My experience in the US is that... even when signature is required, they'll often just leave it outside. In the UK though that's less common (you'll normally get a card through your letterbox and a nice trip to the nearest sorting office).

The home-made boxes for AVP and Road Riot suggest might well be an AA user (hello Jay!)

I hope after 6 years he's found a copy...

This is great news. Really hoping the games are a continued success (selfishly, because I want more!).

Sounds interesting, keep us updated!

Yeah, this is definitely a game where you "learn" the levels. Which is fine until you get to the later ones, and you're trying to learn but each time you die you have to do it all again. And then maybe you lose a life or two stupidly early on and start over again . I got to the final stage on my own a few times, but it's got some really tricky parts. I ended up completing the final level via the emulator and save states. Not my preference, but I'm not 13 any more, I got things to do!

Ah k, shame. As I bought the game the last time around, but was hoping for an option to get just the pin to complete my collection.
-
Ooh. Are you doing pins only for Alpine Games? If so.. best way to order when getting E-jagfest etc? Thankx.

Hmm, will check that out. They had a weird Xbox controller with a display. I'm back at the show this afternoon, and they are right by our stage, so will take a peek.
-
Alas, I did not. I'm sure it's a "feature" somehow...

I'm the author of the Retron 77 report... he told me they were thinking around $80, but hadn't decided yet (so yes, it can change... but that's definitely what he said). I actually played it in 16:9... and their stand at the show lists "16:9" as a feature on the printed materials. Though he listed a number of modes to ensure authentic retro feel (black and white etc) so much of this is likely configurable, and original aspect ratio etc. And again... yes possibly subject to change. But the report is based on actual experience. The image didn't look terribly stretched, but not sure what method they are using for upscaling etc.

Hmm, they told me about $80 when I asked them earlier...

As above, this is a very common problem with the Lynx 1. To the point, I pretty much assume batteries will get stuck when I put them in. Usually, you can just loosen the two screws at the end where the batteries are jammed, and maybe give it a firm tap on that end, and normally they pop out.

Weirdly, I just discovered these exact ones the other day, too. For $8 it seems a pretty good deal. They say they will be making them for the Lynx 1 also.

Wikipedia also cites an AP article which says half a million/500k had been sold in 1990. That'd mean selling no more for the rest of it's lifespan. I'd trust the AP over that book any day. http://www.apnewsarchive.com/1991/Sega-Woos-Game-Boy-Lynx-Users-With-32-Color-Hand-Held-Video-System/id-a1288531efff2f9504f70dbcd9f8b6cc Though that means to reach 3 million, it would have meant it kept that pace through til 1995, which also seems unlikely.

By my read... we're just the pins away from Hanoi being ready? That right Der Luchs?
-
Well the release numbers at least suggest it's next...

Another option is to pick up a faulty Lynx on eBay for spares. You can pick em up for about $30 (I've bought a few recently). This is more expensive than just buying the door obviously, but if you get a decent one, you have a bunch of other spares you can mine from it. Alternatively, you can then resell the doorless Lynx back on eBay... which might save you some money, but would obviously cost you more time.
-
Basically this. I started off all innocent... "just gonna collect the official releases"... then got a bit obsessed. The problem is, it's impossible to get everything because there's always a level above, and it gets like an addiction.

I don't know if I've ever seen a regular (if you mean curved lip) Krazy Ace. I've seen green PCBs and black ones though...

Cheapest cart on eBay (also happens to be in NL) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Atari-Lynx-Bill-Teds-Excellent-Adventure-cartridge-only-/232307109567?hash=item3616952ebf:g:3esAAOSwo4pYeQ4v EDIT: Ah I read Holland and took it very literally. Try this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Super-Skweek-Complete-Atari-Lynx-1991-/222471156983?hash=item33cc5074f7:g:BrkAAOSw03lY7Sd4

Is it possible to add estimated release dates to all the games to the first post maybe? Save people like me constantly asking. If not.. when does Weltenschlacter/Yastuna go on sale

My understanding is that Monster Demolition is what eventually became Rampage. When Epyx was making demo games, but didn't yet have the IP license or some such. Am sure someone else can confirm, but a little more info here: http://www.chrismcovell.com/secret/OTH_1989Q3.html
