The Official "Thrift finds" Thread
Mitkraft replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You're aweful brave to temp fate by posting before you complete a deal. I'm always afraid to jinx it. -
Is this a notice of SOLD prices or ASKING prices? Because you know what they say: Asking aint getting!
-
I for one would vote against these ideas. For you guys that want to be segregated because you only care about one system it seems great. I personally would HATE having to dig through a bunch of sub forums and such just to keep an eye out for marketplace items I might be interested in. And what happens when I have a bunch of different stuff to sell or a lot that contains items from multiple systems? I have to either choose only one section to post in or post multiple threads. I just don't understand why it's so hard to scan the marketplace threads for stuff you are interested in. Heck, I just subscribe to the marketplace forum. Anytime a new thread is created I get an email. If it's not something I'm interested in then I delete it. It really don't get too many emails from it that it's a problem.
-
I personally find one long run-on selling thread to be a pain in the butt on forums that work that way. Having a separate thread for each sale with an appropriate title is much easier to browse. It's not as if the marketplace is such high traffic that things disappear of the first page or two very quickly.
-
Are you talking about one running thread in the marketplace with just TI stuff? I think thats a bad idea. How would you keep up, bump your stuff, etc. Seems much easier to just watch the marketplace for TI stuff. We already often post the TI stuff in that forum. One giant thread could get unruly.

Your last post leads me to believe this isn't spoken for yet. It not, I'll gladly pay shipping if you are in the states.

Thrift store games for sale - console and computer games
Mitkraft replied to FujiSkunk's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I'll take the NES controllers, zapper and Power supply. I have a console only I picked up at a garage sale that needs these. Thanks! -
Plug & Play HELL - is ANYone into these things?
Mitkraft replied to Good_Times's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
No assumptions were made. My respose was simply if/then statements as well as a well founded fear based on plenty of forum history. But your response...well.... -

That depends on what you are asking. If you are asking can you make a pile of money because we will drool over all of them and pay you stupid prices for them? For the most part probably not especially on this forum. If you are asking can you make a few bucks and will there be some nostalgic interest in them then the answer is probably so. I always fear when a new member asks a question like this because the reason is usually the former and not the later. -
I'll take it if Keepr doesn't.

We are in the same boat with the 4th a holiday and the 3rd not. I have every other Friday off and last Friday was an off day so I'm taking vacation on Monday and making a 5 day weekend out of it.

That's a good deal at $.50! I have an Impact Acoustics 4x2 matrix component video switcher that handles my in home HD distribution and I love it. -
Is that a GroovyGameGear Zippy that you upgraded to? if so, are you using it in 4 or 8 way mode and how do you like it? I'm going to have a dedicated 4 way on one of my cabs at some point and I usually get my stuff from GGG.
-
Wow, its gone up to $35. I think others want it more than me.

Except for the rare exception, consumer TVs are not directly compatible with arcade game video feed. Trust me, the arcade community would be all over this if it were that easy. They have (as I think I stated somewhere earlier in this thread) found where you can swap in a tube from a consumer TV to an arcade monitor chasis but that has its own compatibility requirements and also isn't an operation for the faint of heart.

There is no BIN. All I can do is wait and watch.

Thats pretty cool. I'll be watching.

That's what I thought. Curious that he has multiple flash cart shells. That has to be an AA member.

I picked up a Plato interpreter and 3 courses CIB a while back in a big lot and sold them here on AA but I was very conflicted about doing so.

Don't think for one second that those people don't know good and well they are selling bootlegged copies. That's why they refunded your money so fast. I recently bought a new version of Quicken off eBay that was listed as brand new. Although stated that it didn't come with a box I assumed it would at least be a legit CD. What I got was a home burned CD with a printed label and some "receipt" from quicken that mentioned volume license except referred to TurboTax and not Quicken. I told the seller in no uncertain terms that there was no way I was trusting my financial data with a copy of quicken who's pedigree I couldn't verify. He insisted it was legit and I told him that unless he could provide me with a CD from Intuit or a link to download the copy from them then I wanted a refund. He said he'd give me one but when he didn't after a few days I filed an "item not as described". I also reported it to Quicken via a form on their website.

I don't think its as hard as you think to find a BD player with component video output that does 1080. Most of the ones I've come across will do it because I use component for video dostribution throughout my house (had it in place before HDMi was prevelant. -
Well of course it is. He joined our site and found this thread just to pimp his auction. Who knows how many other places he posted to do the same thing.

Actually what I really want is the binder and documentation if you happen to have one of those without a cart.

I'd be interested in an EA depending on the price. Opened and used would probably be more in my price range if that's what you have. I also have some funds in my paypal account so now that I'm thinking about it I should order a nanopeb case.
