Ok, I'm letting you know: Things are AWESOME! I can't believe I started this journey by asking "should I repair my old 4 switch woody or ad a cart port to my flashback 2" and now here I am having bought my very own Tele-Games Heavy Sixer! Came in the mail yesterday and I'm pretty sure this came from someones barn..lol. It was pretty dirty with some gunk. I gave it a good bath, the guts were actually pretty clean so I didn't do anything to them. The pictures are all post clean-up and it is GORGEOUS! You can see in one picture the entire lot. The guys original BIN price was $119+$20. I offered $63 and he countered with the $75 that I eventually accepted. The joysticks aren't CX-10's but I was surprised that they actually worked really well! I think they are going to be my knew primary sticks. I've been using the sticks from my flashback because all of my originals need refurbed and have issues but these feel SO much better! The buttons are a little soft but the joystick motion is super smooth and feels almost like a good arcade leaf stick. I connected it up to my LCD in the kitchen and was worried at first because I was getting this strange heavy ghosting but I hooked up my Vader and it did the same thing so it must be the TV. My plan is to install A/V and pause mods since this will be my primary player. My plan is to install the mods without cutting any new holes or modifying the case at all. This way it would be completely reversible. I'll post a new thread showing how I go about doing that when I actually get to it. I have a plan (and not like BSG, I really have one). I was originally going to go with the electronicsentamentalities svideo mod but now I'm tempted by the new RGB mod. Of course if I do that then I'll have to either track down a 27" pro video monitor with RGB input or try the difficult looking stantard TV RGB mod I've seen a few people try. There's no way in hell I'm going through this much trouble and playing this on an LCD!

Oooh, I'm so tempted. I need an Sega Master System FM Sound Expansion Board as well. Any way I can get one of those through Yurkie and save on shipping on that to?

Wow, Houston Arcade Expo seems like so far away. That's cool though that you are going to be there? I went last year for the first time and I'm sure I'll go again. I forgot or didn't realize that you were in Texas..cool. Btw, I have a light sixer with an electronicsentamentalities A/V (Svideo and Composite) and AA pause mod that I'm probably going to be selling soon. I've got a Sears Heavy on the way and I really don't need both. I was going to package them with some commons and sell it on eBay. But if one of you guys want it I'll sell it for what I'm into it for which is about $85 when I ad the cost of the unit to the cost of the mod kits.

What the heck? Why did shamanka bump someone elses old WTB thread to sell his stuff and why did Opry99er reply with a link to my for sale thread? Funny thing though, Copper20 was offering to buy cases for 3.49 each when I was told my games with case and manual were only worth $4.50 each. That would make it seem like the case is worth more than the game! Edited: oh wait, now I see, shamanka is trying to respond to the OP...I get it now...I'm slow sometimes. I grew up in one of those neighborhoods with the "Slow Children at Play" sign.

Which Sega Master System flash cart should I get?
Mitkraft replied to Mitkraft's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I did some checking and the FM mod that uses the expansion slot in combination with the Master Everdrive is probably the way I'm going to go. The only thing I'll be missing is support for games larger than 8M but I'm not even sure there are any of those and if their are they are later homebrews which I can live without. -
I still need to post a pic of the Manuals, but price drop before splitting and/or going on the bay. $55 + shipping. Maybe I could throw in say 4 Atari 2600 commons to sweeten the deal? I know, strange combo but I have a bunch of duplicates. If your interested and want to know what commons I have to chose from shoot me a PM.

I appreciate the input but If you figure about $7 shipping for the lot then you are saying this entire lot of games should go for $38? Seems pretty low to me. Before I decided to go flash cart if I'd seen SMS games for $4.50 with a case and manual would have snatched it up in a heartbeat no matter what game it was! Boxes are in perfect condition (no cardboard box, just plastic cases). I can take pics of the manuals, I'll do that and post.

Truth be told I made an offer on the one that prompted me to start this thread. I ended up getting it for $75+$20 shipping. It comes with two sets of paddles, a pair of joysticks and driving controllers, gray Atari power adapter, 10ish common games and one of those wooden game/manual storage boxes. Pretty sure the joysticks aren't CX-10's though.

Wow, from what I'm seeing if you got a minty Sears H6 WITH two CX-10's for $50 I'd call that a steal! Congrats. I'd also think finding them via a non-eBay outlet wouldn't be very often.

