these, but it's not amazing by any mark. The SNES only Hyperkin Supaboy is quite a bit better but only does SNES of course. https://www.hyperkin.com/retro/supaboy/supaboy-s-portable-pocket-console-for-snes-super-famicom-hyperkin.html (Buy elsewhere but just linking so you can see)
  21. Great seller! Very open on communication. Shipped quickly and effectively. Items were exactly as described and well packed in package. Would buy from again!
  22. I only watch Pickup videos to find if they got anything interesting that's maybe a title I haven't heard of. Other than that... I kinda like the "Goodwill" style of pickup that LGR (Lazy Game Reviews) does. I think it's cool to see these things in the wild... I just don't have a lot of accessible thrift stores / junk shops in my area. The few I do see rarely have anything worth putting the effort into. The only thing I found in the several years that I tried was a Complete in Box Dragon Warrior IV. I like the idea of pickups if they go into details and show off individual games so I can find interesting titles.
  23. I think the real question we should be having is....Is Retro Gaming ruining YOUTUBERS? My stupid joke aside, I have a hard time watching some of the "look what I got sent!" stuff. It's cool that people are willing to do that, but the jealousy monster in me is all like "OH YEAH THEY TOTALLY DESERVED THAT FOR NOTHING OTHER THAN BEING KINDA SOMEWHAT FAMOUS!" Damn you envy! >_< I like a weird selection of YouTube though and try to stay away from the clickbait-esque Youtube personalities. I'm generally more into seeing or learning odd game facts or tricks.
