  1. You're going to have a very rough time finding something with 8 ports plus S-video that is cheap on top of it. My understanding is only high end units are made to those kinds of specifications. I found one really close unit on Amazon, but it doesn't quite meet your criteria... The first one is the closest I found at 6 ports. Anything above seems either not available or incredibly expensive. BIRUGEAR - 6 input, 1 output w/ S-video The only problem with this request is that S-video seems to be uncommon on anything above about 4 input switches. Probably because somewhere on the number of ZERO new TVs use it. (I had an old Vizio with two S-video, but my newest TV has nothing which makes me sad.) I honestly think you're better off trying to daisy chain it and buy two smaller units to hook together. My understanding is that the output would only take a minor hit doing this. I know because I did it myself for the longest time and never really noticed anything.
  2. I enjoy my WiiU and would recommend it, but there's a reason you are getting that one so cheap... It's an 8 GB Model. I got mine at launch thinking I could flip it, but then I went "nope" and kept it. The problem I ran into fairly quick (even with disc-based games) is that everything was eating up those 8 GBs of space. System updates alone took nearly half of the space, and I was left with nothing to install games or even game updates. I ran out and got a small 32 GB flash drive (I wanted a tiny one that wasn't always sticking out of the console) and plugged that in. If you do go for that, definitely invest in a flash drive or external hard drive. One of the few flaws of the WiiU is Nintendo pushing towards digital content but only giving you 32 GB (on all newer revisions) to deal with it all...
  3. Well the title is partially self explanatory, but let me get into the main details. I bought an old 360 off of a friend, and the system works fine overall. (Need a new rubberband for the disc drive, but I can get the discs out regardless so back burner for this.) However, the two controllers he included with it are... in fairly awful condition. They look fine and dandy, but both analog sticks on both controllers are just terrible. I have looked into replacing the sticks (and it seems simple enough), but I guess I'm just wondering... 1. Has anybody done this kind of replacement before and was it worth the time? 2. If you answered yes to the first question, then I would ask the follow up. Was it very hard? My soldering skill is amateur at best. 3. Should I just say "screw it" and toss both controllers out and buy new ones? The overall cost would probably be like... $20 for both controllers. (4 new analog stick pieces and the tool to open the controller) I guess it comes down to the difficulty of the task versus if buying a new one is the better bet. These are the guides I found on fixing them. Guide 1 (Left Analog Stick) Guide 2 (Right Analog Stick)
  4. I could get behind this game. Looks very different and interesting. If the gameplay holds up to what the trailer shows, I'm in. However I would say looks more like a 3rd person shooter than an action RPG, but it didn't really show off any RPG elements so I'm unsure.
  5. I'd like to take a peak at this Preview Program. GamerTag - KeeprOfLindblum I'd like to say thanks for the opportunity to get in!
  6. Does nobody else find it slightly tacky that they announced a major game at E3 and then you find out it's a Kickstarter game? (Nothing against those mind you.) Also would like to preface my next part with this... I'll buy the Final Fantasy 7 Remake thing they are making, but... Do we really want or need a remake of Final Fantasy 7? The game is pretty readily available to get and play on multiple platforms now. Why remake something that was already great and so easy to get? I have this nagging feeling that a "remake" of the game will end up breaking apart what was great about the original. Maybe they add in things that nobody really wants, and the worst thought... They'll change it. I'm not talking a minor change but something huge that could rival some of the other major changes. You know how people reacted with all the changes to Star Wars... How will they react with this? I guess in the end, I'd rather see a brand new game than a remake of an old one we've all already played before. Is that so wrong?
  7. So glad to see that this is a thing! I'll be buying the game. I'll be watching the movie. Looks like it's going to be AWESOME!
  8. I honestly really love my PS3. It has a HUGE amount of media access (I stream things all the time from my computer to it but USB also works well), what feels like one of the largest libraries (physically and digitally) of any system out, can play physical PlayStation 1 discs (also PS2 if you get an old one but those are dying out), free online play (no PS+ required for the PS3), and although the new titles are finally winding down... you can get a lot of the older titles for super cheap! The PlayStation Network does a large number of sales. While not quite as good as Steam sales (Let's be honest. Nobody matches the shear discounts like Steam sales!), they happen fairly often and tend to have at least 2-3 good games at a great price. I'd easily stand behind getting a PS3 right now, even with its age coming to an end.
  9. There is a difference between the PS4 store and the PS3 store. There's a lot of variety on both stores, but only the PS3 has the majority access. (IE all the PSOne and PS2 classics) PS4 store does get quite a bit on there, and they have their "PlayStation Now" deal going on... but that's basically a streaming/rental service with a huge assortment available. If you were wanting the PS4 store purely for the classics section, you are out of luck there.
