  1. That thread is 325 pages long... It became too tedious to visit that thread, so I started following the subreddit instead. Atari has release new info, that doesn't mean it's good info but it's worth keeping track of for later reference. For instance, I didn't even know they intend to release Tempest 4000 on it until I saw it in this OP.
  2. I'm not optimistic at all about Ataribox but finding any new info in that other thread is such a chore. And I'm sorry, I try to keep a good sense of humor, but that "taco meme" was lame from the start and is just tiring now. It would be nice to have it contained to that thread.
  3. Ah! You guys noticed it too!! I was discussing this with a friend on Monday night. I poured a lot of research into this and while I do still suspect Atari is hiding something, I'm not convinced we'll find it with whatever this unit is. At first i noticed that if you go frame by frame, there seems to be a CPU chip that is mounted diagonally. It could also just be artifacting because the quality of the video is so low. I started looking for media sticks with diagonal CPUs and the closest I could find were media sticks with the Rockchip RK3229, such as what you see here: https://w3bsit3-dns.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=801279&st=40 These sticks also have HDMI out on one end and USB on the other, which looks a lot like what's happening with that little pcb. However, I couldn't help but notice the white cord that seems to go up and over the DeWalt saw horse table and plug onto its leg. At first I thought it was a round AC adapter, which is similar to the mini USB power cord found on a Google Home Mini. But then I realized this wouldn't make sense because the saw horse doesn't have an electrical outlet, but we do know it's metal. So what's a plug looking thing doing sticking to a metal leg with no electrical supply? That's when I realized it's probably an antenna. I looked up different brands and it seems Garmin and other brands make such things and in different colors. They're used mostly on cars and boats. But they don't just plug into a device, they usually need a module to send the signal. Those modules look like this: And there's your answer. I think the device is most likely a GPS antenna receiver module, probably not the exact one in this pic but close enough. Maybe leftover from another project in that warehouse. I know it makes no sense to be using a device like that indoors but at this moment and without any other evidence I feel this is the most likely explanation for it. But maybe I'm wrong and we'll return to this after more evidence. Just sharing my research.
  4. I haven't been following this too closely here, just the articles that pop up on new sites. But one thing I don't get is why are people saying this contradicts or invalidates the information presented in the King of Kong documentary? If anything, I feel the film has been vindicated. I clearly remember the creator of Twin Galaxies writing a formal apology to Wiebe stating that they were giving preferential treatment to Mitchell, they also presented video evidence that Mitchell's surprise VHS tape had clearly been doctored and I recall the last scenes with Mitchell in it had his friend nodding in approval of Wiebe while Mitchell just stares defiantly even though he knew he'd been caught. My takeaway from the documentary in light of these new revelations is that it expertly presented evidence that Mitchell was not all he's cracked up to be or is an outright fraud years before anyone dared say so. So I don't get why people feel the documentary was a misstep.
  5. This is one of the best bundles I've ever seen: https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/tinybuild-party-bundle I paid more than that for Mr. Shifty alone. Sucks I own most of what's in it. But I might just get it for the ones I don't have and give the duplicate keys to friends.
  6. Sucks for this project, I didn't back it but my friend just got me into playing System Shock 2. I always feel that if you can't deliver the product then the backers at least deserve to receive the truth for the price they paid. These guys are not being up front about what's really happening, their wording is too vague. But if they don't want to come clean then the truth is probably worse than you expect. I didn't really follow this project because I was never into the SS games but if I had then a big red flag would have been this studio's previous games. It's really nothing but minimal port jobs. What they were trying to do here was rebuilding a game from the ground up. It's a totally different assignment and so in hindsight it's not surprising that they're stuck in this rut.
  7. Crimson Sea | Xbox exclusive Crimson Sea 2 | PS2 exclusive Hunter: The Reckoning | Xbox & Gamecube Hunter: The Reckoning: Wayward | PS2 exclusive Hunter: The Reckoning: Redeemer | Xbox exclusive Yes, that is a trilogy and yes they are stupidly titled like that with multiple colons.
  8. Even the super expensive TV out dock is a disaster... smh Out of all the systems I collect for I don't think I hate any of them as much as I do the SuperVision. I don't even think I've found a game I like, they all play like Tiger electronic LCD games. There really are no redeeming qualities to owning these aside from having a conversation piece.
  9. From the articles I read, there are no victims coming forward but the source of the outrage was a book in which Bushnell describes Atari corporate culture including a story where he had a board meeting in a hot tub and asked a female staffer to join them after she brought them some paperwork. That scenario is rather tame but still clearly inappropriate by today's professional standards. However, that interpretation would ignore the fact that second wave feminism was still an ongoing movement at the time of the occurrence. From a societal perspective there was no clear line in the sand yet, they were still being drawn. Criticizing Bushnell here is like chastising a WWI hero who didn't believe women should have the right to vote. In that time period the public was still debating the issue and sometimes public figures were misled and end up on the wrong side of history. It's easy to argue that there is a consistently right and wrong way to behave which spans across all time and people should just know which side is right regardless of their time period. But I feel that expectation is unreasonable, it takes time to bend the public consciousness on these issues that we previously didn't pay attention to. People who meant no harm will end up on the wrong side of history because they were operating within the bounds of what was tolerable at a particular point in time. Bushnell may have been on the wrong side of history then and GDC may be on the wrong side of history now. But GDC have their reasons, today we have the extremely sensitive issue of women being exploited in various entertainment industries. I think GDC got spooked and worried about the possibility that they might give an award to someone and then have accusers come forward the day after. Reneging on an award based on those grounds is acceptable today, just as asking your secretary to join you in the company hot tub was acceptable in the 70s. Which side was right is something history will have to decide.
