  1. Fantastic seller. Excellent communication. Straightforward and honest on entire transaction. Shipped quickly, effectively, and affordably. Would buy from again!
  2. Oh yeah, no totally. Their entire company seems like bullshit on how they handle things. I've listened to a couple different interviews, and they're really more about collector's buying these than gamers. The collectors, scalpers, and resellers are their real market. They seemingly sympathize with others who might be interested, but at the end of the day "they're a business". And thus... I'm just not interested anymore. I sold my only game I had from their set. I only had it because I bought it back when they didn't have such a large number of customers. I can't remember exactly when their popularity surged but... I'm not happy they aren't really trying to adjust it more than they have. Granted, their original problem of "we only have so much money and each release is a gamble" was a legitimate problem... but they're past that now and actually have multiple employees. They should probably figure something out.
  3. Metal Jesus (Youtube channel Metal Jesus Rocks) did an interview with them... They've been interviewed a few times, and they have their "reasoning" for doing things in the style that they do. The only thing worth noting (IMO) from his interview is (paraphrasing) "If you want reprints of the games we do, you'll have to go to the publisher cause we only have the license for our run." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GMaJHKXMyJk
  4. Maybe not the greatest deal, but Gamestop has some leftover pieces of their "PC Collector's Editions" that has several digital PC games released on physical disc with soundtracks and extras. Currently only $5 each, and I think they started off at $20 originally. I'm picking up Axiom Verge, but they also have Jotun, Thomas Was Alone, Rogue Legacy, and a few more. http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k-3-Collector+s+Edition+PC,28zu0 If that link doesn't work, try just searching "Collector's Edition" and select PC games. EDIT - Well crap. The handling is like $6, so if only buy one you end up spending $11...
  5. I liked the WiiU during it's run, but looking back on it... I'm not that overly fond or attached to it. The Switch has already gotten some of the better titles off of it, and cards on the table, I like it not having all the media apps on it. I already have like 3-4 other items capable of streaming media in one way or another, so I'd prefer my game console just remain a game console in that regard. Only bummer is that I'm losing all of my digital titles when I get rid of it. You can't sell your account, and it's attached to the account. Really hoping Nintendo will rectify this... It's worth mentioning here that I'm going to sell mine soon, and I have a few decent titles and some of the bundle stuffs. (Wind Waker with the Ganondorf statue, Twilight Princess with Wolf Link, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, Bayonetta 2 First Print w/ Bayonetta 1 disc) Anybody who sees this and might be interested is welcome to message me. (I hate making another sell thread just for a small selection of stuff.)
  6. Constantly resisting the urge to look in the Limited Run Games thread by MetalJesus... I want the view and post count to remain at 0. >_<

      Iwantgames you ruined it! D:

atari2600land it is in Modern Gaming

Keatah I don't really care a lot about it either. Just found it funny how much the forum is ignoring it. (probably because of the negativity and crapiness of Limited Run Games)

  7. Just based on previous history with all of these.... OG Xbox Modded - I have little experience with this. I had one quite some time ago, and I liked it then... but I can't remember it being insanely amazing. Granted, I was working with an older setup, and I hear CoinOPS is pretty fantastic. I think there's a thread voting for best emulation box, and Xbox wins out. RaspPi 3 - I didn't have a Pi 3. I got a Pi 2. However, from my experience, the initial setup is pretty easy and straightforward. You get an image and put it on an SD card. Then you add roms. That part was pretty easy and straightforward... and then I tried adding a 360 controller. For whatever reason, this gave me a HUGE ordeal of issues, and I ended up just getting rid of mine. Everybody's experience with setup varies a bit. I imagine it's slightly better than setting up an Xbox, but it's not as simple as just a regular Windows PC would be. Of the options you said, I'm voting RaspPi 3... However I just recently switched over to an "Emulation Box" setup, and I'm gonna have to realistically respond for the Windows HTPC. I recently picked up a Dell Optiplex 390 for $80 (Intel Core i3, Intel Video, 4 GB RAM), and I've actually been able to do quite a bit. I've reliably tested NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, N64, PS1, Saturn, and GameCube. (Obviously with Windows there's a plethora of emulators, but those are the ones I personally have tried). Everything runs pretty well and only required a bit of setup here and there. The GameCube runs pretty well considering, but I did have to tweak settings. I can't completely comment on RaspPi 3, but I remember the Pi 2 couldn't really handle the N64 and never even tried Saturn. Gonna say definitely no GameCube though. I can't comment on any other emulators on a cheap, budget PC, but in my opinion... It's the best way to go with RaspPi 3 being a close second.
