  1. Congrats to all involved This is an excellent thread, so let's keep it up!
  2. The best donation I've ever received was this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zN5AakqG1NE Yeah Rich I'm a hardcore snob haha. I wouldn't have bought this myself, but hey it was donated so why not right? I'm much more of an authentic arcade player myself. I will try my darnest to stay objective, and I'll be comparing CPS2 and 3 games to this, as well as few Neo games like Metal Slug. My objective is essentially to say if it's worth the price of admission for those who own a SuperGun or cabinet.
  3. Awesome stuff there Rich. I had a DHL package arrive today, and it was a donation, which is always a pleasant surprise. This will be interesting to review, as I'll be able to compare my MVS games to this emulation box and see how it holds up, as well as try some CPS2 and CPS3 games and see how they hold up. I personally haven't tried any emulation multicades like this before, so this will prove to be most interesting. How is the Elf?
  4. Good job Reaperman, who needs fat wallets haha. I'm with you on Art of Fighting 3, beautiful looking game, but the soundtrack never appealed to me. Let us know about the sound when your copy of KOF arrives.
  5. If you're going to do PGM2, do it right! (Referring to the SNK game you see in the mobo) I wanted to grab Knights of Valour 3, and DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Tamashii, but haven't had the chance yet.
  6. Thanks Anthony I hope you guys enjoy the reviews I have to provide for your viewing pleasure over the coming weeks. I cover all 5 of the SNKP released games, and let me say right now, they're super fun
  7. Yeah a few. Negotiations are still on-going. Meanwhile I'm negotiating a PGM board with 16 games. If this all pans out that would be 30 potential reviews, and hours upon hours of great times ahead Meanwhile my Atomiswave reviews are coming along nicely. I just put the finishing touches on Neo Geo Battle Coliseum. I always found that game to be SNK's version of Smash. So much fan service in that one.
  8. I think the Atomiswave would have been more successful had Sammy and SEGA not merged. Once they merged in 2004, one year after the Atlmiswave launched, I knew the platform was done. I mean let's be honest here, why the heck would the conglomerate want to stick with the Atomiswave when SEGA offered significantly more powerful and popular arcade hardware. Personally the only arcade system I own that's consolized is the Neo. Everything else I use my SuperGun with. I've got a complete CPS-III set, a bunch of CPS-II games, Atomiswave, two one-slot MVS systems, and the PGM series. That doesn't include the PCBs either
  9. Great idea. I'm super busy, but I know more than a few people here would love to contribute I like your idea for online too. I love videos like this that show the importance of taking care of your vintage videogames. New collectors can learn from these instructional videos In somewhat related news, I've officially scheduled my first Atomiswave videos, and have started negotiating for a bundle of 14 Neo Geo games. Mwa ha ha. 2016 is shaping up to be one hell of an awesome arcade-related year!
  10. Oh today was a great day. I tested my second Atomiswave board, yes I have two Atomiswave boards haha, and guess what, the diodes are shot on my first unit, but not my second. That means I'm all set Today after I tested the two boards out, I had just enough time to play through Demolish Fist and Dolphin Blue. So that means it's on! You can count on 8 Atomiswave reviews before I jump back to the Neo. I've put up a request on the Neo forums asking if anyone is selling a few of the remaining Atomiswave games I'm interested in, and next week I'll be making my "Looking for" thread for Neo games. I'm going to aim for a bundle deal of 10 games. That would give us quite a few more reviews
  11. Happy New Year everyone. This morning I finally got around to testing out my glorious Atomiswave with the Toro VGA box, which allows me to take the VGA signal and pass it through SCART, therefore through my XRGB-Mini Anyways, it all worked perfectly well until I tried to play a game. I'll have to find out what's going on with my Jamma Nation X SuperGun as the input/output is all screwed up. Only button 2 and 4 register, the rest aren't responding. So that's quite unfortunate. I'll update once I have some info back from James from JNX.
