To the people who have expressed interest in this project of Papa's:
He really appreciates your support! He has been going through a lot which is difficult to explain so that the true magnitude cannot be easily understood or felt. He has not given up on Street Fight World, or his other works, and is hoping to be able to refocus on them soon.
If you are interested in how he is doing, you can check him out on instagram (silfeather_opa) or on Reverb Nation (www.reverbnation/megamaiden), where he has a blog that is more light-hearted and akin to his nature. Some of his music is there now, but there will be more coming, including songs he would like to put into his games.
Thank you, again, for those of you who are interested!

Sorry to zombify this, but @Papa, is this still in development? I hope so, as this is a very cool looking project.
Unless I'm mistaken, I believe Papa is currently banned (at least according to his profile group status) so not sure if you're going to see an update in this thread.
I'd like to see some update on this as well it was looking great.

I appreciate your positive comments! Papa and I were just talking about this earlier this evening. He has lots of projects in the works, many of which are on pause. He has repeatedly gotten his heart broken, so these projects have not been recently a focus of his attention. It doesn't help when someone says he will look at his games but then never gets back with him.
Street Fight World is not far from being complete, but where it goes from here is unknown.

I just looked at this thinking it was a new topic instead of last year's, but I voted anyways...Although I liked Super Pac (Wait does that sound political? haha) in the arcades, my friend has a Baby Pac-Man cabinet in his house and it was always a blast so that's what I went with...
Is that the half-pinball-half-video-game machine that Papa said he played when he was younger?

On a side note, it's really nice to see everybody's CRTs!
(which Papa just called See R Tease, lol)

BONUS: I have a couple of games I would like to make for homebrew Atari 2600 (and hopefully, I WILL, eventually!). I would like to make a shaving game where you shave various body parts for different levels of difficulty: legs, armpits, back, arms, mustache, monobrow, face, head, nether regions, etc. Hair will grow constantly, too, just at different speeds, or not at all (for beginning levels). There would be a secret ending for the beard level, where if you just leave it alone, and let it grow full on, you automatically win as NATURAL MAN, lol. And I just gave away the secret.
The other game I want to make is tentatively called "Parasite Hunter" where you shrink down really little and go inside bodies to destroy the parasites from within! I would like for this one to be somewhat realistic and educational, where the parasites you kill are based on real parasites living creatures can get, and you kill them with methods that are really used to eradicate them. Candida yeast infections making bloated bellies on people can be fought, too! Just hero work on a miniaturized level. Different animals and people could be levels (such as the snails that crawl to the tops of trees with their parasite-ridden eyestalks acting as beacons to flying birds, crying out "EAT ME! EAT ME!") , as well as different locations (like sheep flukes in human hearts, tape worms in the intestines, the aforementioned candida, etc.).
As a side project, I would reprogram Chase the Chuckwagon to NOT restart the timer of paralyzation every time Chuckie is stunned to allow for less frustrating gameplay. :-)

I'll stick to playing other games for the rest of the weekend so if you're able to beat my score then victory is all yours.

I appreciate it! I tried to take advantage of this, but to no avail, ha ha! I could not increase my score at all on Chase, but I realized two things while trying: 1) The little dog resembles those magnet scottie dog toys my sister had when we were kids, and 2) It's probably the cutest animation of a dog I've ever seen. So, since I wasn't connecting well with that game, I focused on Crystal Castles and improved my score there!
Congratulations on your great score and I wish you swift recovery. :-)

Bonus game time! Maybe I'm just easily amused by any video game that lets you play as a dog, but I actually thought that Chase the Chuckwagon was a lot of fun.

Chase the Chuckwagon (B/B Difficulty, Default Settings): 1,966

Errrrgh! Lol. Here I was, so happy with my second place score on the bonus game...and THEN! Here comes Jin!

(Papa said the high score was from the freshly exorcised thyroid demons... :-) )
Anyway, I will try again, but very nice job! I liked this game way better than Crystal Castles, and have never even played them before this week (to be honest, I have only played three handsful or so of Atari games, lol).

I know who a certain hero is even with his mask on.

I LOVE CHASE THE CHUCKWAGON!!!

I read terrible reviews of it and it hasn't seemed to have gone over that well, here, either...but I was mad at it at first because of those goofy falling dishes and I couldn't figure out what to do, so I'm pounding the button and Chuckie just walked and looked down at the dishes that fell. Good grief!
It helped to look up the directions! lol
It is a bit frustrating when you get in JUST the right position to keep getting stunned so you're stuck til you DIE. But, other than that, I thought it was way fun!
If I post a score now, can I repost if I get a higher score?
Thanks!

