  1. Huh. Good to know. Perhaps I will attend this year.
  2. I work in Edison all the time... except from now until Thanksgiving, when I am on a special project in Philadelphia and can't get up there! If you can wait until after Thanksgiving I can likely help.
  3. You lucky bastard. Great find! I'd love to come across a disk drive without paying an arm and a leg for it. Also, Super Donkey Kong (the one on tape, I assume that is what you got).... man, that's one of the super data packs I'd really love to get my hands on! Wherever did you find all this stuff?
  4. Wow rockman... where were you that you found such a "productive" flea market? Your home or someplace you had travelled to for vacation? I love finding places like that, but I always have to drag my wife...
  5. Don't have a multi-meter, but it's possible one of my friends does. I'll look into it.
  6. So, only 5 months and the birth of my first child - a boy! - later, and I finally got around to ordering some fuses for this drive and... nothing. At least, not when i just flip the power switch. It isn't currently hooked up to the computer; I guess I'll try that, but unless you hear otherwise from me, it didn't work. So, I guess what I have is a bad power supply then? Blech.
  7. NIAD is one of the most amazingly informative posters of any message board I post on.
  8. So, the actual Super Game Pack as released does not have this level, correct?
  9. whoops - asked a question already answered in the thread!
  10. So I haven't had a chance to work on my drive... Turns out 1/4A, 250V slo blo fuses aren't regularly stocked in most hardware stores. Will have to go to ebay, then report back.
  11. The one pic with that focuses on the power supply unit you can see where I removed the fuse - left side of the picture, black bracket that looks like it should be holding something it isn't.
  12. Unfortunately, I have no way to test the power supply, and don't have another drive. As I said yesterday, I pulled the fuse, a 1/4A 250V slo blo fuse, went to Lowe's, and they had no replacements. Will have to look around. Here are some pix of the drive:
  13. A little late tonight but I will get some pix up tomorrow.
  14. Where would the jumpers be? I have the cover off but I don't see any jumpers.
  15. TRS-80 Color Computer Mini Disk 26-3029 I pulled the fuse, maybe that is blown. Doesn't look like it, but I guess I'll run to a hardware store and see about a replacement.
  16. I do get "Disk Extended Color Basic" as a start up. I am really unfamiliar with this system, but I will see if I can implement any/all of your suggestions. I did try the DIR, the computer stops, nothing appears to happen (I assume it is going through a routine to check for a drive), then I get an ?IO Error.
  17. So, I finally have everything together: the controller, the drive, the computer, and this ribbon cable, as recommended by Official Ninja: http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-inch-34-Pin-Card-Edge-IDC-5-25-Floppy-2-Drive-Cable-CablesOnline-FF-005-/270837819768?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0f312978 However, it does not appear to be working. Now, the disk drive I had failed to show any signs of life when I plugged it in, even before I ever got my controller, but someone on another forum said that CoCo disk drives would not show any signs of life until hooked up to the computer. I was suspicious, because I mean this thing made no noise, not even a low-level hum to indicate a current was present, and the light never came on, but I pursued it anyway. And even with everything hooked up, the disk drive is as dead as ever. The power light fails to comes on even now. So, any thoughts? Is my drive just dead? Is this the wrong ribbon cable? Have I somehow hooked it up incorrectly (I doubt it)? Any guidance would be appreciated!
  18. The tape, for the ADAM computer. Contact me if you have one to sell!
  19. Had a hard month, so I decided to take the plunge and overpay for a long-coveted cartridge: Q*Bert's Qubes. Really enjoying it.
  20. So, I acquired a controller, through a kind poster on another forum. Now, I just need the ribbon cable. Based on this post, I am wondering: will this work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/MFM-RLL-ESDI-drive-cable-set-New-old-stock-15-/131470161739?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e9c3b774b If not, anyone got an extra that would fit from a 3127 model CoCo2 using a 3029 model controller going to a 3029 model disk drive?
  21. Memorial Day weekend. Long enough before the event that I *could* attend in that my wife should be recovered enough by then, but then of course there is the question of the cost of a flight and hotel in Las Vegas for a solo trip that interests only me... Maybe if I get that new job. Maybe.
  22. Man I wish I could attend this. With a baby on the way, I don't think my wife will let me... would be a hell of a birthday present (I was born in late August)!
  23. Gamemoose, that is very kind of you! I guess we'll wait to see if killersquirrel finds his.
