OK, I have removed the wording and added a link to your wikipedia article. BTW. Thanks for contributing to my computing youth.

For your current hi-res only monitor, these games are listed as hi-res: http://www.atarimania.com/list_games_atari-st-high-resolution_resolution_high_S_G.html Asteroids is in and .ST file and so has no disk protection. It also works in hi-res mode: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-st-asteroids_11118.html

The cover disks on my Atari ST Review website should allow you to copy the contents using the HxC floppy emulator software: http://www.chillichai.com/atari-st-review A few may not work but most should. Enjoy.

ST game disks tend to have some form of protection in the formatting which stops them being copied and so these cannot be created on a PC. There are some un-protected games that may work by copying them on a PC to floppy disk. You could try using the HxC floppy Emulator software (link below to download it) and download some STX game images from http://www.atarimania.com. If the HxC emulator software allows you to click on "Disk Browse" and you see the files then you can probably extract the files to a folder then copy them onto a floppy disk. Here is a link to LCD screens that have been tested and some allow all resolutions: http://www.atari-wiki.com/index.php/Flat_Panel_Displays There are a couople of links at the bottom of the linked web page to cable pin-outs used. I have not tried these as I use an Atari with a built in TV modulator and connect it to a LCD TV using an RF lead. I use a Microsoft Basic optical USB mouse with an Atari to USB adapter. The adapters are widely available for sale on the Internet auction sites.

An email on the status would have been useful on what is happening and an ETA on fix -

Same here. No idea why. I think it is pretty poor hosting service to allow someones web site to be offline for an extended period. -

X3 Atari St's and lots of games etc for sale
kodak80 replied to airmech0849's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I linked the file in the previous reply but here it is again,https://sites.google.com/site/stessential/system-tools/sysinfo . You will need to download it and copy it onto a floppy disk. Floppy disk can be formatted in a windows computer if you have one with a USB or internal flioppy drive. To format a 720kb floppy in the newer versions of Windows, you need to open a CMD.EXE (Command) prompt window and type FORMAT A: /F:720 /U Copy the SYSINFO.PRG file onto the floppy and then use this in the Atari STE. Open the A: drive and run the file. This will show a screen of information about the computer. If you take a photo of the screen this can then be uploaded here to shiow the system information. Not an easy process if you have not been using the Atari for a while. Relies on you having access to a windows computer with a floppy drive which is becoming rare these days and makes this process harder to achieve. Anyway, hope this helps. -

You need to run sysinfo.prg which shows a set of information including the memory installed. -

I'd be interested in the Atari ST Review cover disks to complement my online archive of this publication: http://www.chillichai.com/atari-st-review -
You can also do an image on your Atari computer using Magic Shadow Archiver. It should allow you to create an MSA file on another floppy disk which was formatted on a PC computer. You should then be able to get the MSA on your PC and open it in an emulator to test it works. Here is a link to the MSA tool: https://sites.google.com/site/stessential/disks-tools/msa If you get a working MSA then I would be interested in a copy of it. Of course, if the disk has any form or fancy protections on it then creating an MSA image of the disk may not work. You may also need to look at creating an STX Pasti image of the disk using the Pasti toolkit from here: http://pasti.fxatari.com/ The trick is to store the MSA or STX image file on a IBM formatted floppy disk which can then be read on a PC and opened in emulators or shared with others. If the STX image turns out to be larger than 720kb though it will not fit on a floppy disk. To load an STX disk image in an emulator your will the pasti.dll in the same folder as the emulator executable file. If you have a working copy of Arcade Force Four then Atarimania.com would be interested in getting the STX images as they don't have them at the moment. I can upload to their FTP if you get working STX or MSA copies of the disks.

Enter the TKR Fax Modem.

ISSUES UPDATED: I have now re-uploaded the remainder of the PDFs (currently available on the website) which contain text now. They are now bigger though. I have not OCR'd issue 34 as it doesn't want to play nice. I will need to look at this issue next week. DISK UPDATED: I have checked disk 2 from issue 06 and found that the file JAMES.ACC was in the root of the floppy. It should have been in the JAMES12 folder. I have now uploaded a correct MSA for this disk. I have also added a content summary at the top of the Cover Disk download page to help with checking what is on each disk.
-
ISSUES UPDATED: Due to a request, issues on the website (that are currently available) up to and including issue 14 have been reloaded as OCR'd PDF versions so they now have searchable text in them. I will be updating the others over the weekend.
-
OK, I will work through them and OCR them. As you say, it is handy to select the text and search. I will let everyone know when they are done and uploaded.
-
No, the other issues are just scanned images in PDF format. I only recently found the feature in Adobe Acrobat to OCR so did it for issue 2. I will probably do the other issues if this is what people want?
-
ISSUE 02 UPDATED: Anyone read through issue 02 yet? I did today and page 86 didn't turn out to be 86! The PDF I had available is missing 2 pages which I hadn't scanned. I have now scanned the missing pages (82 & 83) and recreated the PDF file. I have also OCR'd the new version so that it contains selectable text rather than just scanned images. The updated PDF is now available on the website.
-
It certainly looks an interesting device. With regards to the survey pages in issue 1, I have fixed these so the survey is now blank and will be reloading the issue 1 PDF on the website in a bit. I am also going to optimize the PDF so it will be a bit smaller but still be a good quality.

NEW ISSUE: Issue 03 is now available. Enjoy. http://www.chillichai.com/atari-st-review

New Issue: Issue 02 (144 pages) has now been scanned and added to the website. Enjoy. http://www.chillichai.com/atari-st-review

For those interested, I am in the process of creating a full archive of the Atari ST Review (UK) magazines. There were 35 issues and I could not find them on the Internet. I have purchased most issues and I am scanning and uploading them as PDF files available on my website: http://www.chillichai.com/atari-st-review Enjoy.
