Thanks for all the great replies guys! It was aggravating that the built in editor wasn't really "what you see is what you get." The photoshop idea is pretty creative, but I don't have that right now so excited to give excel a shot! This will hopefully prevent some headaches.... thanks everyone!

The visual bB playfield designer worked great for standard kernel games, but I've been playing with DPC+ and it's a lot more difficult to use as the playfield sizes are much larger and the entire image won't fit on the screen while designing. Does anyone have any tips, tricks or experience for doing this? Or is the best plan to just type out periods and X's? Sorry, I'm a complete noob! Thanks for the help!

The Gizzle Wap and The Strange Red Tree (Final Version)
RiverRaider73 replied to Mountain King's topic in batari Basic
This is quite possibly the most visually beautiful homebrew I've ever seen. Those graphics are stunning -
The gameplay and graphics are pretty basic so it does get a little monotonous after a while, but it can get pretty exciting and addictive pretty fast. Label art is cool too, you should try distributing carts. You wouldn't have anything against throwing it into a harmony cart, right?

How do you homebrewers publish games?
RiverRaider73 replied to RiverRaider73's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
Completely agree with ya K. Michael, never really understood the mentality either. People almost act like it's dirty cheating or something -
Syntax error if I add anything, including comments
RiverRaider73 replied to RiverRaider73's topic in batari Basic
Perhaps re-installing would solve the issue? -
If I add anything, including a mere comment, I get syntax errors and my code won't compile. It doesn't make any sense at all. Anyone know what the problem is?

How do you homebrewers publish games?
RiverRaider73 replied to RiverRaider73's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
How do you notify publishers/vendors about your game? Do you have to submit it or pitch it or something? -
I've been lurking around AtariAge for a while and I've just been curious about the process 2600 homebrewers take in order to get their games published, burn onto cartridges, get cartridge art, boxes and manuals designed and printed, and actually get them selling on the AtariAge store or other outlets. Also, do you guys typically make your games in batari basic or actual assembly code? Just been wondering!
