  1. But does anybody even want him at this point? I have a couple copies (I backed the Kickstarter for PC and PS crossbuy.), and I am having a lot of mixed feelings. I want to like the game and enjoy it at times, but it isn't really what I was expecting at times. The look of the game makes me feel like a low end indie group worked on it (and didn't have 4 million dollars). The game doesn't play very tight at times either. I may not be the best at platformers, but I often felt a lot of my deaths were cheap. The dash is so overpowered and really should be limited if you ask me. I like the character designs but the voice acting is kinda meh and the dialogue could be better. I don't mind silliness here and there but it's almost too much. I want to like it... But it is trying so hard to not make me like it. I will go ahead and play through it, but mostly because I sunk a decent chunk of money into the Kickstarter... (Two pledges coming out to $140 or so.) How is everybody/anybody else's experience going?
  2. Final Fantasy XII is a good game but I also have mixed feelings about it. The story is decent, but like half of the characters are just... Not very good. The game plays something like an MMO with enemies in the field, controlling one character while the rest of auto actions set up. (or set them all up and let the game play itself) I enjoyed it well enough, but I am not going to buy the HD version... Or possibly ever play it again.
  3. Definitely going to back this, but I'm going to wait to commit to make sure I'm not reaching outside of my current spending range... OTHERWISE! Great find!
  4. I have had the unfortunate selection to be part of a couple Kickstarters that have gone south... First one I ever jumped on "Super Retro Squad" has pretty much turned into "never getting this game Squad". They didn't get enough money, most of the people involved quit, and they have a new slacker backer style funding available at this time. (Sorry no fancy link for this) There's that one where the guy basically flipped his rocker over the responsibility and burned all the remaining books. The kickstarter I backed for the Goblins comic card game turned into a scam where the guy making the card game took the money and ran... and he's not even the guy who writes the comic. (Who has had to do a shitton of effort to gain the rights back to it) I think we can all agree that Mighty No 9 hasn't gone overly well considering the initial reception and love behind it. (Delayed several times and a lot of people aren't even for it anymore.) I'd say from experience... if you want to back a Kickstarter, they need to have some material to show. Examples? If it's a game, they need a demo. If it's a machine, they need a working unit to show off. (lol Retro VGS amirite?) If it's a comic/book/music being printed/recorded, they need to have their material to show off that they at least have SOMETHING on it. (IE web comic with link, pictures of the book pages, songs for the album) They have to have something. Because if the Kickstarter only has an idea... I'd say it's almost completely destined to fail.
  5. OKAY! Final post on this because I did some research and it seems there is a non-modding answer to this! You'll need an SD Card reader for the Gamecube plus something someone made called Game Boy Interface. Apparently it boots a homebrew image of the Game Boy Player disc. I don't think it's perfect but it does what you want without having to worry about the disc plus some improvements it seems. SD Media Launcher One of two options from what I can tell. and then Game Boy Interface This seems to require burning to a disc.
  6. Apparently you can get an SD card reader for the Gamecube memory card slot and use something called Swiss to load an ISO of the Game Boy Player disc. http://www.gc-forever.com/wiki/index.php?title=Swiss Never done this myself, but I found that after searching for a work around. I lucked out when someone here on AtariAge was selling their Game Boy Player complete with disc. Otherwise the Player is cheap (like $20), but the disc is always like $40+ by itself... EDIT - Okay nevermind this requires adding a mod chip as well... Still an option though I guess?
  7. I have the Gamerz Tek SNES. It is decent for the price, but like all the other clones, it is far from perfect. Definitley not as good a picture as a regular SNES, but it is a decent and cheap alternative. Comes with two controllers and a video cable that includes s-video. I would suggest the original over any clones myself.
  8. This is cool, but I'm pretty sure there are already several things like it on the market, and most of them are at a decent average human size without being insanely huge. Here's a few links. GameKid - The best contender here. It's a bit expensive, but it's easily the best without having to do much effort to assemble. Pixel Vision - If you just have money to burn... Pocket PiGRRL - These site has a lot of RaspPi projects you can do... but they're all fairly expensive (and just the kits with no Raspberry Pi).
  9. Another BUMP! I've got everything with alternate bundles and lowered the cost on existing bundles... Giving away a lot of it at this point. (I mean by how low I've dropped from my original pricing.)
  10. BUMP! I changed my mind... Added some more items. Reduced prices on other items.
  11. BUMP! Final Markdown~ I'll give everything a few more days, but then I guess I'm keeping whatever is left.
  12. This is a cool device... but I'm questioning any kind of input lag. Otherwise, I'm tempted to get one of these myself!
  13. *Bump* Prices adjusted a bit more. Moving a few items to ebay. Posted up the loose 360 games on freebies.
  14. Looks to be like good fun! Glad it'll be hitting up the PC as well cause no XB1 here anymore! Incredibly neat and interesting looking art style for sure. That's probably what makes this stand out the most. That and the gameplay makes me feel a lot more "old school boss fight" material from something like Mega Man or Gunstar Heroes.
  15. It is the N64 version. I can take pictures when I get a chance but it might be a few days (away from home until Friday).
  16. Anytime I think about my PS1... I remember a lot of great times and some amazing games. Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX (IX is my favorite but still like the other two) Final Fantasy Tactics (easily one of my favorite tactical RPGs) Front Mission 3 (LOOOOOVED IT) Grandia (just adore this game... so damn much) Mega Man X4 (second favorite Mega Man X title after the original) Mega Man Legends and Legends 2 (such a great series... screw you Capcom!) Misadventures of Tron Bonne (an odd bird that somehow is a prequel to Mega Man Legends timeline-wise) Legend of Dragoon (One of the best RPGs that you probably haven't played) Threads of Fate (always wanted this... could never find it, but then it came on PSN so YAY!) and there's probably more that I'm just not thinking of at the moment...
  17. Reduced prices bump since the interest is either not here for anything or you are waiting on me to go down a bit.
  18. I purchased one of these myself. It works but... It isn't perfect. Mostly the video output on it is kinda poor (granted it's composite so yeah). It only uses the SNES for power and controls. Other than that, it works pretty great but limited to GBA only. Probably perfect for what you want budget-wise.
  19. The only issue with the Gamecube is he'd be dealing with composite most likely. (Component is too expensive, HDMI mods are still in the works.) If you are aiming for the GBA on an HDTV, the Retron 5 might be the better option for overall ease. Otherwise, I'd agree that the Game Boy Player is the best option.
  20. Good lord! I can only imagine the frustration and dedication involved. I feel like there had to be some reprinting in there at some point. lol Really awesome end product though~
  21. Huh... Sorry about the images disappearing. Imgur deleted them for some reason. I'll be reuploading them and fixing the links. EDIT - I've readded the images. If they go away again, I'll find another site to host them. Someone please let me know if they do disappear again... Not 100% sure what happened. EDIT 2 - >_____< I think Imgur's android app doesn't like me uploading from it, so I've put them on my computer and uploading them properly that way. SORRY.
  22. While this only slightly dampers my opinion of the game... I learned that all they did to port this to PC was take the Android version and emulate it in Windows. I'm still going to love the game, but this is a bit depressing to hear that for me :/
