  1. *Shop Closed* I've decided to just keep my setup. It's too much cost and effort to change over, and I don't hate the setup.
  2. Completely agree with this statement, but it's just getting harder to afford some of the big titles I want. Wouldn't mind spending a few bucks on cheap, random, and interesting titles, but I can't justify any title more than about $60+ considering how much they add up with each cart. I've got a decent collection as is, so I have most of what I want give or take a few rarer (expensive) titles.
  3. The rising cost of SNES games (especially the big name or cult classics) is why I went ahead and invested in a Super Everdrive. (SD2SNES is the better one but didn't need expanded capability for double cost.) Regardless of which you choose, a one time cost of $130 to $200+ is quite a bit cheaper than buying just a few high cost titles. Totally worth the investment. All I lack at this time is GB everdrive, N64 everdrive, and the GBA everdrive when it releases.
  4. My favorite SNES games are kinda varied but almost always come back to two titles... Mega Man X and Donkey Kong Country 2 - Diddy's Kong Quest I like a lot of SNES titles in general, but those two are easily my favorites. Original X might be easy but still just feels the best of the first 3. Got hooked on DKC2 over the first one for whatever reason. I think it's the better and more varied title. (Also quite a bit harder than the first.) Honorable mentions For SNES is... Super Mario World - Loooove the cape~ Wild Guns - Would love to own an actual cart but screw paying $200+ for this Legend of the Mystical Ninja - Fun title that I'm just awful at Pink Panther in Pink Goes to Hollywood - A very strange title that has weird locations but fun (often difficult) platforming.
  5. Kinda looks like Detroit... ALTERNATE JOKE All we need now is a celebrity asking for donations to feed these poor dying arcades. Please send us your quarters! A roll of quarters will help keep these arcade machines going for a few minutes to a few hours depending on popularity and difficulty!
  6. You'll have to wait for another group to pick them up. When they released the NES one, Amazon ended up carrying them a few weeks later. Probably have to wait about them same period. (No idea why they go with Play Asia... I'll be lucky if I get mine in a week.)
  7. I've already ordered two and a 8bitdo SNES controller to go with it~ As soon as I saw their NES bluetooth adapter, I immediately thought "can't wait for the SNES version..."
  8. This exists for the SNES now. http://www.analogue.co/pages/8bitdo-x-analogue-snes Just ordered two of them. Lol
  9. Could make it more custom Do the three starters and their evolutions followed by three custom choices and then have a list. (starters and evolutions would fill 9 spots and let them choose from a small grouping) Would encourage people to pick their team bird. (legendary birds)
  10. If you are doing it because of the new craze from Pokemon Go, I would suggest sticking to Generation 1. You could easily full it up with the starters and their evolutions (Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, etc) The three Legendary birds would work as well. (Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos) Pikachu was a given as well. Eevee and its evolutions (Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon) Dratini and evolutions work well. Mew and Mewtwo are good. Only other thing I can think I of would be doing the first 12 numbered, but you would end up with a weird scenario.
  11. I'm super tempted but have no use for this since I have the whole Framemeister setup with RGB NES, but I will say this is a pretty good (and cool) move by Nintendo. I would be excited to see it in person and see how it runs. If I have random extra money, I miiiight invest.
  12. Minor price drops and changes. PS2 added extra game. Price drop on everything else.
  13. Going to keep the list small since like most said, there's a lot to choose from here~ I'd say the following rank on top of what I love and still have. Grandia 2 (Grandia 3 is okay and Extreme costs more, go 2) Robot Alchemic Drive (get past terrible voice acting and you got a giant awesome robot fighting game) any Ratchet & Clank title (Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal are probably the best IMO) Shadow Hearts series (only played the second one but it stands on its own) Resident Evil 4 (just go and own it on every console because you should) Persona 3 or 4 (only played 3 on the PS2, but 4 remake was great on vita) The number of RPGs are endless here really. Afraid my PS2 collection was never grand, so I dunno where else to go from here really...
