  1. Ha! Me too. I ordered within the hour and was surprised it was in stock for so long.
  2. How did you get it in a different shell? Edit: Never mind; you have to contact them to get different colors. Well, I guess I know where I'll be ordering SF2!
  3. I only started looking into MSU-1 games last week and after watching a bunch of videos I kept getting more and more disinterested with each video I watched. The music was way too powerful for the game; not to sound mean, but some of them just didn't fit the aesthetic of the game. It's a neat idea and hopefully will be implemented better, but I haven't come across any games that sounded better with Redbook audio. That racing game was neat, though. I may still order an SD2SNES however, but I'm holding out for now in case there's an "official" jailbreak once kevtris works out all the bugs in the main firmware. I'm content with playing the games I already own.
  4. In regards to open hardware, doesn't Richard Stallman, the biggest proponent of open software, advocate for closed hardware because it's at the cost of the manufacturer, et al.? As for scalers, I found the reason I kept switching back and forth with HQ 2X and Scalers Off is that the HQ 2X added some really nice softness and boosted the colors beautifully--made the colors nicely saturated. Not too much; not too little. But with the smudging of some outlines, I decided to go back with Scalers off. The flashing in Super Mario World's Cookie Mountain level still happens, and I messed with all the video settings. The water sub-area in that level flashes when you move across the screen. Not sure if that's supposed to happen.
  5. I was toying with scalers last night and liked HQ 2X a lot with Normal scanlines at 200. But after an hour I switched back. The HQ 2X helped give it that same warm look for 1080p with scanlines that 720p by default did, but it made text look weird so I switched back to no scalers. All the other scalers smoothed the pixels too much. With scanlines on, what do people adjust the gamma to? I just have them all at default 1.00.
  6. Update: My console reboots itself only after unplugging and replugging back in the 8bitdo Retro Receiver, and only after replugging it. It'll restart the game and won't go back to the system menu, so it's a soft reset. This happens only with the Retro Receiver, and only with the included cable from Analogue. I've tested with my wired original SNES controller and the asciiPad and both are fine unplugging and replugging while the game is on. After I swapped out the cable for another micro USB cable the issue didn't occur, so it must be the cable from Analogue. Probably doesn't give enough juice when the Retro Receiver is plugged back in. Not sure if this is just me or happening to other people, but nbd as I don't foresee myself doing this again besides just testing out the used controllers I had.
  7. Ah, okay. I'll double-check tonight. So far I've been playing SMW almost exclusively (never finished it and I want to now), and I'm pretty sure it's been happening with that game most, if not all, the time. Noticed it when I had the 8bitdo controller plugged in, then toyed with the other controllers. I'll post later when I've tried it with the game running, the various controllers I have, and a change of the power cable.
  8. Wait, I thought others were reporting this, no? That's why I chimed in. I thought it was a failsafe to prevent damaging the console. No, but I can tonight or tomorrow.
  9. The power plug and USB cable it came with. It's not a big deal for me. The only time it became inconvenient is when I bought a couple of used controllers and kept swapping them out to test for any defects. Otherwise, I just now remember to shut it off before unplugging any controllers. The only big issue I see with it is kids tugging at the cables, but I'm sure we're all playing these out of harm's way.
  10. Mine shuts off when unplugging a controller, whether original or third-party. No biggie; I just remember to shut it off before unplugging.
  11. Oh, I wonder if it is gone, then. Yeah, I figured not many would notice since most people don't seem to use it, but I did and couldn't find it. Here is a picture of what my settings show (shared on NintendoAge too but this thread seems a lot more active):
  12. In SMW I noticed that the water area in Cookie Mountain flashes. Did it always do that? The water flashes when I move to the pipe to the left.
  13. Huh, weird. Doesn't seem to show for me. The only toggle under Menu Options is Dim.Does it show up for everyone else? I will try and reinstall the latest firmware tomorrow evening. Forgot my SD card adapter at work. No worries, though. Everything else I used is there and I've gotten used to the default.
  14. Thanks for all your hard work, kevtris. I've encountered one major issue: my school studies have taken the back seat ever since I got this. Same issue I had with the Nt mini. D: Also, will the menu bounce come back? I seem to be the only person who used it.
  15. When I turn on Limited RGB it's like a gray filter goes over the entire screen. A very noticeable difference.
  16. I thought that too. I thought 4k displays should have no noticeable lag with 720p, but it was more than evident on my play. I had to switch back to 1080p halfway through a level in SMW.
  17. After testing both last night, I've resorted to sticking to 1080p. My TV does an okay job of not making them seem as jarring, but the 720p blended the lines too close to even notice them much, even with the depth set to max. The default 4:3 for 16:9 for 1080p also filled the screen beautifully. Plus, that lag was just unforgivable. So I'm sticking to 1080p and just take my glasses off to get that blurred look! For reference, I have the Samsung 55" Series 6 MU6300.
  18. Oh, yeah, I know. Thanks, though! Both with shipping will be around $50, which is not bad. Not much less than the full FDS, but more stable as I don't have to worry about finicky disks or belts.
  19. Okay, thanks! I knew he didn't implement it before but wasn't sure if that's changed. I may go the route of the FDSStick.
  20. For the Nt mini, the jailbreak doesn't support FDS games, correct? My only options to play FDS games on the Nt mini are: full FDS setup, FDSStick, or EverDrive--yes?
  21. The menu bounce is gone! I loved that feature! Also, the Width and Feature don't have the default screen settings in parenthesis when having Advanced Mode toggled on. I often found myself checking Width and Height to make sure I have it on 4:3 for 16:9 since I have Advanced Mode on. Edit: Okay, looks like it happens but, like before, I have to sometimes fiddle with toggling Advance Mode off/on to make my Video settings pop up correctly. As for other things, should I mess with anything for gamma when turning on scanlines at 1080p? I have them all locked at 1.00 for now. Wasn't sure if I should move any of them. I have Limited RGB off in Scalers as my Samsung 4k seems to have perfect blacks with full RGB. I've been playing with 1080p but now I can't decide whether to keep going with that or switch to 720p; 720p seems to have the correct scanline separation on my screen now, whereas it didn't before.
  22. Nah, dude. The SP is awful thanks to the buttons. Best way is to rip the screen out of them and swap 'em into the AGB-001. Or get the BennVenn GBC kit. I would like to know as well. I've been using Normal Scanlines set to 200 with Gamma Boost turned off. I've heard of people wanting the best playing experience possible, but dude... Do agree with you on the Hori Game Boy Controller, though. Yeah, the best way to play on the big screen is the Nt mini. The games look amazing and I've noticed no lag.
  23. Thank you, kevtris!!! https://tcrf.net/Super_Game_Boy#Added_Features
  24. I hope it's called something else! I've always associated the "Nt" with "Nintendo," and thought that's where the name comes from. Maybe Analogue NG? But yeah, I'm on the boat too. I've heard great things about kevtris before owning the Nt mini and Super Nt, but these two products have convinced me that I need everything he cranks out.