Which Sega Master System flash cart should I get?
Mitkraft replied to Mitkraft's topic in Classic Console Discussion
So if I hear you correctly what you are saying is that you really really really love the Genesis? I'm just teasing, I get what you are saying and where you are coming from but from my perspective I'm not looking to collect a ton of consoles. I really have a limited focus on which consoles interest me. I also prefer to play on the original hardware for the few actual consoles I have (Atari 2600, SMS, TI 99/4a) and use emulation for the rest. I did some digging and found a great thread on another forum that has some info and comparison between Everdrive and Myth: http://www.smspower.org/forums/13372-SEGAMKIII256MMythFlashCart -
Which Sega Master System flash cart should I get?
Mitkraft replied to Mitkraft's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Ok, maybe I'm dense but I really don't understand what you are saying. How are flash carts redundant exactly (or are you going on the premise that they only hold one game)? Also, how exactly does the Mega Everdrive set me up for Genesis and 32X? I don't understand that either. I'm assuming you mean they somehow work in a Genesis right? Because I can't imagine your saying I could play Genesis/32X games on an SMS. My current intentions aren't to get a Genesis so I really only want it for the SMS. If it only held one game at a time then that would be a dealbreaker though but I'm waiting for someone to confirm that is indeed true -
Looks like its cosmetically in decent shape, comes with the standard accessories plus a set of joysticks, paddles, driving controllers and a handful of completely common games. It is however being sold with the dreaded, "untested", "worked last time I used it" moniker. I don't however get the impression that this seller is one of those who regularly sells broken stuff while calling it "untested".

It only holds one game? Is that true? Because that wasn't my understanding. I was under the impression that it had an internal menu just like all the other flash carts. And since the Neoflash card it comes with is 256meg is should pretty much hold the entire SMS library. I checked and the SMS complete library rom download is only like 43meg zipped. I'll have to check when I get home what the unzipped file size is though. And what did you mean about "use FM sound on Game Gear"? I'm not sure what you meant by that. Are you talking about if you used the myth cart in a Game Gear? I wouldn't know anything about that, I only intend to use it on an actual Sega Master System. -
This Atari sickness is just getting worse and now I find myself on the lookout for a good deal on a heavy sixer. I haven't decided if I prefer an Atari or a Telegames so I'm watching prices on both. I have a line on a Sears version but I'm curious what you guys think is a good value on these. I know that Atari Age value is going to be different than say eBay value, but what would you guys consider to be a good deal on a Telegames heavy?

As I understand it my two best options are the Everdrive cart and the Neoflash Myth MKIII cart. Best I can figure, the Everdrive uses SD card (larger and cheaper) but it doesn't have FM sound, and is limited to 8mbit games. The Myth cart uses a NeoFlash drive (harder to find, only 256meg) but has FM sound and can handle 16mbit games. I'd love to hear some opinions of one versus the other as well as any corrections to my understanding between them. Thanks!

Well, that resolve didn't last long. Got a good offer for Great Football and Ghostbusters so they are sold payment. Remaining lot asking price lowered to $69.
-
PM replied to. I'm hoping to sell these together at this point. Breaking them up would be the next step if I don't get any interest.
-
Oh, I'd also consider trades that involved an SMS flash cart or Atari 2600 flash cart.
-
These were sold locally. For posterity sake, they sold for $69 with the inclusion of a copy of Alex Kidd. I'm looking to sell my SMS games to raise money for a NEO SEGA MKIII Myth flash cart. All of the games with cases also have manuals except "Hang On/Safari Hunt" I'd like to get $55 + shipping for the set. If that's not reasonable let me know what a fair amount would be. Thanks! Update: Great Football and Ghostbusters are sold and shipped. Price for the remaining lot now $69 $55.

suggestions for analog/component to VGA
Mitkraft replied to ianoid's topic in Classic Console Discussion
You might try looking for an old plasma TV receiver. They were semi common when flat TV's first started coming out as some of them were just monitors. I got one dirt cheap from Circuit City BITD to hook up to my CRT projector which only had RGBHV input. It basically has an analog tuner and an array of inputs (pretty much everything pre-DVI) and outputs everything to VGA. Not sure if any/all of them do any forced scaling or not though. I can't remember what output/input resolutions mine supported. -
What Atari 2600 Game Has Your Favorite Sound?
Mitkraft replied to Skippy B. Coyote's topic in Atari 2600
I guess because I played a ton of it as a kid I love the sounds in Demon Attack. The game play sounds, the level complete music and the death sound all took me right back to my childhood when I refurbed my Atari and played it for the first time since my childhood. Another one that I always really liked (probably because I'm just the right age) is Kool-Aid Man. I love the opening/power-up tune, the sounds of the sipping and when you get bounced. -
Wouldn't using a heavy sixer for an HTPC project be a bit of a travesty?
