  1. Here is an updated on the board design. All I have left to do really is place vias and run traces to the various pins on the connectors from the traces on the bottom and run traces for the switches. My idea is to run traces to the pins called for on the build of the ti994a-rom-grom-ram-and-floppy-emulator, then to let some additional vias pass through in case of some kind of upgrade.
  2. I' wanting to purchase some of these BQ4852 Cloc/Sram chips from Rochester Electronics for the IDE cards. There is a minium purchase requirement of 250.00. Is anyone else interested in buying a couple of these IC's at $50.88 + shipping cost if any, before I make a firm decision? PM me if interested.
  3. If you have a sidecar 32k tipi combo, then is your Sams a sidecar version too? If it is and it has the 44 pin connectors for the tipi, same as the 32k sidecar, then you unplug the 32k and put it out of the way and plug the sams in the same laocation with the tipi connected. make sure you have the jumpers configured the same as the 32k and you should be ready for what ever game you need that uses 32k or Sams. The Sams has the 32k built into it. Hope this helps. You may be able to sell the 32k to someone else.
  4. The left chips are just there for the reason that they were going to fulfill a purpose later when I redo the board to fit 2 FDC IC's and the buffer chips. When I finish this as a Corcomp 2793 FDC board they will be removed. But then I will move IC's, traces, and components around and will add these back into the footprint for the next board I will be designing. Hence the shape of the board as you see it. The regular CC 2793 board is a bit smaleer and different in shape to this one.
  5. I decided first to get the traces set up as a CC2793, so here is a view of that. I took scanned photo's that I had of the Corcomp FDC and converted them to BMP photos then placed that into the pcb as a background image then ran traces and via's according to what was seen. The photos were slightly skewed and would not align right with my work, but I ran them best I could to come close to the photos. This is the result and even it is not quite finished, but I'm getting there. Making it pretty will come soonafter I get the components in and ground and voltage planes in. Then when I have a completed version of the CC 2793 board then I will continue to move IC's around and add the other WD1773 ic footpint.
  6. The is a wav file to be loaded into Classic99 or JS99er or a real console. Here it is in a disk image. Space Battle.dsk
  7. If you read the second to last post on the Viditel Cartidge, Colin responded there to this subject.
  8. Okay understood I found the XC95144XL-TQ100C at digikey. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/amd/XC95144XL-10TQG100C/826975?utm_adgroup=&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Pmax_Shopping_Kemet_0399_Co-op&utm_term=&utm_content=&utm_id=go_cmp-21006314577_adg-_ad-__dev-c_ext-_prd-_sig-Cj0KCQjwqdqvBhCPARIsANrmZhOHR3GaadYE998GICi2Vajflpj1WPfkeLQtx-UaYjeO_khDJuGOQYcaAmk1EALw_wcB&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqdqvBhCPARIsANrmZhOHR3GaadYE998GICi2Vajflpj1WPfkeLQtx-UaYjeO_khDJuGOQYcaAmk1EALw_wcB
  9. @jedimatt42 would this CPLD from Mouser work? https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Xilinx/XC9572XL-7VQ64C?qs=rrS6PyfT74dWudUaG0Nmgg%3D%3D
  10. Yep, figured that last night. Not in a hurry as money is tight till I win my Workmans Comp case. But I will get a CLPD or may already have one. When I got the PI Zero, I didn't get the pinout and misread online which end was which.
  11. No, it doesn't work. One of these days I'll delve into it. The case looks great except for staining from some kind of leakage in the past, that seems to have had an acidic element to it. Maybe it went inside and damaged somthing too.
  12. @jedimatt42 I executed this command and got this result. It just hung at the ./tipi.sh script command. sudo systemctl stop tipi.service cd /home/tipi/tipi/services ./tipi.sh ./tipi.sh I just ran the command sudo /home/tipi/tipi/setup/post-upgrade.sh and it did some upgrade, but no joy. Does the TIPICFG files have to be mounted into DSK1? Just tried it, no worky. I'll assume that the CLPD is dead. Thanks.
