I really hope Square Enix pulls off something truly masterful and memorable with Final Fantasy XV... Because if XV fails, we could truly be seeing the FINAL Final Fantasy title. That being said, I don't really see how it could fail other than not being a great game. Why? Because people will most likely buy it up in the vein that "Huzzah! Final Fantasy returns to us!" Then we all get stabbed in the back with "not good game or story" betrayal. The demo was only meant to be a small taste of the game though, and on top of that, they sent out emails to people who did try the demo to fill out a survey. I gave my honest opinion and basically stated what I said in my blog post about the combat. I like where it is going, but there's a lot of fixing needs done. I figure they'll find a way for you to go through the water or go over it at least. I did feel that exploration was super slow while walking on foot and there's not really any way to split it up. And are you sure about the marker? I swore there was some method of placing markers for quests. Unless you just meant in general... in which case, you're probably right. Didn't know about the Side Quests thing either. Maybe they have randomly generated "daily" quests and that's what all the Side Quests are. The biggest thing I wish I had recorded though happened upon my first journey out. It was growing dark, and I was heading for the nearest campsite to try and save. Along the way though, I got attacked by a squadron of solders/robots/robot soldiers, and I was getting my ass handed to me. We could barely scratch their armor, and when I finally took some down, more appeared! I don't remember all the exact conditions, but it was late at night and a ship came over my head to drop them. Messed up trying to save the video for it though, so I completely lost all that happened. It was easily the most epic event that happened to me outside of the almost terrifying exploration of the caves with all the goblins. (That killed me on my first entry inside. >_<)

This is kind of a weird (also sorta lazy) question, but does anybody know of a good site that keeps up on current release dates? I looked over IGN, but their list isn't really in order or anything. I'm looking for a site that has an actively established release date set for like... the next couple weeks or months (if months is possible). Doesn't necessarily have to be video games exclusively either. It'd be nice to have a broader look at what is coming out each week that is organized by day or week. I know I can just search something like "what comes out X day", but I'm looking for something more organized. So... anybody have any clues? I'm not like super concerned with knowing, but out of curiosity and liking to keep an open eye, I would like to know of anything.

Ultra Rare HALO XBOX Discovered in Seattle!

Pretty cool story. Always awesome to happen upon something like that just by chance. I would wonder though... Doesn't it make the friend who randomly sold it kinda lame? XD -
Final Fantasy Playing the Whole Series
KeeperofLindblum replied to StanJr's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You can play through all of the main numbered series. (Skipped the online titles) They are all out in one way or another. I know because I did it over a period of two years. (Slowly obviously) *points to the blog link he has below* -

Removed a few items. Added generic pricing. All the removed items will be up on the free thread in a few days. -
I could get behind this game. It looks like an updated version of the Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee.

I have! I wrote a review of the demo on my blog thing. Read that here. If you want the short version, the demo was actually pretty fun, but it's still got a few shortcomings. There were a few small issues with it, but it is a demo after all. It doesn't give much insight into the characters or story yet, so it's mostly just showing off the gameplay. The gameplay was actually pretty cool though. A very interesting new style that places itself somewhere inbetween Final Fantasy XII and XIII. It's closer to an actual Action RPG with Hack & Slash elements than anything though. Think the only real problem I had was a lack of a REAL lock-on system in-game. You lock onto enemies, but the camera doesn't follow them so you're constantly moving the camera to try and keep up. If nothing else though, I assume most of you guys have seen the Ramuh summon? Epic Summons! I will be looking forward to when the actual game comes out. Just hope that it will be sooner rather than later...