  8. It is super delayed, but I went ahead and took some screenshots of LaunchBox! I bought the Premium version, so I have Big Box. Screenshots vary from the program itself in plain jane mode (which is still pretty good), and a few shots of the Big Box mode showing off a couple of themes. I took only a handful of screenshots, but I'll try and upload more at a later time. Imgur Album Here Now for a few select shots for those who don't care about a small album... LaunchBox "Plain Jane" mode - I still really like this. Nice simple interface that you can customize the view a bit. I haven't messed much with it, but you can view by cover/box, by cart/disc, and they have some 3d images available for these as well. Now for a couple select Big Box Mode stuff. I'll only link the more default look, but I've also tried out an "EmulationStation" theme I found. (I realize this is silly, but I do like EmulationStation's layout overall.)
  9. I think it's been argued multiple times on multiple threads on multiple forums about this topic... I feel it comes down to multiple factors for everybody. (CRT vs Upscaling) Let's just say the positives of both and move on as we usually do. CRT - Quick, effective, and still the cheapest option. Pretty much all systems were made with CRTs in mind. On top of that, CRTs have little to zero input lag AND are still the only way to play light gun games properly. Upscaler - The most futureproof method. You can make games look super delightful and killer on these. With the proper setup, you'll get the absolute best you could ever possibly get out of old consoles. At the end of the day though? This is completely and utterly opinion. You can't argue for these methods beyond opinion. I'd say they both are great options. I'd have gone CRT, but I'm just not sure where to look and finding them will get harder and harder. Not to mention a broken one would be difficult to repair at best. One could always go for the next option... EMULATION! I've said enough though. As far as the SCART option goes, I'd argue to either put forward an investment or just find a nice CRT. As many have stated, the middle ground on this isn't going to be as appealing as you'd think...
  10. I have a feeling they shot up in price for the same reason every new "collectible" is shooting up in price... There's people who spend all their time scalping "collectible" items now. I wonder when we hit a breaking point of the only people buying these items is the people trying to resell them?
  11. ubersaurus covered the majority of this, so I apologize for the repeat, but I wanted to expand on it a bit (with some helpful links I hope). Pros - RGB is the best signal you're going to get from most older consoles. Once you get everything on SCART, you can focus on the one input and having it almost entirely running on that. They look SO GOOD that you'll never want to go back! Cons - Cost. First and foremost, the cost adds up. It's a lot of money to do something you can easily accomplish with an emulator. (I'm not ragging on people wanting the real deal! I used to be one of these people. I just gave up recently.) You have to get a full setup to do SCART. You're going to want/need a really nice upscaler that can handle RGB Scart (Framemeister or OSSC are suggested here.) You'll need to invest in individual cables per console. There are only a couple different groups that make good SCART cables. -In America, there's an eBay seller that's moved to a pure website. (Went by Retro Console Accessories, but now they're at https://retro-access.com/ ) -There's also a UK based operation Retro Gaming Cables. (https://www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/) A majority of consoles output RGB naturally, but there are some that require modding. I believe ubersaurus covered them all well enough. A good portion of Retro Consoles have RGB in them. The most common two wanted that don't... are the NES and N64. Both of them require an RGB mod done to them, and there's a member on AtariAge who not only does it but probably has a few spares lying around for direct sell. (Yurkie, look for his threads in the marketplace) The mods aren't cheap. I think the NESRGB mod is like $200ish to have done. N64RGB is closer to $100. I believe beyond those two... Most of them can do it naturally although you might have to get a specific cable to do it. (There's a whole thing about sync that I learned but not the best person to explain.) With those many cables, you'll want a SCART switch most likely. So that's another investment. I mean really overall... The only negative to SCART route is the overall investment. If you're determined and can afford it, then cool! Go for it~ BIG NOTE! DO NOT CONFUSE JP-21 WITH SCART! TWO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS! Choose one or the other, don't do both! Even if you already knew that, I'd still like it there for anybody reading all of this. They look the same. They generally act the same. Only difference is internals involving power... so important to remember! Final Note? A really good series of videos is done by My Life in Gaming. I've linked their RGB Master Class video playlist. Highly recommend watching to get an idea of what you will want or need.
  12. Every post I've made on this topic has been misconstrued in one way or another. I linked the comic because it seemed right, but I missed the obvious sour grapes tone (despite being how obvious it is).
  13. Actually! The GBA games on the 3DS were part of an early 3DS Apology/Adopters program. Anybody who bought and registered their 3DS before a certain time got 10 free NES games and 10 free GBA games. The NES games all got an actual release but the GBA titles were exclusive to "3DS Ambassadors". They were never delisted... They just were never listed in the first place.
