  1. STATUS: I decided to create all the boxes arts first, and then put everything in the template, I receive 5x more orders than I expected and I'm very happy about that, about all the compliments that I've been receiving via email and AA. I'll be posting 3D samples as soon as I put the arts in the template. ^^ If anyone have any more orders for custom boxes, please contact me. =) #ThankYou

  2. Hi, :waving:

In this project I will be creating an exclusive box for each prototype made by Opcode. These prototypes were sold only in 5 copies per title, so just a few lucky people had the chance to get one of these copies, and now I'm creating a packaging to make it even more special and complete.

The pack contains: plastic case like the COLOR line + foam + personalized sleeve + personalized label.

    (shipping included for US).

Here is the list of prototypes that Opcode released along the way:

    - Exerion

    - Hang-on

    - Galaga

    - Comic bakery

    - Track and field 2

    - Sparkie

    - Konami's tennis

    - Hyper rally

    - Crazy train

    - Juno first

In parallel to this I can also create new custom boxes for colecovison, intellivison, atari, etc, games.

So if you have a project and want to make it happen, please contact me, I'll be glad to help you.

    Message me for more details.

  3. I was thinking about what I could do to make these boxes even more special and exclusive for you guys, so I thought about a few things:

    1) on the side of the box it will have the # of your copy, so the box and the cartridge can perfectly match.

    2) I will offer a replacement label, also with your copy # to match the pack just in case you wanna replace the original label someday.

    3) As some of you know, I'm not in the US yet so I will digitally sign your box and Ed will sign it also, but physically.

In the end of the day, in addition to you being one of the lucky 5 people to have a very exclusive game, you will also have a double signed exclusive box to match it perfectly. ;) :lust:

The pack will include: plastic box with a sleeve + foam + label.

    Here is an example:

So please contact via inbox or email with the list of the games you want.

  4. So how about getting a gatefold/magnetic box for a Gen1 Super Game Module? Should be easy since you've made a couple of those already :)

To make the template would be easy but the magnetic box is only made in China and in large quantity, so it's not viable to make =/

  5. @Grazi, thank you for the boxwork on Dodgeball! :) *hug* I'm trying to get the last couple of bugs out of it, and I'll try to fill in the middle of the box. :)

    -Thom

    Great, Thom!

When you finish the game just let me know so I can finish the box for you =)

  6. Hi everyone, I'm Grazi, from OpcodeGames. :waving:

Recently I was asked to create some boxes for older prototype games from Opcode, and I was wondering if more people would have the same interest. In case you guys do, I could make something like the new Opcode prototypes packaging: a nice illustration, a cover, label and a plastic case with insert foam, so your exclusive games could look even better and protected in your shelf.

Ed used to make 5 copies of each game and he did about a dozen different games, so if you are one of the luck poeple who grabed one of these copies (any game) and you have interest to have a nice packaging for you prototype please contact me. :)

If you do not have a prototype but wanna a cool packaging for your game (whatever game) created exclusively for you you can also contact me ;) I'm available for any graphic designer services.

Here are some samples of my work in the retrogaming world:

    • First such game is Mouser, a port of a little known arcade game created by UPL in 1983. Mouser is a platform game similar to Donkey Kong in many ways, where you must rescue your cat girlfriend that has been kidnaped by pesky mice. The game has 3 different screens. Only 10 copies will be made available, each copy will be numbered and come in cartridge format with a nicely designed color label by Grazi. Please contact us if you would like to purchase a copy and help us ([email protected]).

    Hey guys,

Mouser was a success and his successor Bokosuka Wars has only ONE copy left, so if you have interest please send an email for [email protected] . BTW, the next game will be Dorodon, a game by UPL very similar to Lady Bug. ;)

    (top = Bokosuka) / (bottom = Dorodon)

If anyone needs graphics work done, you can't do better than her! Plus, she was able to figure out what I wanted on the box even when I couldn't explain it all that well! Thank you Grazi!!!!

