  1. Anytime I think about my PS1... I remember a lot of great times and some amazing games.

Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX (IX is my favorite but still like the other two)
Final Fantasy Tactics (easily one of my favorite tactical RPGs)

    Front Mission 3 (LOOOOOVED IT)

Grandia (just adore this game... so damn much)

Mega Man X4 (second favorite Mega Man X title after the original)

Mega Man Legends and Legends 2 (such a great series... screw you Capcom!)

Misadventures of Tron Bonne (an odd bird that somehow is a prequel to Mega Man Legends timeline-wise)

Legend of Dragoon (One of the best RPGs that you probably haven't played)

Threads of Fate (always wanted this... could never find it, but then it came on PSN so YAY!)

and there's probably more that I'm just not thinking of at the moment...

  2. to all that have responded to my post, thank you.

i stumbled upon the super retro advance adapter for $35

this might work well for me, since i do have an SNES.

I purchased one of these myself. It works but... It isn't perfect. Mostly the video output on it is kinda poor (granted it's composite so yeah). It only uses the SNES for power and controls.

Other than that, it works pretty great but limited to GBA only. Probably perfect for what you want budget-wise.

  3. For 139$ you should be able to get a GameCube if you doesn't already own one, and a Game Boy Player for it that will play your GB and GBA games on your TV, with real Nintendo hardware.

    *snip*

Remember that the Game Boy Player need his software disc to work, so be sure to check out for the disc if you buy one that have a very low price tag!

The only issue with the Gamecube is he'd be dealing with composite most likely. (Component is too expensive, HDMI mods are still in the works.)

If you are aiming for the GBA on an HDTV, the Retron 5 might be the better option for overall ease.

Otherwise, I'd agree that the Game Boy Player is the best option.

  4. Huh... Sorry about the images disappearing. Imgur deleted them for some reason. I'll be reuploading them and fixing the links.

EDIT - I've readded the images. If they go away again, I'll find another site to host them. Someone please let me know if they do disappear again... Not 100% sure what happened.

    EDIT 2 - >_____<
I think Imgur's android app doesn't like me uploading from it, so I've put them on my computer and uploading them properly that way. SORRY.

  5. My previous HDTV had two composite spots and one of those two had s-video.

During that period, I used these two mechanical a/v switches with 4 ports to handle eveything. I had few enough HDMI at that point that each one had its own slot.

(around 8 consoles at that point)

When I changed to my Framemeister setup, I had to rearrange and eliminate the a/v switches. Currently have a 4k HDTV with 5 HDMI spots and one component. All the HDMI are taken (PC, PS3, Dish, HDMI switch, Framemeister). Component for the Wii.

HDMI switch has PS4, WiiU, 360 on it. (2 empty ports), and the Framemeister has the PS2 on d-terminal and everything else gets to cycle through the RGB port since a good SCART switch either doesn't exist or is very expensive. Consoles here are NES, SNES, Sega Genesis w/ Sega CD addon, and PS1.

So my current setup has 10 consoles on it.

I did have the Saturnon Framemeister composite but that is gone.

The look from the front is pretty nice, but the rat's nest behind it all is a nightmare. T.T

  6. I'll buy it and play it, but I'm just not as excited for a new FF as I used to be. Maybe it's all the pointless spinoffs, or maybe it's just that they've been so uneven since the PS3/360 era. The whole 'FF 13 saga' also left me with a bad taste in my mouth (1st one was ok, the 2nd one was better but a bit of a WTF?!? with the ending, and the 3rd one was an abomination unto the Lord). The last FF I really enjoyed was 12. There are just too many good RPGs and not nearly enough free time to play them all.

After playing through everything in a line as I did... Completely agree with a majority of your statement here. FFXIII was generally bad while what little time I gave FFXIII-2 was actually pretty impressive. I didn't get far enough to see an ending though... and apparently glad I didn't take the time. No plans to play XIII-3.

I wasn't the hugest fan of XII, but I mostly didn't get into the characters or story that much. My last true favorite is FFX.

And with FFXV coming down the line... I'm going to give it a shot because I want to hope it's great enough to stand above the rest. Will it be? ...Square Enix has dug a massive hole which they need to get out of because there's so much time and work behind this that if it's not a phenomenal success... Square Enix is probably f***ed.

I want XV to be good, but I also would greatly prefer more turn-based RPG. lol
