  1. Will these be available (pre-made or as kit) to buy or make yourself ??
  2. Could it be possible to have a section in the forum for Colecovision hardware, ? >>> New Hardware, Mods, Add-ons etc for those into electronics and Colecovision ?
  3. Me too !! Will it detail Colecovision Hardware in detail ?
  4. Found a homemade V9990 board on the MSX forum : http://www.msx.org/forum/msx-talk/general-discussion/drams-v9990-vdp
  5. Hi. Is there any reason you don't have a website ?? I'm sure lots of people on the forum would be interested to see your designs etc !
  6. The PCB looks great.... and it's certainly a start ! It could even 'Evolve' into a full blow Ti-99/4A /Tomy Tutor one day ?
  7. I've seen http://www.primrosebank.net/computers/mtx/projects/mtxplus/mtxplus_arch.htm and Dave and Martin have almost finished their protoype updated MTX 512 Z80 / V9958 SN76489 machine. It is actually very impressive for a homebrew machine.. I Believe they've had it runnnig at several speeds.. 4MH..16Mhz and even 40MHz !! It's a shame a group of like-minded individuals couldn't make a updated Ti-99/4A ?
  8. To produce a 'One-Chip' TMS9900 system or System-On-a Chip , you'd need to prototype your code on a FPGA board something like an Altera DE0 or similar combining all the separate VHDL code into a working and tested system. This would take some time, but if a reasonable amount of the code is already written then it shouldn’t be too difficult. As a lot of code is already out there .. video (TMS9918,V9938??) sound Chips, CPUs , TMS9995? keyboard decoders, memory mappers etc then a lot of the work has already been done reducing the timescale considerably !
  9. Several months ago I was discussing the possibility of producing a TMS9900 system, in VHDL, with a small business in the US. They said they had TMS99xx cores in VHDL and a TMS9995 core and could do bespoke designs..obviously for money. Never got to the stage of getting a quote. But it does prove that it is possible to make/build a TMS99xx on a chip.. the tools and equipment are out there ! I've lost their email address !... and can't remember the name ! I suppose you could try Googling TMS9995 VHDL ??
  10. Hi. is there any pics of a finished / assembled unit ?? Do they have any sort of expansion to add video card etc
  11. The Simple TMS9995 PCB really sounds interesting ... where can you get one and how much are they ?
  12. Just introduce a 'Homebrew Hardware' section where you can put links and stuff to your own project website ? This would be pretty simple and effective .
  13. I've bought ICs from this supplier.. found them OK.. stuff takes quite a while to arrive , but otherwise no problems. Though I've heard a lot of rumours of counterfeit ICs from China, but in my opinion this is somewhat exaggerated. Hope this helps ?
  14. Hi. Does anyone know where I can find some V9990 VDP (video Chip) schematics for wirirng it up to VRAM etc.
  15. The idea was to design a professional (low cost) V9990 board that would plug into a Motherboard. A test Homebrew TMS9995 or TMS99105 motherboard would be used to evaluate the V9990 Video bard. The V9990 board would need to cost less than $50 ?? Though this my be difficult. The video board would be generic so it could be used with Z80 / MSX motherboard or any general microprocessor or microcontroller. This would give it greater appeal than the TMS99xx / Ti-99/4A market. and thus make it much more popular. Any ideas are much appreciated.
  16. The idea was to build a Generic V9990 board that could plug into a homebrew TMS9995 / TMS99105 Motherboard. Being Generic it would appeal to anyone wanting a 'Respectable' video board for their own homebrew projects. As the V9990s are still readily available for about $20 the board shouldn't be too expensive to produce. The big problem is using surface mount components. Any old schematics etc would be much appreciated. Thanks
  17. Hi. I'm looking at desiging a V9990 Board... something like the MSX GFX9000 ?? The idea is to design a small yet powerful Video PCB that could plug into a homebrew video card giving V9990 graphics to a VGA monitor ! The Video card would be 'Generic' allowing DIY/Homebrew builders vto use it in their own projects. Does anyone know which DRAMs are compatible with the V9990 .. ideally with full part numbers so I can check if they are still available. Also What ROM is compatible with the V9990 ?? ** Plus Which RAM/RAM goes with the YMF278B OPL4 PSG ?? Where can I find V9990 VDP Board schematics ?? Any help is much appreciated.. Thanks
