Hi All,
I thought some of my (former?) PARCP users perhaps read this forum so they might be interested in the first major update in 17 years - PARCP 4.0 release. As always, it's free update for all registered users.
For those that don't know PARCP yet - it's a software that allows you to hook two computers together using a cable and copy/move files/folders from one computer to another, either manually or fully automatically, very quickly and easily. And these two computers can be any combination of Atari ST/TT/Falcon/compatible, any Intel/AMD/compatible PC and even the little Raspberry Pi. So if you want to copy stuff from/to your Atari easily PARCP is there for you.
The highlights of this new 4.0 release include new native Windows and Raspberry Pi binaries, the USB support thanks to PARCP-USB adapter and the possibility of running arbitrary programs from PARCP batch scripts. The external program execution brings the PARCP automation to a whole new level, as Daniel Hedberg or Douglas Little could confirm
So, if you'd like to find out more about PARCP or just download the new binary package please visit the PARCP microsite.
I'd like to announce one more thing: while I work on PARCP binary for Mac OS X it's taking me time because I don't have a Mac handy. I believe that if PARCP was open source it could allow you to port it quickly not only to Mac but also to new exciting computer platforms including mobile devices (imagine hooking your Android phone to your Atari ST), home NAS devices (think Synology with all your Atari data backup), OpenWRT routers with attached hardrives that serve as multimedia centers and many more.
My plan is to release PARCP as free software once there are 100 satistified users of PARCP-USB adapters. Currently there are 58 happy owners that report back nothing less than superlatives. Let's find the remaining 42 buyers by spreading the word. I can't wait to upload PARCP to github :-)
Thanks and enjoy the new PARCP.
Petr
