So I've already ordered my six switch RGB mod and I'm waiting for it to arrive but the one thing that is still bugging me is the lack of 2 channel audio that is available in every other A/V mod I've seen for the 2600. I really liked the effect of the channel separation from the electronicsentamentalities mod I installed on another 2600. Is there any way to wire this up and retain the 2 channel audio output? If not, is it possible to use one of the other A/V mods just for the audio portion? Am I the only one who would miss this feature?

FYI, bump n jump isn't a $10 seller on eBay. Mines been sitting at $5.49 BIN for several weeks. If you really want to know what these are selling for, hit eBay and search the current buy it now and all sold items. You'd be hard pressed to say it's worth more than a given price if a handful are available to BIN at that price and you shouldn't expect more than you are generally seeing in the sold items. Another thing worth pointing out, AA rarity ratings do not necessarily reflect price. Especially in the 1-5 range. I know plenty of super common ET's sell every day for more than less desirable 5's.

Atari 2600 New in Box with unopened PACMAN
Mitkraft replied to Natalie888's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I never thought I'd have anything to contribute to this thread but I just got finished installing wood floor in my study and when I was done and cleaning up the scraps I realized: I HAVE TRIANGLES COMMING OUT OF MY ASS! Should I see a doctor? -
Did I miss something? I was pretty sure all evidence points to it not being a Heavy. What am I missing?

I didn't know about the red label Yars. That's pretty! Yars is one of those I have sentimental attachment to. I have my original standard label and a Sears label but I'd snag one like that if I saw it to! I've never heard of 3D games, I do t think we have one on my side of town. Is it a chain? -
Wow! I gotta snag one of your lots one of these days! I keep seeing them after they are sold and thinking "I probably woulda taken that". I think your last 100 items for $100 made me think that. There are some good carts in there and everything looks like its in GREAT condition. Thanks for passing it along to the community!

FYI, you might do some reading up on screen colors. You might find that white isn't the best choice. I have a DLP projector and I built my screen using 2x4's wrapped in a black cloth and a grayish material. It's just regular material bought at Hobby Lobby but I chose it carefully because of its color and sheen. Gray screens are often used with DLP/LCD projectors because unlike CRT projectors they do not produce a true black. A slightly gray screen can help that a bit ant alo reduces hot spotting. The AVS forum has some great threads on screen color and home made screen materials. -

Iceman you rock! Major props for putting that rude lowballer in her place. I hate it when people act all offended at your asking price even though they will gladly pay it. I also hate rude garage salers. It's one of the reasons I don't have garage sales anymore. I have no problem with someone offering me less or even low balling me. But don't go getting all rude or demanding with me. It's ok if we don't agree on price. It's not ok if you insist that I accept your opinion on the value of my item. -

I'll add that a lot of these sellers are completely clueless. They are the kind that see item X being offered at high prices so they think there's is also worth that. They have no clue and don't realize that condition, model, accessories and specifics play into value. They also don't understand the difference between ASKING and SELLING prices. I answered a CL ad for an "Atari + Games + controllers, huge lot" recently. The guy was asking $300 with no pictures. Turns out he had a light sixer, about 20 or so completely common games and the standard compliment of controllers. The only less-than ordinary thing he had in the lot was a Wico trackball with box. I explained to him that I sold a fully loaded, AV, modified Sixer with 66 games for way less than that. He wasn't upset, but he just really had no clue. He just knew he had a "lot of stuff" and it was "all original and in good condition". As a general rule of thumb, people just have no clue.

Part of it depends on whether you are buying from a collector or not. Sometimes people are just selling the junk their kids left behind or don't use anymore. Not only do they not care, but they probably aren't aware of the need or the proper procedures for cleaning stuff. You should have seen what the Atari Heavy I bought off craigslist recently looked like. I bought it from an Asian guy in a nice house in a pretty nice neighborhood across town. It was a complete set with CX-10's and everything. And it was FILTHY! So much so that for the very first time I actually put an Atari in the dishwasher (which really didn't clean all that well btw for the record. Soap, water and a tooth brush work WAY better).

