  1. Anything he sells that you can research sold items on (yes even sealed) will show his prices significantly higher.
  2. Everything I've seen from that seller (who I suspect is you) has been significantly overpriced. If it is you, then bad on you for trying to secretly pimp your own auctions and doing so outside of the proper forum.
  3. I have an atawii with an unopened pacman cart I'd like to know how much its worth.
  4. A lot of guys in the arcade world have used vinegar to remove rust from metal parts without having to sand them. I've seen people use it on Pinball machine legs since they are silver colored and polished so you don't want to sand them. I've used it on metal hardware from an arcade cabinet that was allowed to sit out in the elements and get rusty. I just put the parts in a container, filled it with vinegar and soaked them for a day or two. The vinegar will eat away the rust leaving the non-rusted parts. Fair warning though, on items that were rusted all the way through it will eat all that rust and leave a pit or hole. A transparent lacquer like nanochess suggested might be a good idea afterwards because I think they are susceptible to rusting more after the process.
  5. That only makes it more robust to interference, not immune. I've seen it in action since I've done some tinkering with mixing antenna and internal RF feeds on the same coax inside my house. Again though, its splitting hairs because the likelihood of messing up your neighbors signal with something like the lack of RF shield in a game console was pretty minimal even on NTSC.
  6. ATSC broadcasts in the same frequencies as NTSC so would be just a sceptible to interference. Just because we've gone digital doesn't change that. Not that chances of interference are high.
  7. Are you talking about the web server or the DNS server? Domain name has no bearing on where the web server is located. A domain name can be pointed at a server anywhere. I'm not sure how traffic goes though. I think traffic passes directly from the server to the client and not through the DNS server. Doesn't the DNS server just provide the IP address pointers for the server? Like I said, my internet architecture knowledge is rusty. What I'm saying is that just because a TLD is for a particular country doesn't mean the website is hosted there.
  8. I'm having a hard time getting my brain around what you are saying. If a TLD is for a particular country then all data for an address in that TLD goes through that country? My internet architecture knowledge is very rusty but this doesn't sound right, is that true?
  9. I'll take the Mattel Football 2 if you can ship it with the Odyssey 2 controllers from the other thread.
  10. I'm a big tinkerer and tend to bounce around a bit from project to project. I'll get obsessed with something for a while then move on but have several things that I come back to. I'm always into computers of some form so I'm often building, working on, repairing various modern computers. Along with tinkering with my TI I also have plans for a Commodore setup (currently have a non-working Vic20 which I might repair and parlay into a C64). I also tinker with a handful of consoles including VCS, SMS, Odyssey-2 as well as a modern (ish?) Xbox and Wii (I have 3 360's I plan to make one working unit out of). My current obsession is vintage audio gear and I have a HUGE collection of vinyl albums which is about 50% classical, 15% Jazz and the rest mostly pop, rock, r&b etc. I have a few vintage receivers and speakers that I plan on refurbishing in the near future. I also have plans to upgrade my digital playback game with a much better DAC (digital to analog converter) since I've been converting from MP3 to FLAC and have acquired some high resolution audio files recently. On the back burner lately is my interest in Arcade machines. I have two arcade projects in the garage that are held up mostly by the cabinet work I need to do. I need to sand, repair, and repaint the cabinets. One machine is an original Tron arcade cabinet that I bought completely gutted and have since acquired most of the reproduction graphics and plastics for as well as original controls. I don't have any of the game boards for it though and since it wasn't an original to begin with I don't feel to bad turning it into a multi. It will have an original tron Joystick with a Groovygamegear repro handle and a modern USB push-pull spinner in place of the original to enable other spinner games including Discs of Tron. The other arcade cabinet is a generic dynamo cab that will also be a multi but have a pair joystick + 6 button controls for two player fighter games. I also have acquired a taste for pinball so I'll probably get one of those at some point. Other obsession that are currently on the back burner and could come back any time: Motorhomes - I's really love to buy and refurbish an RV but storage costs have prevented me so far. Camping and Fishing Playing Music - I was a trumpet player through college and pursued most of a music degree before switching to a BA so one of these days I'm going to get back into shape and start playing my horns again. I still have my Bb, C, and Flugel horns.
  11. I wondered about these things as well when I saw something about them a while back. After reading I got the impression that you guys are giving now that its only value is as a collector's item.
  12. I don't really care about my funeral or burial arrangements after I die. Those things are for the living, not the dead. That being said, I would like my final resting place to be near my wife's be it burial, ashes or whatever. I guess I'm not deep enough into this stuff that I want it memorialized with me. However, on that same topic, I feel like my grandfather who would say, "What I'd like people to say at my funeral is, 'LOOK! He's moving!'"
  13. Finally remembered to check. I have 3 duplicates: Alien Invaders- Plus!, Math-A-Magic! (with label torn off) and Speedway!/Spin-Out!/Crypti-Logic! Interested in those?
  14. I'm not really sure thow that would work. If you get into a multi-bidder auction and pay a premium for something, what are the chances you'll be able to flip it for an inflated price? Doesn't seem to make sense.
  15. I have a few duplicates I'd love to trade for something I don't have. I'll check when I get home to see how many I have exactly.
  16. Funny you should say that. I sold mine that I'd had since I was a kid on eBay several months ago. It was in used but good condition and it when't pretty quick with a $20 buy it now.
  17. I have no idea how good it sounds, but I've heard good things about Project turntables and Klipsch is no slouch. Frys his this combo of a Project turntable and powered Klipsch speakers with built in phono pre-amp for $399 through Friday if you get Fry's promo codes (you have to sign up to get them via email so not sure if you can get a code for this week if you don't already get them): http://www.frys.com/product/8965063 That might satisfy your lack of space and give you a good starter setup.
  18. Holy smokes, a signed Ramones album must be worth quite a bit!
  19. Wow, great additions to the collection! I bet that Clockwork Orange is pretty cool! If you do decide to get into Vinyl, I recommend getting a decent or better older turntable and giving it a refurb. You will do much better than buying a new one for the same amount of money. Always get a new stylus though unless you can trust the condition and number of hours on a used one. My HPB has some pretty laughable prices in the lock box as well. Almost every album I find in there is significantly overpriced. The last few times I've had a 50% coupon I wanted to use it on an otherwise expensive album there and even with 50% off I couldn't find one that was a good deal. My local one has also started to overprice almost across the board.
  20. Yeah, the downside of buying online is the sideways glance you get when another package arrives. My vinyl collection is bursting at the seems and record mailers are pretty noticeable.
  21. Pending payment of shipping it looks like I have a taker. I'll update the thread when its a done deal or if anything changes. Thanks all! Craig, I'll shoot you an email but it will have to be after you get back. With this weekend being Mother's day I'll be busy I'm sure.