What are you playing on your PlayStation 4?
KeeperofLindblum replied to Algus's topic in Sony PlayStation 4
I'm going to try and start playing Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. Also browsing this thread made me realize that Axiom Verge had finally come out... Sad that I missed it at the initial sale price, but I have been looking forward to this game regardless! Bought that game as well and looking forward to good times with both titles. -
I picked up this title at release because.... Because it had the Final Fantasy XV demo code in it. XD I played that demo almost immediately and really liked what it showed off of the game. Definitely needs some polish... but that's not what I'm talking about here. Final Fantasy Type-0 is an HD upgrade from a PSP title only released in Japan. I only got to play an hour or so of the game, but my impression so far? I'm not sure what to think. There is a lot of story here, but I've really just barely scratched the surface. There's four crystals (big surprise), a war between nations, an Empire, and a lot more. The opening sequence and cutscene last quite some time, so it's definitely not a game you can just jump into without some time. (I guess that's a given for any RPG?) Once past the big opening, I finally get to try out this game and it's... gameplay? I don't really know how to describe it. It makes me think of an action RPG with doing real-time fights and attacks. This would be pretty cool if the main character here had some kind of real weapon. Unfortunately, he's armed with cards. You can throw the cards for a range attack, but you can also "cut" the cards to charge up some sort of super or special attack. I'm still learning the ropes. I had to finally stop at one point because I ran out of time to play and my interest was kind of dwindling. I need to give it more time before I make a final decision, but it's possible I come to love it. Only other note here? The HD upgrade is very visible here. The look and design really makes me think of a PSP title. It's not really something I'd expect as a "PS4" title as far as visuals go. Normally, I wouldn't judge by that angle, but the game is a full cost title ($60), so I would hope for something that looks a bit... better. I'll post again when I get more time to really wet my nose. Anybody else pick the game up? If nothing else... Did you get it for the Final Fantasy XV demo? XD

Few items are already gone, but I'd like to remind future interested buyers to please post here first so that it doesn't seem like items are randomly disappearing. :I -

I''ve got a small grouping of the rarer SNES games I want, but then I decided I'd rather invest in a flash cart than pay a horrific amount per game. (I realize the flash carts don't work with all the special titles, but I'll get over those.) These are "eBay" prices, but those are about as inflated as possible. Demon's Crest - $150+ Metal Warriors - $200+ Wild Guns - $200+ Sunset Riders - $70+ (Genesis version is weirdly like $50 range) Super Terranigma - $70 Wild Guns is starting to piss me off. It's a great game and all, but it's not worth $200+. For that price, I can buy a flash cart or like 10-20 other games. One listing is being one of those "I'm a dick" sellers. -> Link I also love all these "OH LOOK I HAVE IT CIB AND THAT MAKES IT TOTALLY WORTH $500! 8u"

Somebody might be in luck. I've got a NES to give away. It's a custom painted one with a purple LED. Nobody seems to want to buy it, so I'm just going to give it away for the cost of shipping. I'll give the power and A/V cables and a copy of Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt. Have a single controller and a Nintendo Zapper. Console works well enough, but could probably use a new 72-pin connector. Any takers?

Sega Genesis Classic vs. Retron: which one should I get?
KeeperofLindblum replied to Tron Unit's topic in Sega Genesis
Pretty sure that no TVs in America carry a SCART input in them because the standard was really only used in Europe and Japan. (From what I could tell at least...) If you really want the best look from your Genesis, keep an eye out for this cable when they fully release it... HD Retrovision Cheaper than any upscaler and works with what you have for your TV now. Not sure what to tell you about the audio part since I use that front headphone jack with zero issues... -
New console announced: NINTENDO NX
KeeperofLindblum replied to Rev's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Let's get ready for those catchy new Nintendo ad campaigns! Probably something along the line of "NX... IT'S WHAT IS NX'T!" -OR- "THE NINTENDO NX, THE NX'T GENERATION IN GAMING!" Or something along that line... This current generation of consoles (which I know own all of for terrible reasons on my part) has been generally disappointing to me outside of the WiiU. I'm neither excited nor un-excited for the next one. Like previously stated, they really only mentioned the NX to keep people from freaking out about the mobile announcement. -
Talk with S.BAZ about it. You have 24 Hours. (Or however long it takes to broker your treaty.) If I smell the winds of hate on this though, I'll break both games in half and post the remains. Or I can cut it in half and send each of you half a disc. (But you'll have two halves of two games so that's like one WHOLE game!)