Driving Paddle w/Atari logo instead of "driving"
Mitkraft replied to Domino8282's topic in Atari 2600
Don't forget you have a set of the Atari labeled paddles to! I also have a set of Sears labled Driving Controllers and two sets of Sears paddles to go with my Tele-Games Heavy. I just need some Sears CX-10's and I've got the whole set! -
BITD = back in the day

Did you actually feel that way BITD? Because I didn't and I'd be surprised if very many consumers even really registered it.

I have both bought and sold Atari's on eBay. I've bought 2 heavy's, 1 light sixer, and one 4 switch woody on eBay and all of them worked. I know at least two of those as well as the heavy I bought on craigslist were listed as "untested. One of my heavies had a boogered up joystick pin but it's easily fixable. I think another of my heavys had a joystick port pin that wasn't making connecting. I re-flowed the solder on that pin and all was good. The good thing about Atari's is that there is only so much that can go wrong with them and replacement parts can still be had. I've also purcahsed two large lots of games, one here and one on eBay and a few small batches. I'd say out of that I only got a couple of buggy games after cleaning them with alcohol and a q-tip. My Atari cart failure rate from the local game store is WAY higher than eBay for me.

They never do, do they?
-
I'm going to go out on a limb and say I'm pretty sure based on the serial number on the box that it isn't a heavy. None of the Heavy's in the serial number database have a serial number in that range. My money is on it being a light sixer. A sealed in box light sixer is still a valuable item though.
-
I've never read up on Atari box variations, but I'm guessing that the "made in Taiwan" might be an indicator that it is not a Heavy sixer. I know its a heavy on the box picture but didn't even the light sixers have a heavy pictured on the box? Again I am no box expert so I'm only assuming, I'd love for someone more knowledgeable to confirm or deny that.

You evil evil man! I had no intention or desire to add another console to my mix but aside from an NES, the O2 holds the most nostalgia for me of the consoles I don't have. So tempted. -
Advice for how to sell duplicate games

Are any of your carts Sears or Tele-games labeled? I'm collecting those and might be interested in them. -
Advice for how to sell duplicate games
Mitkraft replied to MrAtariGuy's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I agree that the best way to offload games is to sell them with a cheap working unit. Look around your local CL or even ebay for a cheap 4 switcher or Jr. and some controllers. Test them out, shine them up, and sell them with 20-50 games. I believe you will get a better return on your games that way. Another possibility would be a "choose your game" lot. Put all the games you'd sell for about the same price together and start an eBay "buy it now" for X number of games of your choosing from this list. Selling in batches can often work out better because (for me at least) shipping a single game is usually more than I want to spend for the whole game. You could also potentially list them all on ebay and appropriately cheap prices and setup an automated bulk/combined shipping. That way buyers can see right away how much it will cost them to buy more than one or two games. One other method I almost forgot about would be to make a lot with all unique games and sell them on craigslist. Then you don't have to pay ebay or paypal fees and the buyer doesn't have to pay shipping. -
Wow, that is an awful story! You may have more usable parts left than you realize. Power supply, ISO transfomer, controles..etc. Maybe you could take your story over to KLOV and see if someone near you could help out. You'd be amazed at how many people have cabs laying around and finding someone to donate a monitor is often pretty easy. If I were near I sure as heck would! I'd hate to see you give up on arcades just because of this. You'd be surprised at all the familiar faces at KLOV. I find a member from here over there or vice versa all the time.

Now I know what tweakers do when they aren't cooking meth. Apparently they sell video games on eBay. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 301705935183 Cartoon image of item for sale? check Reference to obscure show as if that's going to generate sales? check Bizarre language, rantings in description? check Extremely bad English/writing skills? check Disturbing pictures? check Abusive language in feedback for anyone who complains?
