  1. Although I have left him positive feedback in the marketplace feedback area, I would like to offer the longer version here: Yurkie was able to bring my non-working ColecoVision back to fully operational condition again. As many have said before me, the system works better than when it was new. If anyone every thought they needed a power switch mod, then they need to see a properly serviced system from Yurkie. With proper use, I could see this switch lasting the rest of my life and continue working when I pass this treasure on to one of my heirs. I only had the basic composite AV mod, but it looks so much better without the RF interference and the colors and graphics are so solid now. Also, playing with the ball knob controllers, is such a delight. You wonder why Coleco did not include these back in 1982. Please note, each system he obtains has its own unique issues and the final result is a true one of a kind product. This is not something mass produced in some far off Pacific Rim sweatshop which is then quickly expressed out of some Amazon fulfillment center. Yurkie is a gifted individual who does have a life outside of providing this wonderful service. Be patient and please permit him time to work his magic. After experiencing my new system firsthand, I now understand why some people like to say they are part of the YurkieVision brotherhood. A select community lucky enough to be blessed by his time and services, thank you Yurkie!
  2. More positive feedback being left for Yurkie. Sent him my childhood ColecoVision for repair, refurbishing and a light mod (composite AV). Everything works again and is improved with the more up-to-date hook up. Also, the ball stick contollers work so much better than the stock ones. Thank you Yurkie!!
  3. Thundar The Barbarian where you can also select to play as Princess Ariel or Ookla The Mock. I see this as a sort of action RPG romp or perhaps a cross pollination of Golden Axe and Rygar. Laff-A-Lympics MUST feature Grape Ape! He was always my boy.
  4. Mine had a very similar issue except Mario went left. Same thing where it skipped the level select screen. According to Yurkie, the controller chip inside needed replaced. I would bet yours has the same issue unfortunately.
  5. I have been going to the exchange for very long time around the Pittsburgh area. They used to be more bargain friendly but now expect to pay eBay or greater prices except when you are trading in where they don't give you much at all. From my experience those stickers do not come off very easily. Even for just a game in DVD case expect a 10 minute workout with Goo Gone and elbow grease. Still a nice resource to have if you need a controller or cable or something and they let you bring stuff back if it does not work. Good for buying a SNES or something where you really want to see it in person to see how yellowed it is.
  6. I did read the entire wall of text. Glad you are back into it again. I think some of us have drifted out of gaming only to realize that it was a mistake and come back with a newfound appreciation for things. I too got interested in CV again from the flashback but refused to buy it as I needed the real thing again. Impressive collection of coin-ops man! That would rival some of the best arcades I can remember from back in the day.
  7. Got one about 3 weeks after launch, still have it, still worked when I put it back in the box when I got a launch PS2. Mine came with a demo disc with one playable level of ESPN Exteme games, Battle Arena Toshinden and the like. Although I had a Saturn at launch a few months earlier, the original Playstation was truly next-gen coming off off the 2D era. The initial launch window blew me away: Jumping Flash, Warhawk, Wipeout, Destruction Derby, Ridge Racer, Krazy Ivan, NFL Gameday, NHL Faceoff, Philosoma, Raiden Project. Everything from the lineup of games nailing each genere to the quality and feel of the system and peripherals made you feel that you were a part of something special that was not possible before. When you experienced this magic firsthand you tend to not get as excited during subsequent console generational transitions. The closest one for me was when gaming went into the HD era but it had a much smaller impact. Sadly I didn't get much wow factor when the current systems (PS4, etc) came out and I am still not onboard yet.
  8. Is the NX going to be that system that supposedly promises new realms of interactive entertainment with a physical fitness vibe? Something not geared towards regular console gamers but the so-called casual crowd. Heart rate monitors, activity sensors and all that sort of stuff. Or is that the next handheld I am thinking of and the the NX will be a proper next-gen console offering with all the horsepower to compete with PS4/XB1 and also be able to receive adequate third party support? Or am I completely off base here?
  9. MUSHA, Genesis. I don't see myself ever wanting to pay triple digits for a loose cart or 300-400 complete. Who the hell knows if it will even be a legit copy? I would rather pay 20-30 for a reproduction copy or play it on the Virtual Console.
  10. Splash Wave (Euro Remix) - Xbox Edit- you said just the three main tunes, then regular Splash Wave then
  11. Mr. Turtle, Tunnel and trolls, Skiing, Horse racing, Smurfette's birthday, etc. Can someone more enlightened than me please explain if these were really in development or if Coleco never had any intentions of releasing them. I remember seeing the Skiing and totally wanted that one.
  12. Yurkie, Thank you for taking on my order, I sent my console out to you this morning and sent you a PM with the details.
  13. I agree with Tron Unit. Back when it was out, an Intellivision adapter would have been cool, but not now. No no need to put wear and tear on a working CV in this day using an adapter. However if you had the Atari one back then and want to recreate that now I understand to a point. When Coleco came out, I sold my original Atari and put it torwards the new system as it was so much better at the time that I had a hard time playing the "old" system.
  14. Frogger is pretty much spot on. I think it was the last game released to the system.
  15. Those little RF coax adapters are really nice. Wish they would have had them back in the day.
