  1. This is probably the only thing I miss with my Framemeister/Best Quality setup. With my consoles setup as is, the light gun won't work on anything. Best I can do is PS3 with Move controllers. (Several light gun style games available for Move but not quite the same.) Thankfully I'm not a huge nut about playing light gun games, but I do miss having the option all together... Damn you modern technology!
  2. I went ahead and got my whole setup to do the GBI software versus the Game Boy Player disc. http://uk.codejunkies.com/Products/SD-Media-Launcher__EF000580V.aspx All you'll need is the SD Media Launcher and an SD card that's 4 GB or less (just regular SD, NOT SDHC). You can use this to do quite a bit on its own. You can launch Gamecube homebrew (like GBI), emulators (most work surprisingly well with weirdness), and "backups". (You're welcome to read "backups" however you like.) I will say that if you're interested in doing "backups" that you'll probably want to investigate a better Gamecube SD Card reader than the one that comes with SD Media Launcher. It's really only good for Homebrew. I used this thread on Reddit for links and some help. https://www.reddit.com/r/Gamecube/comments/40u3d6/sd_media_launchersd_gecko_and_homebrew_set_up/
  3. Short Version - I regret the cost of "best video quality" but tend to get over it because money is spent and futureproof (more or less). I kinda jumped the gun and went straight for Best Video Quality. Got a framemeister, cables, mods, and all that sort. I love the overall clear picture, but I do sometimes question my overall decision. I will say at the end of the day I'm happy with what I've chosen to do, but I do sometimes wonder how things could have been had I invested in a nice CRT TV instead. Worst case? I figure the "best video quality" option at least helps me futureproof because even with great care happening, eventually the old TVs will die and getting them fixed will get harder and more expensive as fewer people have the skillset to repair them. I kinda see this issue with the company I work with and their obsession with neon. Neon's cool and all, but there are a lot less people who work on it and they pay out the butt to get the neon fixed and put in place.
  4. My Enthusiasm! EDIT - Okay more serious answer. I've sold a lot of games and items that I kinda regret now. Probably the biggest one is my original Game Boy. Big ol DMG-01 that survived my childhood and then I let my family sell it. I think they got a couple dollars for it.... -_- EDIT 2 - To clarify! It was sold more than a decade ago.
  5. The sad/crappy part of all this is how many people are going for it... It's Amiibo fever all over again. Wonder how much good faith Nintendo honestly has left with some of their fans.
  6. Wii and Xbox seem about even in this regard really. Xbox seems to have a larger selection of emulators than the Wii, but the Wii is good for basics (GameCube support is pretty nice too). I imagine the cost of getting either one and setting it up is pretty similar too... I'd look over what each offers for emulation but go with whichever console you already have on hand. I voted Wii but that's because I have done a couple softmods of that before and always been pretty satisfied with results. IMO Raspberry Pi is great but can cause a lot of frustrations getting it just right. (More personal experience than anything mind you.) If you aren't careful, you easily spend more on the Rasp Pi setup than either console and still get the same basic experience.
  7. Most people on here won't even consider without some kind of set price. Worst case go way over what it might be worth and someone might message you with a lower bid. Also pictures always help.
  8. Resident Evil 4. One more time~ And also every time it releases again.
  9. I'm thinking of buying some Repros of Pokemon games, but I was interested in any input or feedback someone might have on these. Interested in a repro of Pokemon Crystal because the real copies are $40+ right now. I know the Chinese bootlegs are cheap and poorly made. Any input on Repros or the hacks is greatly appreciated! I got Shiny Gold randomly and it seems good and appears to work just fine.
  10. They have a right to protect their intellectual property. Just seems weird for them to suddenly lash out at every project now. I doubt they were in the dark about all of this for the past decade or more... (not 100% sure when modified roms started getting prominance)
  11. Based on my use with controllers and emulators, most emulation software wasn't built with controller not swapping in mind. The only one I know of that can almost immediately swap is RetroArch but even it requires sometimes changing the setting. Only thing I can think of is if it has a shortcut key for changing input.
  12. Feel like Nintendo should probably focus on making games and systems that people actually want rather than worrying about fan projects.
  13. There was a local event at Gamestop where you could try out the PS VR. I would like to start by saying I was pretty anti-VR before trying it. I got to play 4 of the 5 demos. EVE Valkyire, VR Worlds, Battlezone, and SUPERHYPERCUBE. Valkyire was the highlight of those. Just need to find out how I can justify $500 for a big purchase. Lol
  14. I remember asking him some time ago... and it is possible, but I don't think they make a component cable that'd work for the RGB N64 port? He confirmed that composite and S-video definitely work out the port, but I don't think you get the real benefit of the matter without RGB.
  15. Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalled iiiiiiiiiiiiiiit http://www.businessinsider.com/pokemon-uranium-fan-game-shut-down-by-nintendo-2016-8 Could have found any kinds of links. I just picked one at random.
  16. Yurkie responded to my PM the other day. I deleted it before I thought about posting the information here. Seems there is issues getting the actual mod, and he is losing interest in even doing it at this point. Just figured I'd pass it along. He worded it a bit better than that but that's the short version.
  17. Got my bluetooth receivers in today! They work super well, and they even double as a bluetooth adapter for your PC! You have to plug them in and download a program to update the firmware. Weirdly enough, one of the receivers was up to date and the second one was several versions behind. Tried out the SNES30 8bitdo controller and a WiiU Pro controller. Both work super well and feel just right. It's definitely a worthwhile buy if you want wireless controller setup for your SNES. I'd advise paying more for shipping if you don't want to wait 2+ weeks from PlayAsia though...
  18. The only way I could find retro games in Tuttle, OK is if I were to rob them from people's houses, but that would require breaking in and searching them. Odds are not in my favor for finding very much unless someone in town is a secret vintage game hoarder or a random old person that has them in their attic.
  19. I dunno why I wanted a SNES back in the day... Just seemed like the console to have. I finally got my own like 8 years ago when a friend sold me one. It was a really nice one that he modded a blue light on. He even did a really fancy method to remove the internal tabs (think he heated a blade and cut them off so they looked nicer). He even sold me my copies of X2 and X3. Think I paid $80 for both of them? That friend killed himself a few years back though... And that SNES is easily one of my more cherished pieces in my collection. I have a lot of titles for it, and many came through that friend. Beyond that friendship, I've just always wanted a SNES and remember many fond times before ownership and after ownership. Super Mario World with cousins, Mega Man X with a good friend, or learning about new classics for me through Earthbound or other RPGs. I bought a CIB copy of Final Fantasy 2 (4) with only mild cosmetic damage that was MAYBE played once for $26. I understand the want or need to want the carts. Hell, I was there just a year ago, but I finally decided it wasn't worth the slowly increasing cost. That and with less time and funding for games, I figured the flashcart would be a good investment. Who knows? I might still buy a cart here and there because they are pretty cool to have and just feels better than a flashcart. However, I'm not going to spend $70+ on any single titles. Overall, it's my favorite game console. The only close comparison is my PS1 but for differing and equal reasons. As nobody might ever say.... SNES IS LIFE. SNES IS LOVE. So let's just agree that we have differing ways to play or collect for SNES and focus on the love for great titles.
  20. They released Mega Man X for New 3DS. ...I know what I'll be playing! After that, probably go back to playing through Pokemon Yellow.
  21. It's unfortunate. One of the more well loved systems of that age is probably one of the more sought after. All of us here clearly love it but hate how much it costs to buy in so we're all bitter about it? Lol
