I have a Stratovox cocktail table game in good working condition for sale (it was the first game EVER to feature a digitized voice). $300 takes it, but you'd have to figure out shipping & crating from Minneapolis, as I have no way of transporting it anywhere. Let me know if you're interested: [email protected]

Looking to buy losse Atari 2600 games
videotwit replied to Anima Fan's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Yeah, still. I took a bunch of time off from selling (selling at the rate I was when I started took an enormous amount of time and energy), but I'm slowly starting to try to move these things again. I'm not putting so much effort into it yet, but am ramping up to finish the sale of my collection. If anyone is looking for games ... you know where to come! -

Post your list in a web-friendly format and maybe you'll get a better response. Just a plain ole text file is preferable to a Word doc (lots of us don't own Word, so we can't read your list). I have around 600 titles available for sale, and more than likely have stuff you'd be interested in.

Check out this one of a kind item I received today.

I would guess that they are not archival. Do a quick Google search for "Archival Plastic Bags" and you should be able to come up with some good options. -

videotwit replied to CPUWIZ's topic in Atari 2600
It depends on what the "plastic" is. Most bags will deteriorate (along with whatever is in it) due to the chemicals used to make the plastic. Some bags won't, however -- I believe they are made out of vinyl, but I'd have to double check this. Basically, if you are going to store ephemera in a plastic bag, make sure it is rated as "archival" -- then you shouldn't have a problem. -

You probably should ... and not just from a curiosity standpoint. That mat is more than likely not 100% rag, which means that as it ages it will deteriorate in the frame -- taking anything touching it along for the not-so-nice ride. I'd get it into a stable environment ASAP -- a 100% rag mat and backing at the very least (not just "acid free" but the real archival stuff), if not UV resistant glass as well. It's not cheap to do this, but it'll save your "investment" from the elements for many more years. If you decide to go this route, let us know what the actual acetate is like when you (or the professional framer, more likely) gets it out of the frame. -

OK .. missed the translucent "cel" aspect. CPUWIZ- Have you taken it out of the frame at any point? If so, are there 4 layers of acetate -- one printed in cyan (a bluish color), one magenta, one yellow, and one black? If so, this is a Color Key. In this case, it is more than likely a one-of-a-kind item. It was originally used to check proper color before printing an entire run -- this was before the days of digital proofing. Still not "original artwork," but cool nonetheless. -

videotwit replied to CPUWIZ's topic in Atari 2600
It's definitely the cover page of a manual. From what I can see (through the aweful jpeg compression in that picture) it's a press sheet -- not original artwork -- basically a proof of the final printing. Is this the case, CPUWIZ, or am I seeing wrong? There is a slight chance that this is an actual keyline -- but it doesn't look pasted up to me. That could just be because of the photo, though. If it is a press sheet, there could be hundreds of them floating around -- since printers usually over run these jobs at the very beginning of production (right before the press check) to get their press warmed up and the color adjusted to the proper saturations. I'm intrigued ... tell more CPUWIZ! -
I think I'm down to 4 or 5 systems now. At one point I had around 25 or 30 (I never did a real accurate count).

Normally I just sell my 2600 stuff, but I thought this might be a fun experiment: Is anyone out there interested in trading their mid-century modern stuff for Atari 2600 games? My primary interests are furniture designed by Ray & Charles Eames / Eero Saarinen, housewares designed by Russel or Mary Wright, and anything produced by the Raymor studio in Italy. Other nice things will definitely be considered -- let's make it interesting! I have lots of good games available. My (almost) complete list of available games is available for your browsing at http://www.ultratwit.com I'd also be more than happy to trade my Stratovox cocktail table arcade game for something cool, especially some nicely designed mid-century furniture item -- especially Eames sideshell chairs.