  13. @jedimatt42 Used the next command tipi@tipi:~ $ sudo systemctl status 'tipi*' ● tipisuper.service - TIPI Super User Service Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/tipisuper.service; enabled; vendor pre> Active: active (running) since Fri 2023-06-23 17:53:37 PDT; 8 months 23 da> Main PID: 348 (tipisuper.sh) Tasks: 2 (limit: 415) CPU: 1.545s CGroup: /system.slice/tipisuper.service ├─348 /bin/bash /home/tipi/tipi/services/tipisuper.sh └─364 python ./TipiSuper.py Jun 23 17:53:37 tipi systemd[1]: Started TIPI Super User Service. ● tipiwatchdog.service - TI-99/4A DSR RESET Service Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/tipiwatchdog.service; enabled; vendor > Active: active (running) since Fri 2023-06-23 17:53:37 PDT; 8 months 23 da> Main PID: 351 (tipiwatchdog.sh) Tasks: 2 (limit: 415) CPU: 674ms CGroup: /system.slice/tipiwatchdog.service ├─351 /bin/bash /home/tipi/tipi/services/tipiwatchdog.sh └─368 python ./TipiWatchDogService.py Jun 23 17:53:37 tipi systemd[1]: Started TI-99/4A DSR RESET Service. lines 1-23
  14. @jedimatt42 I reflashed taking my name out of the equation and I can access the PI thru tipi:9600, but when I ssh into the Pi it is asking for a password for user tipi? Just found that the password was tipi too. Sorry deamon.log now states: " tipi@tipi:~ $ sudo tail -F /var/log/daemon.log Mar 16 21:52:01 tipi systemd[787]: Listening on GnuPG cryptographic agent and passphrase cache (access for web browsers). 15. running the first command after sshing into it I get this log info, but it just continues till I stopped it. Is it looking for the user tipi and instead I'm pushing it ricky@tipi? "unter is at 1965. Mar 16 21:23:17 tipi systemd[1]: Stopped TI-99/4A DSR Service. Mar 16 21:23:17 tipi systemd[1]: Started TI-99/4A DSR Service. 16. Pins on the PI Zero or the TIPI? I've never used one before. I just ssh into the PI with PuTTY. am going to try some of Jedimatt's stuff here. My bad you're asking Jedimatt that question. Sorry
  17. I just reflashed the SD card using Balena Etcher instead and it still locks at the call tipi. Tomorrow I'm going to attempt to reprogram the CLPD with a PI 4B and see if that fixes it. If not then I'll see about ordering a CLPD somewhere and replace it. I actually may have 1 or two around here, as I was contemplating building the PEB version of TIPI. I just tried browsing into http://tipi:9900 and getting an error, so I'll go ahead and reflash nthe SD as originally done so at least I can get access to the PI Zero. Thanks
  18. I'm going to ask this question. When I use the Raspberry PI imager to copy the buster image to the sd car, it ask if I want to change settings, So I do and go into the screen and add my wifi info then go out and I can then burn the image. Is the TIPI waiting and can't go further because I added that info? or should I have just copied the image then used call tipi and change it there? Maybe that's why it's hanging?
  19. I would suggest that if this is still about using the cartridge in Mame, that it be continued in the Mame thread:
  20. I'm afraid to ask but need to. I purchased a sidecar tipi last year off ebay, then I purchased the sidecar Sams from arcadeshopper a couple of months later and a pi zero w after that. I think I hooked up the wrong end of the PI zero to the tipi, misunderstanding which side pin 40 was on. Long story short I can power the Pi and see it on the network, access it. I can run any of the memory test program's on the SAMS and all is fine. When I try to CALL TIPI, it just hangs there forever and I never see a TIPI name on the title screen. The led does light though. Did I kill my sidecar TIPI? If so is it just a matter of trying to burn the CLPD again, or replacing it. I never smelt any magic smoke nor do I see any obvious damage to the chip.
  21. Many carts were designed to use the 32k expansion, such as the EA cart, originally there was a side car 32k unit made by TI, then the PEB box version, now we have a multitude of options for 32k.
  22. I don't use self checkout, anywhere, except the gas station.
  23. You're right, when I go into the same page with Firefox, I get a complete picture. Something is going on with Chrome?
  24. @Stuart When I go to the thumbnails and try clicking on this picture, my photo is as far as it loads, unsure of any others. I am interested in looking at the disk controllers. In fact all the disk controllers load that far and no more for me.
  25. Yea, it's just weird that it just started yesterday. I've been saving this information about the PI Pico for instance, placing all the webpages as html only, and the files that Jason has been providing into a folder naming his zip files in the order they've been showing up on each page. This is so that eventually I could upload it as a package for anyone to be able to go to the page for a particular file and see what speed Jason stated it would run at or do. The virus is still showing up even after deleting everything in the download folder and re-downloading the pages again. It's only doing it on Atariage pages too. As a side note, if I download these pages as a complete webpage, not HTML only, I don't get the virus hits, even when running Windows Defender on the download folder after downloading. Nada.