  10. It's always been deep red to me. Not quite maroon but close to it. The only bright red shield I ever saw was on backlit GameBoy color and GameBoy Advance but those ports suck.
  11. YOU FOOL!!! Zoo Pals are the Stadium Events of utensils. You need to carefully place them on eBay one at a time and wait for enough time to pass for the prices to rebound back up. Putting them all up at once will flood the market and deflate their value. Send a few to get sealed and VGA graded too.
  12. Think of the "nunchuck thing" as like the middle controller handle on the N64 controller, it pretty much does the same functions on the Wii as it did on the N64. Yes, some games don't need it. But IIRC, like 90% of the games I played did need it so I don't know it might depend on your library. And yes, those are obviously fake Wiimotes that should have been with a knock off Chinese console. You can see on the back of them they have the infrared sensor thing, it's in between the two screw holes. So it's kinda weird but I think these were only meant to be played in a vertical orientation, holding it like a wand. One last thing, $37?!?!!! Good lord, how hard is it to get a Wii in your neck of the woods? They sell them around me for $10. Hell, I got one with the original box, practically brand new a few months ago for $20!
  13. Very cool to see the view from the stage! There I am, right aisle, third row, behind the empty chair.
  14. I was there for the panel and I can confirm that it was A PACKED HOUSE!!! I arrived to line up 30 minutes early and the queuing area was already up against the wall. I seriously think you're underselling yourself, the enforcers probably turned some people away, the room was that full. I agree that the chemistry between yourself and your co-host was well played. You described each game accurately but not taking it too seriously to the point of being boring while Matt cracked jokes, made funny observations and reactions along the way. It really kept the audience attentive as they waited for the next dose of info and humor. And yes, there was roaring applause at the end which was well earned. I know you pushed to have this panel approved for many years until now and the turnout shows me that its approval was long overdue. Not even kidding, this was the best panel I attended in the entire show. GREAT JOB!!
  15. This thread was deleted from Ataribox's subreddit. I see HistorianCM is one of the moderators, can he tell us why?
  16. That Astro Wars logo reminds me of something... can't quite put my finger on it... Congrats on getting one! I always loved the graphics on these. Is there an emulator for it out there?
  17. Thanks for the head's up. My uPlay account only exists to collect free games, as god intended.
  18. I played this on PS3 and enjoyed it quite a bit. It's a run-of-the-mill shooter, nothing innovative here, but if you're into those kinds of games you should give it a chance. Bonus points for correctly predicting the death of Kim Jong-il in the intro cutscene.
  19. That's highly likely, if you ask me. Look at the people he was recruiting for his project. By the time he took the RVGS project to the public there was Woita, Clarkson and Kevtris. In all the podcast interviews he couldn't help but name drop anyone and everyone with credentials that even breathed on him. All of these people had at least some amount of skill to their name. So why did he shift gears from grandstanding to then hiding a mysterious "Mr. Lee" from the public? You cannot look at this and not see that Mike's approach to his project changed drastically by that point. He knew damn well about Robinson's shady ass past, but those are the credentials he was looking for now that he was going full-on deception. He needed someone to make a convincing fake prototype to fool the gatekeepers at Kickstarter and he knew he could trust Robinson because anyone else on the team with a reputation to defend wouldn't go along with it. I don't think Mike brought in Sean for the purpose of being his fall guy, Mike's not the type that prepares for the worst, but Sean's spotty history became awfully convenient after Mike's lies came crashing down.
  20. ^ well, in all fairness, 1536 isn't blaming Sean of anything Coleco Chameleon related, he has no inside knowledge about Mike and Sean. He's only giving some very helpful background info about Sean with more supporting evidence than others have brought to the table. It helps construct a more convincing picture of who Sean is, what he's done in the past and what was his endgame here. We all witnessed the implosion of the Chameleon/RVGS first hand but finding out what happened behind the scenes is a lot more murky. I've heard a lot of stories, some of them contradictory. That's going to be a big problem for anyone trying to get the whole picture here. To someone who just watches a documentary they think there are definitive connections linking various events and people together that are just waiting to be found and chronicled, like dinosaur fossils waiting to be excavated and put back together. But I've been running a channel reporting on several shady projects and when people who do know the truth clearly don't want you to know the facts (as we have with this project) that's when the lines connecting information start to blur. Some connections are stronger than others, some of your strongest connections turn out to be false leads. So it's not like dinosaur digging, it's like chasing a Sasquatch. You're right to be critical with new information as we all should be, but 1536's info seems spot on. It would be nice to hear from Cowgill too though.
  21. Something tells me you're the go-to guy for Zodiac stuff I wanted one, but the prices have really hiked up in the past few years. I remember seeing ads for them in magazines back in the day.