  14. Oh yeah! I spotted this on RetroUSB's Facebook page earlier. Figured I should share it here.
  15. In all honesty, I didn't realize it was the same game when I posted it. I thought it was some fancy remixed version, but that ended up not being true. Knowing now that it was the same game as the original... Kinda disheartening at best. At worst it's almost deceitful of them. It's long since sold out now, but it's kinda a shame to see "half" effort put into this. Capcom (also iam8bit) just trying to capitalize on the retro hype in the end. I mean Sega gave us a fake Sega console with Sonic stepping on it plus extra stuff and the code for a game... $80. Just another reason I kinda want to start saying "Screw Capcom!" *hides his copies of Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2*
  16. On another thread in Classic Gaming, someone bought one of these converters. He didn't seem very impressed with results, but also had a different issue you may or may not have with it. Post was by "keepdreamin" on the "Sega Saturn to HDMI" thread.
  17. Fair enough. I just found it funny how much crap it got. Although I will say I just saw what appeared to be a new title here, but then I saw later on (and after many pointed out) that it's just plain jane Street Fighter II... That made it lose a lot of value to me. I shared it figuring someone here MIGHT want a copy, but it seems the general consensus is no on something like this. I'll post up if there's ever another cool release like this, but this still is like 2-3 of ones I shared before and then like no response and/or real interest.
  18. Welp, I'll keep anything like this to myself then in the future. Yeah it's overly expensive, but I thought it was kinda neat. (Wasn't going to buy it... I'd consider at like $60 or less though.)
  19. So it looks like an official re-release of Street Fighter II as a 30th Anniversary cart for the Super Nintendo. It's supposed to be a real cartridge that works. It's kinda expensive... Or I'd go ahead and get it. Looks snazzy as all get out though! Jump on it! https://store.iam8bit.com/products/street-fighter-ii-30th-anniversary-edition EDIT - Sorry at work and only had a moment to post it up. Here's a few of the images from the page.
  20. Another bump! Could be last bump, but it probably won't! All items that aren't currently pending have been changed to "Best Offers." I will entertain most if not all offers... to a point. Don't lowball me like crazy, but I'll try to match where I can. Sega Genesis is off the table at this point. If the current person doesn't buy it, I've got someone else lined up for it. Nintendo 64 is pending with the same person, but they haven't responded recently. It'll most likely go to eBay next if they fail to respond by next week.
  21. So... Your answer is to not make one at all? I'm going to assume this is a joke at someone's expense.
  22. I can agree with this, but I do have a slight counterpoint to it. The problem with relying on a upscaler is that if by chance (hopefully never) it goes bad... You've lost the item that makes your whole setup work. The HDMI mods, while expensive, give you something that should work directly with HDTVs for at least a decent period of time. Honestly? I have wanted to eliminate my Framemeister from my setup. I'm almost there now, but I'm still relying on it for my SNES (HDRetrovision cable... my HDTV doesn't like 240p over component), my PS2 (Framemeister adds nice options to make this look better), and my modded PS1 (the only thing using direct RGB right now). If there was an HDMI solution for the SNES, I'd probably get rid of it. The biggest replacement people are going after is the OSSC. It seems to do pretty well, but I haven't looked into it a lot myself. I believe it comes out a bit cheaper than the Framemeister, but the group making it do it in batches and you gotta jump on it. Not Limited Run Games sellout, but I think they sell out within a few hours. HDRetrovision said they were working on a device like it, but they haven't really said anything about it recently... As far as multiple systems go, everybody just gets switch boxes for everything. lol Component, composite, and S-Video are still pretty easy in this regard. The problem child was SCART. However, there is currently the gscartsw! It's expensive, but it offers a reliable, fancy SCART switch box. SO!... If you absolutely love classic games, seems like CRT is the cheapest method. lol Framemeister is one of the best methods without having to mod everything (NES and N64 withstanding). HDMI mods are great for one or two consoles but greatly add up over time! Also there's the issue where not everything has an HDMI mod... Looking at you Super Nintendo. :I Including both links at bottom for ease as well! https://www.videogameperfection.com/products/open-source-converter/ http://www.gretrostuff.com/store/gscartsw-v3-4/ FINAL EDIT! I did find a (somewhat) chart for buying modern TVs that see 240p! HDRetrovision had a small assortment listed on their chart, but it only lists a handful, and I bet this chart is kinda old now. I'll add a link to the page and the PDF as well, but the short version is... You're probably going to have to buy Samsung. http://www.hdretrovision.com/240p/#list HDRetrovision 240P TV test results 2016.pdf