  10. Just got back my NES from a modding job by the Mr. Yurkie... My RGB modded NES looks AMAZING on my big TV (plus the Framemeister), and as an added bonus, he cleaned and reworked the ol' 72 pin connector so it works perfect once again. Like a brand new console with beautiful video! The mod looks incredibly professional and clean as well. Definitely not an amateur. Here's a few images showing off the work and results. (FYI, I donated the green LED for the console light. Normally he does blue, but he went with my silly request. ^_^) The final two screenshots are the Legend of Zelda side by side (persay) with and without the scanlines you can add with the Framemeister. (Everything above has scanlines.) WITHOUT SCANLINES! WITH SCANLINES EDIT - Sorry about the random angles of the TV pictures. I don't have a capture device, and I took the pictures from a few different angles without thinking about it. >_<
  11. I liked what Amiibo Tap is, but when I went through my small group of Amiibos... Everything I unlocked was a game I already had either on the virtual console or on a REAL console. XO Still pretty cool to see what all you can get out of it though!
  12. Finally beat Majora's Mask 3D. (Was determined to get all the masks and kept leaving the game to play others) Next up is either Bravely Default or Xenoblade Chronicles....
  13. Seems like a majority of people here use a mixture of emulation and real hardware. I'd say that I'm a huge mixture of the two, but more recently I've pushed towards the real hardware versus emulation. Problem with that is I don't really need to spend money considering how easy (and cheap) it is to emulate... On top of that the use of RetroArch + an Xbox 360 controller makes emulation a breeze and all the configurations available is pretty awesome. I'd recommend that particular combo to anybody!
  14. I'm kind of tired of these lazy updated releases... I enjoyed some of the HD Remasters of games and especially those that actually had quite a bit of effort put in. (IE Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD) But now I feel like developers are just getting lazy about their selections. Most of these games aren't even that old if you ask me, and an "HD Remaster" or whatever seems kind of pointless when the game was last gen.
  15. I'm planning to go to this, so I wouldn't mind the AtariAge tag and lanyard. Daniel Lair + my username KeeperofLindblum.
  16. I don't think the voice acting is that bad honestly. There's just a few scenes that are mind numbing. However if you really want bad voice acting... Robot Alchemic Drive! I'd like to add that the game itself is actually pretty good outside of the horrific voice acting.
  17. So here's a great deal that just popped up on Humble Bundle! It's the Nintendo Indie game bundle! Available through the Nintendo eShop for the WiiU and 3DS. It's pay what you want with the charity bit as always. (I assume most people have done a Humble Bundle before...) Current games available are: -Pay What You Want- Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition (WiiU) Woah Dave! (3DS) Mighty Switch Force! (3DS) -Pay At Least $10- Stealth Inc 2 (WiiU) Steam World Dig (WiiU and 3DS) -Pay More Than The Average- (Currently $9.24) The Fall (WiiU) OlliOlli (WiiU and 3DS) Moon Chronicles: Episode 1 (3DS) More Games Coming Soon! These are all the current titles you can get for the meager price of $10! You are welcome to pay more to give more to charity, or you can pay less and not get everything there. It's a really great deal, and I can tell you that Guacamelee! alone is worth a few dollars and your time. A metroidvania with a Latino twist. (You're a Luchador... It's pretty awesome.) In case you missed the link up above... Here's another one! ---> HUMBLE BUNDLE!
  18. Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man are easily my favorite arcade titles to play. Too bad there's not any real arcades around here where I live...
  19. I've seen a few images for Infinity 3.0. I like the design of the figures and would almost be interested in buying the figures alone, but the games... are just too expensive to get into. Even after you get the starter kits, you tend to want something like 10+ other characters. Too expensive to play an otherwise quite fun set of games. (Skylanders was the same way though.)
  20. All the capability of the WiiU... and I'm playing Mega Man Battle Network 2! Cheaper than buying the cart at the moment, and easily one of my favorite GBA titles. (Behind Metroid Fusion)
  21. I've installed a few games and looked it over. So far just seems like Steam but for GOG. BEYOND THAT, I still like what they are doing with it. I have it installed and might actually buy and play games from GOG now. One interesting feature I found while trying out Tyrian 2000 was that you could change the video filter through the Galaxy client. Granted I could have probably done this before, but it was neat to see it implemented as it was. I also like the idea of being able to download offline backup copies.
  22. Glad you posted this bug up here. I was considering getting the game (fancy collector's one), but if this bug is present... and I already own both the PS3 and PS Vita versions, it's probably a good idea to skip past this one.
  23. Oh my~ I will definitely give the demo another shot if this update promises what it says it does. Thanks for the update on this.
