I fixed the issue! Ended up hooking it up to an older plasma just using av cables. Worked just fine.

Hey guys! I ordered an "untested" power base converter for my model 1 genesis on eBay to play sega master system games. Got it in the mail, put it in, threw a game in and it boots up fine, but the screen just scrolls vertically slowly. Anyone ever heard of that happening before? It is hooked up to a smart tv hooked up through an avermedia AV to hdmi adapter, but regular sega games without the power base adapter play just fine. Any ideas?