Do I get to be on the main list yet?
NVM--I just saw me on the new list! At my favorite number, no less!

Okay, I re-read the instructions for the bonus...since it specifies favorite cartoon, and anime has been cleared for take off, I would like to change my fav (if it's okay!) to...
Gurren Lagann!
Now, please keep in mind, I have only seen Season 2, but it is my favorite because it has a giant robot powered by WILL and teamwork. And because it is about self-becoming (and has pretty girls). And it made me cry and cry and cry, so I love it!
Also, people, as a group, make a decision because they feel it is the right thing to do, but do they know the whole story, and is it the right thing to have done?

I feel really stupid but I can't even leap over the first fence in Smurf Rescue. Is there a trick to it?
I just had the same problem. Papa (smurf) helped me figure it out, though. You've got to do a superjump thing. Up up. Try working with that.

I hope it's okay to just jump in to the high score contest! I'm not good enough to win, anyway, and just play for fun.
For the bonus, I had trouble choosing my favorite classic cartoon. Someone said anime didn't count...and I was going to choose Voltron, so now I've got to choose between Fat Albert and Scooby Doo. I'll probably go with Scooby Doo, and I liked it because of the music and it was somewhat interactive because of the mysteries to solve!

Hello!
I am posting three demos on which Papa is currently working! These are meant for the Harmony Cart with real hardware. They may not look right with emulation.
- Street Fight World has flips now, and is almost done. The backgrounds are different, too.
- Motu uses overlapping, single-color sprites and will likely be a combination of boss battles and scrolling backgrounds--like Zonic.
- Zonic has zombies! and uses playercolors, player1colors, and pfheights (Papa's new favorite kernel option), along with overlapping sprites. There's a storm in the beginning at the title screen; if you don't skip through it, you'll see something cool!
Please let me know what you think, and I'll pass it along.

*NOTE: I accidentally uploaded the wrong Zonic!! This new one attached is the correct one. I apologize!

Today, the Jaguar is to the ST what the 5200 was to the 400/800.

So far, he's got a title screen with "Motu" looking like it's inhaling and exhaling with Orko as the selector for the two modes of gameplay: "toon" or "book". Toon will have gameplay that resembles the cartoon and Book will have gameplay that resembles the earlier comics/minibooks.
I, personally, prefer Teela as a blonde, so I'm hoping that difference will be included.

Once someone can make the Robotech sprites. I would like to take a stab at a game. I am big fan of Robotech as well. To include the non English versions. Yea Papa does makes some nice games.
Macross is one of the games on his list that he wants to make! :-) It seems almost impossible on a 2600 but it will be a mix of Space Harrier II and Afterburner. The project codename will probably be Robobeard: Space Harrier III--The Space Hairiest.

If you want a good Macross/Robotech game (one that understands the futility of endless hover, recharging missiles, and sniper missions with regards to realism as presented in Robotech), then you should try Macross for the PS2 (you'll need to be able to play Japanese PS2 games, but it excels in realism!).

Here is a photo I took of the most recent game Papa has started making.
I'm psyched because the characters are big enough to be able to tell who they are and it has that feel of nostalgia.
(I regret asking my cousin what Skeletor's staff was for because, according to him, it was for hitting me on the head.)
Can't wait to see Battle Cat!

This beautiful homebrew game that I love has lightning as an attack by the dwarf. The magic use is integral to beating the game!

We tested (Papa & I) it with a Harmony cart on a CRT TV in a modded Vader system, yup.

WOOOO HOOOO! I was able to make it through to the first fireworks!!! After some cussing (I hate hitting other cars!) I finally made it and they were Atari symbols fireworks flashing in the sky!
I used a SEGA three-button pad for controls, and thought of Chubbs telling Happy, "Tap it in...tap it in." That helped.

Jinks--thank you for your kind words!
Papa is not a psycho, like someone has said. He was going through a confusing, hard hard time and voiced his pain here (it was his only outlet at the time, and it was not pretty). I am his wife and follow this thread, so I saw your comments in my email.
He has a ton of ideas (I can see the list, now, lol) and is working on several projects. We've found a different outlet and path to take to make his games a reality, so if you are interested, you may send me a message.