  9. Massachusetts, USA – February 10, 2017 – We have been receiving a lot of feedback since we announced the Super Game Module Pro back in January 1st, and based on that we decided to change our plans accordingly:

    1) The SGM Pro is now indefinitely on hold.

    2) Instead the sound subsystem we created was transferred to Project Prometheus, a new super 8-bit console coming from Opcode Games, and it will be fully backward compatible with the ColecoVision and the Super Game Module.

It wasn’t an easy decision, but let me give you a little background so you can better understand why we changed our plans. We started developing the SGM Pro back in early 2016. The board (PCB) was created way back in March, we even printed the boxes and stocked the clear black cases. That was a considerable investment in time and money we already made. However later in 2016, the opportunity for Project Prometheus arose, the perfect conjunction of many happy factors. Add to that the aforementioned feedback we got where: 1) people were frustrated by a new version of the SGM and the confusion it may cause, 2) people were really looking for a new ColecoVision compatible console. In the end of the day it became clear we had too many hardware products planned, and the SGM Pro was looking more and more like the Sega 32X of the ColecoVision line. So we made the hard decision of pulling the plug on the SGM Pro, even though that represents quite a financial hit to us in terms of inventory. On the other hand we believe Project Prometheus will better provide what ColecoVision and retro gaming general community alike are looking for.

And what about the regular Super Game Module? Well, that is the good news. Pre-orders for the 4th run will start in just a couple of week. Same deluxe packaging as the previous run at the same $90 price. Moreover, all games you saw during the SGM Pro presentation are still coming for the regular SGM.

More details about Project Prometheus will be revealed later this year. However please notice we aren’t realistically expecting to release Project Prometheus until late 2018.

  10. Yes! This is great news! When can we expect the restock to happen?

I currently have two games on order with Team Pixelboy, and I need to pay for that before I can buy Bosconians. We were suppose to recieve a late Holiday bonus in our paychecks before the boss man went on vacation, but no one got it last pay peroid. I've been literately chewing my finger nails off because I had plans to purchase quite a few Coleco games. The boss is back, though, and he promised everyone that we will see the money very soon. Grrrr. It can't happen soon enough!!!

We intend to restock still this month.

  11. @Grazi and Ed

Received my SE Gradius and Penguin Adventure and these are hands down the most beautifully designed boxes/instruction manuals/catalog for homebrew releases. This must be the best price/quality ratio ever, which is not very common these days.

Many thanks for caring that much for our hobby and keep them coming!

We are very glad for that!! Thank you, we really apreciate!!!

    Enjoy your new games :D

  13. GraziGamer said: « I can tell you that porting a arcade game takes muuuuuuch more effort and time than a MSX game »

-> It is why I say the word « business »! Ed has clearly made a choice (and I respect that): making « easier » (I don’t say that it is easy) MSX conversions, more « bankable », instead of trying to make enhanced arcade games or (better for me) ORIGINAL new games, more « risky » in their own.

Just for your information, we sold about 50 copies of Tank Battalion (MSX) while we sold ~300 Pac-Man Collection (ARCADE). And we prefer to release more MSX ports than arcade ports. Still wanna talk about money? Don't presume things because you are presuming extremely wrong!

About the time of the heads up, like I already said, we revived Opcode in Jan/2016, so you can complain before that, but we have proofs (like TPR showed you) that you cannot complain about the current Opcode. ALL emails are answered, all FB messages too, and all inboxes too, besides the many emails I have personally sent to inform everybody about the situation.

Anyways, we will not keep this conversation forever, you already made your mind and told us all what you think, and you can think whatever you want, I already gave you enough information to prove you are wrong.

But lets make one thing clear here, express your opinion is one thing, accuse people to do something that they are not doing just to prove yourself is another thing. You are accusing us and making wrong suppositions about things you have no idea, and it will no more be tolerated.