  12. Sure thing I tried to connect the Atomiswave today, and I'm missing a male-to-female VGA connector. Grr. So I just ordered one, and will hopefully have everything I need by next week to try it out. Once I know it works, I'll have 8 weeks of Atomiswave games, and that gives me two months to score more Neo games. That shouldn't be too hard so long as people are willing to part with their goods
  13. Maybe sometime this week I'll have the time to set everything up and let you know. If I can't record footage from it, then I'll have no choice but to revert back to my original plan and tackle some TurboGrafx-16/PC-Engine games while I wait for some new Neo Geo games to arrive
  14. Since I own all of the SNKP released games, you can surely count on it I think that's exactly what I'll do. I still have to mess around with the Atomiswave to ensure I can actually capture footage from it, but if I can, then giddy up, you'll know what to expect for after the 13th, and then it'll be right back to the Neo
  15. Hmm on second thought, I do have those Atomiswave games sitting around doing nothing. Maybe 8 reviews of those would tide people over until the next Neo wave
  16. Thanks Anthony. Well guys my Neo content will be wrapping up on January 13th. I started on November 11th and continued through to the 13th of January, meaning we had 10 Neo Geo reviews back-to-back I'll be switching to the TurboGrafx-16/PC-Engine for the next few weeks while I get my hands on some more Neo Geo games I can only review the games I have after all, and while I do have some more, I want to save those for the next batch of Neo games I review. With any luck by mid-February I should be back in action with more Neo Geo reviews I'll be sure to stick around the forums and continue to chat with you all. It's been fun reviewing these Neo Geo games, and I hope I can get another batch soon, but it really depends on the community as I always buy my games from them to help support the community
  17. My goodness, has it been 20 years already? It's incredible how time flies. I just wanted to pop in here and say Happy Holidays everyone!
  18. If any of you Neo fans have any titles you're looking to part with, shoot me a message because I'm currently looking for a few more games to keep the reviews coming into February. Currently I have reviews queued until January 20th, but I would really like to cover a few more. Thanks for the kind words Anthony PS - Crossed Swords II hit my #5 on my top games of 2015. So huge congrats goes out to Raz and NeoBitz.
  19. Thanks Anthony. I've been getting people to purchase Crossed Swords 2 so it makes me feel great if I can introduce others to the indie and homebrew scene on the Neo In January I'm going to post a thread on the official Neo forums asking for any Neo game people are willing to sell and want to see a video of
  20. Nice list Anthony. The one thing that I wish all NG: Dev Team games had is multiplayer. Man it would be awesome to have played some of these shooters with a co-op partner. I'm very excited to experience Kraut Buster with my friends. That's going to rock! 2016 is going to be one wild year. Not only will we get our hands on Kraut Buster, but we'll find out more info on the new arcade hardware, and chances are we'll also find out what's next from NeoBitz too. That's all sorts of awesome!
  21. If I can make it, I'll be glad to come along Question for you Anthony, if you had to rank the NG: Dev Team games in order of 1 to 5, with 1 being your favorite, and 5 your least, how would you rank their five games?
  22. So long as they make a new game in a different genre every other year I'm perfectly cool with that. Getting a new Neo game every year is pretty bad ass as is, but knowing that you're going to get a quality shooter plus a different genre the following year is perfect. I think they can only do so much about the people making unofficial copies of their games considering the size of their operation. As for Twitch and the like, yup I know all about them, my problem is time.
  23. From what they've said in the past next year's game is a straight up shmup. They said it's from the same team that did Fast Striker and Razion. They have two distinct teams now, with a third starting up. So that Ikari Warriors game will be in 2017 most likely. I would also purchase Last Hope if they ever released it, to go along with Last Hope: Pink Bullets. I hate that people are making unofficial ones, but it's really no surprise. Their games are always super limited.
  24. Yeah Anthony I'm VERY happy right now my man. All I'm missing is Razion and Fast Striker and I'm good to go. I'm sure they'll be available for pre-order this time next year, and during the summer we'll have the pre-order up for their next shooter. They also updated their Facebook page informing me that they may go through a Japanese publisher in order to release their new arcade hardware next year, which is quite interesting as it won't be sold directly through NG: Dev Team. They said it's unlikely, but that it was a posibility.
  25. Today's the day... That means I'm now 4 for 6. Next year I'll do exactly like I did this year, purchase their new game, plus the two reprints
