  1. I know I should be able to figure this out, but I must be slow, because I couldn't... :ponder:

I recently won a Arcadia Supercharger on an eBay auction, plus some games, and the lady who I won them from said she would send two games that she didn't know the proper system for, but said I might have some use for them.

Now, I got them...And I have no idea what system they are for either.

I'm sure you all know, and I'm going to look stupid, but it's piqued my curiousity. :ponder: :D

So, what console are these for? (They are Popeye and Q*Bert, by the way, Popeye is turned around for a good back view)

    Thank you in advance! :D

P.S. I also got a Video Touch Pad that wasn't listed in the auction! How thoughtful! 8)

  2. I also have Comcast, and at one point had TechTV...My favourite station...watched it all the time...

Then, they dropped it and added the "Inspirational Channel" and the "Outdoor Life Network" in its place. :ponder: :x

Who is inspired to go outdoors anymore!? :ponder:

I'd rather stay inside with my technology...

  3. @ Hermchase - I had thought about being more descriptive (in all three actually)  but figured since the titles weren't so hot or rare,  I'd get more people looking with the mystery of only saying "games".

Hey,  I had to be a *little*  sneaky right?

That's what I had figured you were going for, but I wanted to inform you, just in case...I've seen people end up selling expensive things at low prices because of not so great titles, so I wanted to let ya know.

Example: I recently saw one I wished I had bid on...It was titled "atari 2600". That's it. In it, they sold two different models of the 2600, 2 joysticks, and 4 paddles, with free shipping, for $21.50. THAT woulda been nice to turn around and sell. :D

Too bad I saw it AFTER it ended...

  4. My EB carries nothing older than N64 either. But, the Babbages/GameStop had about 30 NES games in its bargain bin yesterday.... SMB/Duck Hunt/Track Meet for $.29. :D

I picked up a few others, including Rad Racer...They had Rad Racer 2, also...Shoulda grabbed it, but forgot...

    Got:

    Astyanax .99

    Stealth .99

    SMB/DH/TM .29

    Rad Racer 1.99

Okay, that's enough of me changing the topic. EB is a pretty good store, though...Just not very classic in my area. :D

  5. I saw that one too....It made me laugh...

    I can picture it now...

"Attack the gaggles of geese as they try to take over the planet! Be fast, and don't let them pass, or this feather-free breath will be your last!" :ponder: :D

  6. I just whipped out the GameShark, typed all that annoying code in...And it worked! Woohoo! Code confirmed!

The level is very rough, but looks like it was supposed to be level like, not just a random digit address that made a pseudo-level, as it is quite complex.

Too bad you can walk through every wall. :D

  7. Hey MKM!

Yeah, Mike is a guy you can definately trust. I sent him a few videos a while back, and did him a favour, too...Good guy.

Nice job on getting the Tape to work! Have fun! Maybe I should go out and look for this game...

I suspect that if someone beat a Rogers record, he would fully acknowlegde it and get excited about it because it sets a new standard for him to beat. Those hyper-competitive guys usually love a challenge an respect someone who can give it to them.

Then why does it still say "World Record: Yes" next to Todd's score on Carnival on his site? ;) :D

  8. Don't forget air hockey, foosball, pinball

and some of those gimicky games like dance dance revolution, I've

seen some girls pump a lot of money into those!

I see guys pump much more into DDR then girls around here...

There are a few guys at my local arcade who probably spend $10 every time they go, which is a few times a week (they are there whenever I am), just on DDR...

That machine will probably pay for itself, and cause some revenue. Especially if you have a contest. ;)

A variety is always good. If I have a big game of DDR, I wanna cool down...Play something slower or at least less energy using. My arcade has no classic games ( ), so I'll play Space Harriers, DanceManiaX, or Air Hockey for this. And make sure you have a place to sit and just chill. People like that. If you rest them, they will play.

Or, hey, if you got enough Classic games, you could always become "Funspot of Australia" or something. :D

If you don't know, Funspot is the largest classic gaming arcade in the world. I got to go there this November... Dim lights... Rows upon rows of classic games... Walking up that stairway and hearing "Video Killed The Radio Star" on the 80's soundtrack...Even classic arcade smell, whatever that is. :ponder: :D

    Good luck! :D

  9. http://www.twingalaxies.com/forums/viewtop...opic.php?t=1917

Todd Rogers - (Senior Referee) Atari (all consoles and 8-bit computers), Intellivision, GameCube

Oops. You are right....However, Robert can and does review tapes for any and all consoles and arcade games, too. :ponder: :D

And...I think that's who I'll send my 2600 scores to...I don't want Todd stealing my tactics. Especially when I'm breaking HIS scores. :ponder: ;) :D

  10. ATARI CLASSIC SYSTEMS

      400/800, ST 520/1040, 2600, 5200, 7800, Lynx, and Jaguar;

      Robert Mruczek

      179 North 7th Street

      Brooklyn, New York 11211-2905

To obtain the rules for playing your game, ask: Robert Mruczek

He's the "new" person. He handles a lot of systems (He's TG Contest Administrator and Chief Referee), but he will eventually get back to you. :D

  11. Hm....When I taped it, I had a TV/VCR combo....But, isn't there a feature on most VCRs that just "records whatever is on channel 3" or something? I would think that if Channel 3 was your console at the time, it would tape that...Yes, it does, because my N64 was once connected through the antenna/cable-in, and when I switched it on, and the channel was on 3, it would stop recording the channel, and start recording the game.

So, try just hitting the record button, turning on the console, and seeing if it tapes...Good luck! :D

  12. If you sent the email to Ron Corcoran, he just stepped down from his Atari seat in the referee board. Thus, you should go back and resend an email to the new person. 8)

You do not need a video camera. I set my Sky Diver and Carnival records (the latter of which was held by a guy named Todd... ) with a VCR. Just turn on the VCR, wait like 5 seconds (I wait 15 to be safe), turn on the console, if it has settings, do it nice and slowly, so it is obvious you aren't trying to pull something, then start your game. At the end, let the score display for a few seconds, then stop the tape, or turn off the console. Simple as that. Which reminds me, I should really try to beat my 1M score on Carnival.... :ponder: :D

  13. Nice job on the lot...

Considering I hesitate spending more than $5... :D

I think THIS is my favourite part of that auction:

    Location: The Garden State

    United States /New York

I always thought New Jersey was The Garden State? :ponder:

I have to go check those liscense plates... ;)

  14. 60. Shougi Hiden (some Japanese strategy game I can’t figure this one out).

It's probably "Honshogi: Naitou Kudan Shogi Hiden", which is an NES game that plays a Japanese variation on Chess known as Shogi. Here's a version of it that's a tad easier to understand (read: the first one I could find in 30 seconds), if you don't know to play:

    http://www.crockford.com/chess/shogi.html

Gotta run, so I don't have time to find the "traditional" shogi sites I was looking at yesterday and the day before. :ponder:
