  1. That SAMS cassette set was for the longest time the only software I had for my TI when I was a kid.  All I had was a bare console and all I could do was play with basic and save/load programs via cassette using an already old tape recorder of the same form factor as the TI program recorder but lacking the remote jack so I had to start and stop it manually.

Guy's just trying to make a buck before Christmas. I recently purchased an entire library of several Atari ST magazines in pdf from eBay. Much easier paying a few bucks than tracking them all down and downloading them myself. He's marketing convenience.

You guys are way too lenient.  Selling digital copies of stuff freely available to download is both pirating and straight up scamming.  That auction is BS and should be reported to eBay.  And I really hate the “guys just trying to make a buck” argument because so is the guy who breaks into your car.  There is no way he’s scanned all these himself and they are certainly just stuff he downloaded.  He’s basically trying to profit and sell someone else’s work with little to no effort on his part.

This is what CX-10's look like. Besides the hex plate topper, if you look closely at the perimeter of the stick boot, it's held in by tabs. Later model CX-40's have the entire base of their boots held in place by a retaining ring, giving a more "finished" look.

The real/easy dead giveaway is that CX-10 don’t have “top” printed on the ring.  @save2600 is incorrect though about the hex discs.  They are a myth and don’t exist...lol. Seriously though, are those repros or originals? I don’t think I’ve ever seen an original with the hex disc still attached.

I thought I spied it in the photo in this post.  However, it appears I am mistaken.  I was under the impression the original CX-10 had the Atari logo in the upper-right, but that appears to be a much later repro from a Flashback.

Hi I have a similar problem but my two Atari 2600 woodies with fixed cables refuse to scan on analog TV tuners. o

One is a Samsung LCD and the other my old CRT. My UK Atari does not have a channel changer switche on the bottom of the unit.

I tried tuning in on both 3 and 4 ch with no joy. The Atari  lead fits straight into the TV cable in socket.

    Ripping hair out this end!!

Sorry for jumping in on thread

The funny thing is my old pong game does tune in to both TV sets. Maybe I bought two duff units..

You say the atari lead fits right into the socket. It shouldn’t. The Atari is sending an RF signal on an RCA connector. Every TV I’ve ever seem uses a coax (F type I think its called) for RF signals. RCA connections are usually for video inputs.

I fully understand different strokes for different folks, to fill their individual needs and wants, but for me the difference between a Nano-PEB and a TIPI is like a stock 1928 Ford going up against a 2020 Corvette.

Thats because you are only seeing it from the perspective of what YOU would do.  Most people aren’t doing development and really just want to play with the standard software on their TI.  I’ll be honest with you, with a flash cart and PEB (real or nano), I’m probably set.  I wouldn’t even know what to do with a TIPI and probably won’t be venturing down the road where I would.

That's Bull S$#^! This crowdfunding crap is totally out of hand.  I understand some hobbyist trying to put out some obscure product with limited interest, but why the hell is one of the biggest toy companies in the world asking people to pay before they make a toy?!  That's outrageous!

I'm not sure what you are getting at here.  Nobody is "calling them pads" this is just typical BS keyword spamming to try and get their listing to show up in as many searches as possible.  It is really annoying though but unfortunately "pads" is probably close enough that eBay wouldn't agree if you flagged the add for keyword spamming.  Unfortunately there are tons of much more egregious examples and they really bug me every time I'm trying to craft a very specific search for a specific item and it gets flooded with a lot of completely unrelated ads using words that don't even belong.

Back in the SCSI days I was Seagate exclusively.  But IDE and SATA, I have never had a Seagate last as long as a WD RE, Enterprise, or Black desktop drive.  WD Green are pure trash.  WD Blue had a VERY bad stutter start with a very high percentage dead within 36 hours of deployment if not right out of the box.  Blacks and above, nary trouble.  I have RAID Edition drives which are eight years old running with no errors (not for anything critical, mind you -- I am not crazy.)  Not to say they never fail, but it has been such a low percentage I will self-warrant the systems I build with them for five years.

Much to my chagrin, I had one customer go almost ten.  Since the system's cooling crapped out and the server was in a non-ventilated storage room, the drives reached almost boiling. I cannot use them as a case since there is no way to determine if almost ten years of continuous service killed them or if they cooked.

Ah, I'm speaking strictly from a consumer point of view.  I've never bought Red or Enterprise drives.  WD Blue to Seagate consumer level drives I've had better luck with Seagate.

  9. eBay only charges the 10% on your shipping if you do not use eBay's shipping options. This is mean to prevent people from boosting up shipping price to avoid fees. Otherwise, yes, you will pay 10% to eBay and around 3% to PayPal. I have no idea about the extra 4% for low rating.

BTW, I understand this applies to individual sellers. If you have a store you pay less in fees, but how much less is not clear to me.

Can you confirm that it is indeed true that they don't charge fees on shipping if you buy shipping through ebay? Because that would be news to me and contrary to what I believed. I still remember when they changed the policy and began charging sales fee on the full amount so if they changed at some point I missed it.

  11. I got these a while back from my uncle who worked for TI BITD. I keep meaning to go through them and see what I want to keep and to sell but never getting around to it. I haven't opened up the box since nearly a year ago when I took these pics. Just came across the pictures and thought I'd share here and see what you guys thought.

The largest of the wafers is like 10" if I remember correctly.
