  1. Me too... one of my joysticks stopped going right .. I think you can buy a repair kit at http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/.
  2. Supercade is really cool, I think. Many cool photos and covers a huge amount of arcade and home games.
  3. No - it's actually my mistake ... It came with an extra stick - and I thought that meant it was detach ... but, it's not. The extra you have to plug in internally it looks like. I should have asked a ques. to seller, but I came acrosss it near the end of the auction so I just bid and won it. Anyway, I'm happy with it. I just never had one of these before, so I still don't know what end's up!! Thanks for all the help.
  4. Yea, it's fine. It was still a good deal, so I'm not worried.
  5. Just got what was SUPPOSED to be a detach model O2 off e-bay.... It looks to me just like an attatched ... Shouldn't there be external joystick ports on these? Sorry for the dumb ques - I'm only familiar w/the attached kind...
  6. Cool, I love this kind of stuff!
  7. Thanks everyone for the replies! Contacted the seller, he was cool and gave me 1/2 price. Then, I downloaded the manual and printed it out - all is well!!
  8. Ah, the warm glow of nostalgia! I remember playing my electronic "Digital Derby" (anyone remember that?) and my brother came home from a friend's house and ridiculed my mechanical video game! He described this great game he had been playing (Grand Prix) on his friend's Atari. When Christmas rolled around that year, I got my Atari. I remember setting it up on a black and white 12 inch TV (pretty ghetto, I know, but my parent's didn't see the value of color TV!) and playing Defender for weeks on end!! What are your first Atari 2600 memories?
  9. Yup, it IS a great game! Kind of a Q-bert/Frogger combo. I haven't played it for awhile - I need to break it out again.
  10. Self promotion or not - I just got Backfire, I LIKE IT!
  11. Megamania is an all time favorite !!
  12. Go to the AtariAge home page and just search for whatever game you want.... You'll go to a screen which tells you rarity etc. and you can click on a link for instructions . Pretty good finds for 50 cents!
  13. I'm so pissed .. . I won a "computer intro" w/manual from ebay for a good price, it arrived WITHOUT manual. Am I wrong in thinking I'll really need the manual for this one? Also, I'm pretty new to the Odyssey - how difficult is it to find a copy w/manual??
  14. One last plea for why nudging should be in a pinball game. Nudging is probably not what pinball makers had in mind. But, it has become part of the game by many great players. IF you nudge, you risk the consequence of losing your ball. Fouling in hockey is DEFINITELY against the rules. Still, it is very much a part of the real game, and I would expect it in a video game version. Like nudging, fouling may be a dirty way to play, and you risk the consequence of your actions. Also, bear in mind that pinball machine makers mostly want your quarters! Naturally they want to discourage you from turning the odds in your favor - to me, this is sort of like a casino banning card counters. One last thing about Midnight Magic, I used to have it on my computer too - couldn't you nudge in this version?
  15. Just got an O2 from E-bay. Tested a couple of games - and both joysticks - all seems to be well! Questions: what's the best cart to use to test the keyboard (or is there another way?) It is an attached joystick model BUT it came with an extra one (new!). In the event of problems, is a joystick change easy? It's FILTHY ... any cleaning tips? What games do I NEED to get? are there any good websites? and any other helpful info. appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.
  16. Some 20th century fox are pretty good - attack killer tomatoes, Alien etc. And don't count out Coleco altogether - Mousetrap, Frontline and Mr Do are all pretty cool.
  17. I'd like to own Bumper Bash and try it for real - but it's a rarity 9 ... so... it may be a while , but I'll look. I would love to see Midnight Magic hacked (or probably this would require re-programming?) so that you could nudge. IF you could do this, I think it would make a good game really great. I do agree that the squareness of Video Pin is ridiculous - but (as in real pinball) at least you have a chance to save a ball thats heading for the drain !
  18. YES! Mad Planets - thanks.
  19. So, is it Video Pinball, Midnight Magic, or Bumper Bash? I don't own Bumper Bash, but on the emulator it's pretty good... So is Midnight Magic, BUT .... neither let you nudge WHY oh why?? If not for this, I might feel differently. But, as it is - Vid. Pinball (game 3) gets my vote! Also, if any homebrewers are listening, I would LOVE a really good Pinball or Golf game.
  20. Is it just me, or is the flamethrower 100% useless? Whenever I use it, the BEST that happens is the alien turns around for a second... hmmm... maybe I'm missing something?

This is a very cool game!... I especially like the surface to air shots at the motherships you can make while on the planets. Also, there's a lot to do compared to a lot of other games : rescue astronauts, shoot stuff (of course!) and filling up your ship with guys gives you a chance to warp off the planet for bonus - COOL! Who else likes this game? Also, the screen where you're trying to dock with planets reminds me of an old arcade game where planets are circling around you and you have to shoot them.... Anyone remember this one's name?
  22. Me too! I just checked out the past isssues - these are great.
  23. Anyone know if this is still available anywhere? Just wondering, why are hacks and homebrews available for only a short time? I saw Berserk w/voice on Atariage a couple months ago, and now I can't find it. I assume the more popular games stay in production longer? If the games are only available for a short period, I've got some buying to do... Let's see... Backfire, Mini golf +, ...