  14. Very interesting talk and totally worth the listen~ Makes a lot of great points, and hopefully we can see more material like Mega Man Legacy Collection coming from Digital Eclipse in the future.
  15. I have a strong feeling that it's a Raspberry Pi based system. The systems available for it plus the way it looks... I'll be honest these already exist. The only thing they're really offering is an easy to get service that lets you download everything. I saw this same basic thing on Adafruit. https://www.adafruit.com/products/2706 and https://www.adafruit.com/products/2707 There is also this guy who sells a whole kit in differing varieties. http://www.retrobuiltgames.com/the-build-page/porta-pi-arcade-kit/ You can buy just the wood, the wood and electronics, etc. http://www.retrobuiltgames.com/diy-kits-shop/
  16. This is a cool looking smartphone device, but it won't fit every phone. I swear I saw a description somewhere saying like 4.7 to 5.5 phones. I realize that's probably a majority of phones... but still. I already have like 2-3 bluetooth controllers, and I never use those, so I barely have a use for this. While this one is more convenient, you can buy bluetooth controllers with phone holders that feel awkward but have more varied usage. I'd get this if it was cheap, but we all know it probably won't be. Also like previously stated, you could buy a game boy and probably several games for the same cost as one of those.
  17. It's only free to backers I believe. Everybody else pays $5 for it. The Vermillion Destroyer level is kinda pointless. Very boring straightforward level with a boss you fight three times in exactly the same way. (Changes very little between every fight... basically no change.) However, beating the level lets you play as an alternate character with an alternate play style. Which would be cool, but it seems to have mixed opinions in the reviews. Most people don't like the play style. I haven't tried her separate campaign, but I'm unsure how I'd actually feel about the style change. Seems to be kinda like Zero but with a twist.
  18. The Call level? I'd say it's complete shit really... especially for just a one shot level. Making her kinda sneaky but then not giving her real sneak abilities? That and just not designed very well. Should have taken a different approach to the boss too. You happen to try the Vermillion Destroyer level? I thought it was super weak for a DLC.... I think it's just one REALLY short level with multiple fights against the same boss with the same moves.
  19. Friend of mine shared this old tweet with me a few days ago... https://mobile.twitter.com/pg_kamiya/status/249735186936369153
  20. I am on one of the later game stages (probably close to finishing) and my opinion is kinda staying the same. It is good and fun enough, but it isn't really meeting up to the standards it should be. It doesn't look or feel like a high budget game. There are shooting platformers that easily do better and with a much smaller budget. I have a bad feeling that we didn't kick start the game so much as we kickstarted that company. They probably ran through the budget. On top of that, I know they had several issues throughout with their community relations, and I am not referring to their stupid commercial they put out. Will I play and beat the game? Yes, I am doing so now. I like most of the characters and the general idea of the story. The gameplay just doesn't really feel overly polished or where it should be though. The graphics are a bit of a turn off because they could have done more and better. I have accepted that I suck at the game in general. If I do beat it, I probably won't come back to it again and again like I do Shovel Knight. Also seeing the Bloodstained demo makes me sad I didn't back that one... ;_;
  21. Completely agree with this (and a majority of what you said). Everybody has jumped on the hateful bandwagon of the game, and it's honestly not that bad. And I believe you are right for the most part on it. It's not quite what we were wanting or expecting considering the time and money put into it... but it's still fun to be had. I think the main people disappointed (like you stated) is those who helped fund it and then were delivered something that kinda drifted from what was promised... Not to mention the game released has essentially been done since the first demo they released early last year. (Seriously, the first "demo" they released out was like 3-4 levels of the game.) On top of that, the demo from near the end of last year had pretty much everything except for the last few stages I believe. And yeah, I can be honest and say a lot of my complaining is because I suck at it. lol I like the character designs. Just not the graphical choice. Wish they would have stuck closer to what the original concept art looked like.
