2016 March of Dimes Arcade/Pinball prize raffle
cjameslv replied to Herbertsmart's topic in Arcade and Pinball
These charities are always a hot issue because of the causes they attach to themselves. It is a good cause and touches near to me, my niece was born 7 weeks early and even now (she is still dealing with learning issues and is way behind for her age. I won't donate to this type of charity though, as i don't believe enough percentage of the donations is going to where it should. When the ceo of the company makes over $500k a year i don't feel that's a humble amount for a nonprofit organization to adhere to. I donate to charities like AAH (action against hunger) where it directly helps our own country and the ceo makes a much smaller $181k a year. I understand being a ceo and driving a successful company deserves a salary, but half a million dollars is excessive and greedy imo. Take it for what you will but just because its a good cause doesn't mean the charity championing it is good for the cause. Edit: Apologies for the typos. -
Atari 800 - Best Game Pack : Releases
cjameslv replied to starwindz's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
This or they should see if anyone else is interested in taking this project over and off their hands since they are both unable to support it, so they can focus on family stuff and not worry about people bothering them with questions. -
Who here likes the old Electro-Mechanical (EM) type games?
cjameslv replied to simbalion's topic in Arcade and Pinball
I for one do not like em pins. They may have simple play and cool sounds but outright suck to fix! Just wait till the cloth wrap around the wires start to deteriorate and there is random arcing happening and try to fix it by replacing god knows how many miles of wire. As the days turn into weeks, you will realize why the hell would anyone ever want to own one. I only bought 1 EM (Honey) and will only buy ss pins since. I enjoy the simplicity of the ss machine and ease and speed at which i can troubleshoot, repair and swap boards. If you want to play a nice throwback to the old school with out the hassle of owning one, i would suggest time machine. -
Not sure why they wouldn't be, according to the op as follows:

This is why i see alot of debate on things like mail in titles for example. being part of an official licensed set for systems. I'm under the impression if you had to mail in for it and stores did not carry it, that is called promotional and if so then its not part of an official set, but then others will say it is. I know then this brings up other issues as stores did carry remakes (sears , etc) but then a licensed remake is just that, a remake, and i wouldn't count that as official Atari release either. I think trying to collect a full set isn't possible because of there not being enough guidelines and general consensus to what exactly should count and what shouldn't.

Ha, i'm surprised you even added composite!
-
Try plugging it into a different outlet or change surge protectors too.
-
It would be great if the game had the option to be sold without the pokey chip and we could solder in our own donors. I'm sure there's plenty of people who just don't care about ballblazer enough to worry if the world will run out of copies. Let the slaughter begin...if only sigh. Reality is, if its been 2 years already most people are cool waiting a couple more years i guess.
-
...wasn't that pic from 2014?
-
Yeah i noticed there's a few ways to pull the dual audio. I pull top of c10 (pokey) and bottom c14 (tia) with a 47k ohm resistor tied to line out. As for composite, i skipped it as i feel the difference is too big to even bother. svideo or bust lol

Just finished my install today on my ntsc 7800. What a great board! Very simple and straight forward install. I removed my rf and used double sided tape to stick the pcb in its place. Picture quality is beautiful. Running it in svideo on a crt monitor. Heres a couple pics:

The 161-in-1 is a good cart to start with. It has a bit over 90 good games on it. I used mine until i got enough singles to be have a big enough library to play from. Best part is they hold value and are good to sell or trade.

WTB: Windjammers or Flying Power Disk (Neo Geo MVS)
cjameslv replied to KreatorKat's topic in Wanted
Yeah 200 is alot, more than i would be willing to pay for it too, but good luck on your hunt! -
Id have to say around 2012 here in vegas arcades died, until last year. We had a huge multi level arcade called gameworks on the strip It closed and i remember being really suprised cause it was always packed. Well it reopened recently but its not the massive wonderland it used to be and its farther down the stip now. Not what it used to be.

Another middle earth owner! This is my fav atari widebody pinball machine. Best thing to do for it is swap all the bulbs with LEDs. If you find the game too slow they also make these coated balls that are very fast. Awesome to see you got this under appreciated game!

WTB: Windjammers or Flying Power Disk (Neo Geo MVS)
cjameslv replied to KreatorKat's topic in Wanted
Lol, those are really old prices (that list hasn't been updated since 2009). I only wish i could get windjammers for that! Your gonna be shelling out in the neighborhood of $200+ for a loose cart. I usually have good luck doing trades than trying to outright buy a rare game. -
I collect both with no priority to one or the other. There's so much work put into the bootleg pcbs now that they will probably outlast my originals. Just make sure you pay bootleg prices for bootlegs! The wiki boog listed is a good resource to compare to.

Good titles, good luck hunting!
